Job 5
1 Call now, is there any who will answer thee? And to which of the holy ones will thou turn?
೧“ನೀನು ಕೂಗಿದರೆ, ನಿನಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡುವವರುಂಟೋ? ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೇವದೂತರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸುವಿ?
2 For vexation kills the foolish man, and jealousy slays the silly one.
೨ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ಮೂರ್ಖನಿಗೆ ನಾಶವು, ರೋಷದಿಂದ ಮೂಢನಿಗೆ ಮರಣವು ಸಂಭವಿಸುವುದಲ್ಲವೇ.
3 I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
೩ಮೂರ್ಖನು ಬೇರೂರುವುದನ್ನು ನಾನು ನೋಡಿದೆನು. ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅವನ ನಿವಾಸವು ಶಾಪಗ್ರಸ್ತವೆನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಸ್ಪದವಾಯಿತು.
4 His sons are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them,
೪ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಆಶ್ರಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋತುಹೋಗುವರು. ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸತಕ್ಕವರು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
5 whose harvest the hungry eat up, and takes it even out of the thorns, and the snare gapes for their substance.
೫ಹಸಿದವನು ಅವರ ಬೆಳೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಳ್ಳುಬೇಲಿಹಾಕಿದ್ದರೂ ತಿಂದುಬಿಡುವನು. ಅವರ ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನು ನುಂಗಲು ಬಾಯಿ ತೆರೆದು ಕಾದಿರುವರು.
6 For affliction does not come forth from the dust, nor does trouble spring out of the ground,
೬ಕೇಡು ಉದ್ಭವಿಸುವುದು ಮಣ್ಣಿನಿಂದಲ್ಲ; ದುಃಖವು ಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ಮೊಳೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
7 but man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
೭ಜ್ವಾಲೆಗಳು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾರುವುದು, ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಶ್ರಮೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವುದೂ ಸಹಜ.
8 But as for me, I would seek to God. And to God I would commit my cause,
೮(ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ) ನಾನಾದರೋ ದೇವರನ್ನೇ ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು; ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ದೇವರಿಗೇ ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು.
9 who does great things and unsearchable, marvelous things without number,
೯ಆತನು ಅಪ್ರಮೇಯ ಮಹಾಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅಸಂಖ್ಯಾತವಾದ ಅದ್ಭುತಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
10 who gives rain upon the earth, and sends waters upon the fields,
೧೦ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಳೆಸುರಿಸಿ, ಹೊಲಗದ್ದೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
11 so that he sets up on high those who are low, and those who mourn are exalted to safety.
೧೧ಹೀನಸ್ಥಿತಿಯವರನ್ನು ಉನ್ನತಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಏರಿಸಿ, ದುಃಖಿಸುವವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆತರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
12 He frustrates the devices of the crafty so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.
೧೨ಯುಕ್ತಿವಂತರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಏನೂ ಆಗದಂತೆ, ಅವರ ಉಪಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಭಂಗಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
13 He takes the wise in their own craftiness, and the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.
೧೩ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ತಂತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು, ವಕ್ರಬುದ್ಧಿಯುಳ್ಳವರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರರ್ಥಕ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
14 They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope at noonday as in the night.
೧೪ಅವರು ಹಗಲಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತುವರೆದು, ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದಲ್ಲೇ ರಾತ್ರಿಯವರಂತೆ ತಡಕಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
15 But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty.
೧೫ಇಂಥವರ ಬಾಯೆಂಬ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ, ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರ ಕೈಯಿಂದಲೂ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
16 So a poor man has hope, and iniquity stops her mouth.
೧೬ಹೀಗೆ ಬಡವನಿಗೆ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯುಂಟಾಗುವುದು, ಅನ್ಯಾಯವು ಬಾಯಿ ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.
17 Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise thou the chastening of the Almighty.
೧೭ಇಗೋ, ದೇವರು ಯಾರನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವನೋ ಅವನು ಧನ್ಯನು; ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರ ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ತಾತ್ಸಾರಮಾಡಬೇಡ.
18 For he injures, and binds up. He wounds, and his hands make whole.
೧೮ಗಾಯಮಾಡುವವನೂ ಗಾಯಕಟ್ಟುವವನೂ ಆತನೇ; ಹೊಡೆಯುವ ಕೈಯೇ ವಾಸಿಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.
19 He will deliver thee in six troubles. Yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
೧೯ಆರು ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟುಗಳಿಂದ ಆತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುವನು; ಏಳನೆಯ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟು ಉಂಟಾದರೂ ಯಾವ ಕೇಡೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟದು.
20 In famine he will redeem thee from death, and in war from the power of the sword.
೨೦ಬರಗಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಣದಿಂದಲೂ, ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುವನು.
21 Thou shall be hid from the scourge of the tongue. Neither shall thou be afraid of destruction when it comes.
೨೧ನಾಲಿಗೆಯೆಂಬ ಕೊರಡೆಗೆ ನೀನು ಮರೆಯಾಗಿರುವಿ; ವಿನಾಶವುಂಟಾದರೂ ನೀನು ಹೆದರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
22 At destruction and dearth thou shall laugh, nor shall thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
೨೨ನೀನು ನಾಶಕ್ಕೂ, ಕ್ಷಾಮಕ್ಕೂ ನಗುವಿ; ಕಾಡುಮೃಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಂಜಬೇಕಾಗಿಲ್ಲ.
23 For thou shall be in league with the stones of the field, and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
೨೩ಹೊಲದ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೂ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವಿ; ಕಾಡುಮೃಗಗಳೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿರುವವು.
24 And thou shall know that thy tent is in peace, and thou shall visit thy fold, and shall miss nothing.
೨೪ನಿನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪಾಯವಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತೇ ಇರುವುದು; ನಿನ್ನ ಹಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ನೀನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವಾಗ ಏನೂ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
25 Thou shall know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.
೨೫ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತಾನವು ದೊಡ್ಡದ್ದೆಂದೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತತಿಯವರು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಹುಲ್ಲಿನಂತೆ ಲೆಕ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದವರು ಎಂದೂ ನಂಬಿರುವಿ.
26 Thou shall come to thy grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.
೨೬ಸುಗ್ಗೀಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತೆನೆಯ ಸಿವುಡು ಮನೆಗೆ ಸೇರುವಂತೆ, ನೀನು ವೃದ್ಧಾಪ್ಯ ಕಳೆದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಮಾಧಿಗೆ ಸೇರುವಿ.
27 Lo this, we have searched it, so it is. Hear it, and know thou it for thy good.
೨೭ಇಗೋ, ಇದನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ, ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದೆ; ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳು, ನಿನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನೀನೇ ತಿಳಿದುಕೋ.”
