< Job 40 >

1 Moreover Jehovah answered Job, and said,
INkosi yasiphendula uJobe yathi:
2 Shall he who quibbles contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.
Ophikisana loSomandla uzamqondisa yini? Osola uNkulunkulu kakuphendule.
3 Then Job answered Jehovah, and said,
UJobe waseyiphendula iNkosi wathi:
4 Behold, I am of small account. What shall I answer thee? I lay my hand upon my mouth.
Khangela, ngiphansi; ngingakuphendula ngithini? Ngibeka isandla sami emlonyeni wami.
5 I have spoken once, and I will not answer, yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.
Ngikhulumile kanye, kodwa kangiyikuphendula; kumbe kabili, kodwa kangiyikuqhubeka.
6 Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
INkosi yasimphendula uJobe isesivunguzaneni yathi:
7 Gird up thy loins now like a man. I will demand of thee, and declare thou to me.
Bopha khathesi ukhalo lwakho njengendoda; ngizakubuza, ubusungazisa.
8 Will thou even annul my judgment? Will thou condemn me, that thou may be justified?
Isibili, uzachitha isahlulelo sami yini? Ungilahle, ukuze ube ngolungileyo yini?
9 Or have thou an arm like God? And can thou thunder with a voice like him?
Njalo ulengalo yini njengoNkulunkulu? Kumbe ungaduma yini ngelizwi njengaye?
10 Deck thyself now with excellency and dignity, and array thyself with honor and majesty.
Khathesi zicecise ngobukhosi lokuphakama, uzembese ngodumo lenkazimulo.
11 Pour forth the overflowings of thine anger, and look upon everyone who is proud, and abase him.
Usabalalise intukuthelo zolaka lwakho, ukhangele wonke ozigqajayo, umthobise.
12 Look on everyone who is proud, and bring him low, and tread down the wicked where they stand.
Khangela wonke ozigqajayo, umehlisele phansi, unyathelele phansi ababi endaweni yabo.
13 Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place.
Ubafihle bonke ethulini, ubophe ubuso babo ngasese.
14 Then I will also confess of thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
Khona lami ngizavuma kuwe, ukuthi isandla sakho sokunene singakusindisa.
15 Behold now behemoth, which I made as well as thee. He eats grass as an ox.
Ake ukhangele imvubu engayenza kanye lawe; idla utshani njengenkabi.
16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the muscles of his belly.
Ake ukhangele, amandla ayo asekhalweni lwayo, lokuqina kwayo kusemisipheni yesisu sayo.
17 He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together.
Iyagobisa umsila wayo njengomsedari; imisipha yemilenze yayo yelukene.
18 His bones are as tubes of brass. His limbs are like bars of iron.
Amathambo ayo anjengempompi zethusi, amathambo ayo anjengemigoqo yensimbi.
19 He is a beginning of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword.
Ingeyokuqala yezindlela zikaNkulunkulu; owayenzayo wasondeza inkemba yayo.
20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
Ngoba intaba ziyayivezela ukudla, lapho okudlala khona inyamazana zonke zeganga.
21 He lies under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the fen.
Ilala phansi kwesihlahla esiluhlaza, ekusithekeni kwemihlanga lamaxhaphozi.
22 The lotus trees cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook encompass him about.
Izihlahla eziluhlaza ziyayisibekela ngomthunzi wazo; imidubu yesifula iyayiphahla.
23 Behold, if a river overflows, he does not tremble. He is confident though a Jordan swell even to his mouth.
Khangela, umfula uyayicindezela, kayiphangisi; ilesibindi lanxa iJordani ingaphuphumela emlonyeni wayo.
24 Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?
Ongayibamba yini ngamehlo ayo? Ongahlaba yini amakhala ayo ngemijibila?
