Joel 3
1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring back the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
Fiindcă, iată, în acele zile şi în acel timp, când voi întoarce pe captivii lui Iuda şi ai Ierusalimului,
2 I will gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat. And I will execute judgment upon them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations. And they have parted my land,
Voi aduna de asemenea toate naţiunile şi le voi coborî în valea lui Iosafat şi acolo, cu ele, mă voi judeca pentru poporul meu şi pentru moştenirea mea Israel, pe care ei l-au împrăştiat printre naţiuni şi au împărţit ţara mea.
3 and have cast lots for my people, and have given a boy for a harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.
Şi au aruncat sorţi pentru poporul meu; şi au dat un băiat pentru o curvă şi au vândut o fată pentru vin ca să bea.
4 Yea, and what are ye to me, O Tyre, and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Will ye render me a recompense? And if ye recompense me, I will return your recompense swiftly and speedily upon your own head.
Da, şi ce aveţi voi a face cu mine, Tirule şi Sidonule, şi toate ţinuturile Palestinei? Doriţi să îmi întoarceţi o răsplată? Şi dacă mă răsplătiţi, repede şi în grabă vă voi întoarce răsplata voastră asupra capului vostru;
5 Inasmuch as ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly precious things,
Pentru că aţi luat argintul meu şi aurul meu şi aţi dus în templele voastre lucrurile mele bune şi plăcute;
6 and have sold the sons of Judah and the sons of Jerusalem to the sons of the Grecians, that ye may remove them far from their border,
De asemenea aţi vândut pe copiii lui Iuda şi pe copiii Ierusalimului grecilor, ca să îi îndepărtaţi mult de graniţa lor.
7 behold, I will stir them up out of the place where ye have sold them, and will return your recompense upon your own head.
Iată, îi voi ridica din locul în care i-aţi vândut şi voi întoarce răsplata voastră asupra capului vostru;
8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah, and they shall sell them to the men of Sheba, to a nation far off. For Jehovah has spoken it.
Şi voi vinde pe fiii voştri şi pe fiicele voastre în mâna copiilor lui Iuda şi ei îi vor vinde sabeenilor, unui popor îndepărtat, pentru că DOMNUL a vorbit aceasta.
9 Proclaim ye this among the nations: Prepare war. Stir up the mighty men. Let all the men of war draw near. Let them come up.
Vestiţi aceasta printre neamuri: Pregătiţi războiul, treziţi pe războinici, să se apropie şi să se urce toţi bărbaţii de război;
10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears. Let the weak say, I am strong.
Bateţi fiarele voastre de plug în săbii şi prăjinile voastre de curăţat pomi în suliţe; cel slab să spună: Sunt tare.
11 Hasten ye, and come, all ye nations round about, and gather yourselves together. Cause thy mighty ones to come down there, O Jehovah.
Adunaţi-vă şi veniţi, voi toţi păgânii, strângeţi-vă împreună de jur împrejur; acolo coboară-i pe războinicii tăi, DOAMNE.
12 Let the nations bestir themselves, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the nations round about.
Păgânii să fie treziţi şi să urce la valea lui Iosafat, pentru că acolo voi şedea, ca să judec pe toţi păgânii de jur împrejur.
13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread ye, for the winepress is full, the vats overflow. For their wickedness is great.
Puneţi secera, pentru că secerişul este copt; veniţi, coborâţi, pentru că presa este plină, teascurile se revarsă, pentru că mare este stricăciunea lor.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of Jehovah is near in the valley of decision.
Mulţimi, mulţimi în valea hotărârii, pentru că ziua DOMNULUI este aproape în valea hotărârii.
15 The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.
Soarele şi luna se vor întuneca şi stelele îşi vor retrage strălucirea.
16 And Jehovah will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth shall shake. But Jehovah will be a refuge to his people, and a stronghold to the sons of Israel.
DOMNUL de asemenea va răcni din Sion şi îşi va înălţa vocea din Ierusalim; şi cerurile şi pământul se vor cutremura; dar DOMNUL va fi speranţa poporului său şi tăria copiilor lui Israel.
17 So ye shall know that I am Jehovah your God, dwelling in Zion my holy mountain. Then Jerusalem shall be holy, and no strangers shall pass through her any more.
Astfel veţi cunoaşte că eu sunt DOMNUL Dumnezeul vostru locuind în Sion, muntele meu sfânt; atunci Ierusalimul va fi sfânt şi acolo străinii nu vor mai trece prin el.
18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah shall flow with waters. And a fountain shall come forth from the house of Jehovah, and shall water the valley of Shittim.
Şi se va întâmpla în acea zi că munţii vor picura vin nou şi dealurile vor curge cu lapte şi toate râurile lui Iuda vor curge cu ape şi o fântână va ieşi din casa DOMNULUI şi va uda valea Sitimului.
19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence done to the sons of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
Egiptul va fi o pustie şi Edomul va fi o pustie părăsită, din cauza violenţei împotriva copiilor lui Iuda, deoarece au vărsat sânge nevinovat în ţara lor.
20 But Judah shall abide forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
Dar Iuda va locui pentru totdeauna şi Ierusalimul din generaţie în generaţie.
21 And I will cleanse their blood, that I have not cleansed. For Jehovah dwells in Zion.
Fiindcă voi curăţi sângele lor pe care nu l-am curăţit, fiindcă DOMNUL locuieşte în Sion.
