Job 36
1 Elihu also proceeded, and said,
Proseguiu ainda Elihu, e disse:
2 Allow me a little, and I will show thee. For I have yet somewhat to say on God's behalf.
Espera-me um pouco, e mostrar-te-hei que ainda ha razões a favor de Deus.
3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my maker.
Desde longe repetirei a minha opinião; e ao meu Creador attribuirei a justiça.
4 (For truly my words are not false.) He who is perfect in knowledge is with thee.
Porque na verdade, as minhas palavras não serão falsas: comtigo está um que é sincero na sua opinião.
5 Behold, God is mighty, and does not despise. He is mighty in strength of understanding.
Eis que Deus é mui grande, comtudo a ninguem despreza: grande é em força de coração.
6 He does not preserve the life of the wicked, but gives to the afflicted their right.
Não deixa viver ao impio, e faz justiça aos afflictos.
7 He does not withdraw his eyes from the righteous, but he sets them forever with kings upon the throne, and they are exalted.
Do justo não tira os seus olhos; antes estão com os reis no throno; ali os assenta para sempre, e assim são exaltados.
8 And if they be bound in fetters, and be taken in the cords of afflictions,
E, se estando presos em grilhões, os detem amarrados com cordas de afflicção,
9 then he shows them their work, and their transgressions, that they have behaved themselves proudly.
Então lhes faz saber a obra d'elles, e as suas transgressões; porquanto prevaleceram n'ellas.
10 He also opens their ear to instruction, and commands that they return from iniquity.
E revela-lh'o aos seus ouvidos, para seu ensino; e diz-lhes que se convertam da maldade.
11 If they hearken and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
Se o ouvirem, e o servirem, acabarão seus dias em bem, e os seus annos em delicias.
12 But if they do not hearken, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
Porém se o não ouvirem, á espada os passarão, e expirarão sem conhecimento.
13 But those who are godless in heart lay up anger. They do not cry for help when he binds them.
E os hypocritas de coração amontoam para si a ira; e amarrando-os elle, não clamam por soccorro.
14 They die in youth, and their life perishes among the unclean.
A sua alma morre na mocidade, e a sua vida entre os sodomitas.
15 He delivers the afflicted by their affliction, and opens their ear in oppression.
Ao afflicto livra, da sua afflicção, e na oppressão o revelará aos seus ouvidos.
16 Yea, he would have allured thee out of distress into a broad place, where there is no confinement, and that which is set on thy table would be full of fatness.
Assim tambem te desviará da bocca da angustia para um logar espaçoso, em que não haja aperto, e as iguarias da tua mesa serão cheias de gordura.
17 But thou have fulfilled the judgment of the wicked. Judgment and justice take hold,
E estarás satisfeito com o juizo do impio: o juizo e a justiça te sustentarão.
18 and there shall be wrath upon the impious because of the ungodliness of bribes which the unrighteous receive.
Porquanto ha furor, guarda-te de que porventura te não tire de pancada, pois por grande preço te não poderiam retirar d'ali.
19 Will thy cry not avail in distress, or all the forces of strength?
Estimaria elle tanto tuas riquezas, ou alguns esforços da força, que por isso não estivesses em aperto?
20 Do not desire the night, when peoples are cut off in their place.
Não suspires pela noite, em que os povos sejam tomados do seu logar.
21 Take heed. Do not turn to iniquity, for thou have fixed on this because of affliction.
Guarda-te, e não declines para a iniquidade: porquanto n'isto a escolheste, por causa da tua miseria.
22 Behold, God does loftily in his power. Who is a teacher like him?
Eis que Deus exalta com a sua força; quem ensina como elle?
23 Who has enjoined him his way? Or who can say, Thou have wrought unrighteousness?
Quem lhe pedirá conta do seu caminho? ou, quem lhe disse: Tu commetteste maldade?
24 Remember that thou magnify his work, of which men have sung.
Lembra-te de que engrandeças a sua obra que os homens contemplam.
25 All men have looked on it. Man beholds it afar off.
Todos os homens a veem, e o homem a enxerga de longe.
26 Behold, God is great, and we do not know him. The number of his years is unsearchable.
Eis que Deus é grande, e nós o não comprehendemos, e o numero dos seus annos se não pode esquadrinhar.
27 For he draws up the drops of water, which distil in rain from his vapor,
Porque faz miudas as gottas das aguas que derramam a chuva do seu vapor.
28 which the skies pour down and drop upon man abundantly.
A qual as nuvens distillam e gotejam sobre o homem abundantemente.
29 Yea, can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, the thunderings of his pavilion?
Porventura tambem se poderão entender as extensões das nuvens, e os estalos da sua tenda?
30 Behold, he spreads his light around him, and he covers the bottom of the sea.
Eis que estende sobre ellas a sua luz, e encobre os altos do mar.
31 For by these he judges the peoples. He gives food in abundance.
Porque por estas coisas julga os povos e lhes dá mantimento em abundancia.
32 He covers his hands with the lightning, and gives it a command that it strike the mark.
Com as mãos encobre a luz, e faz-lhe prohibição pela que passa por entre ellas.
33 The noise of it tells concerning him. The cattle also concerning the storm that comes up.
O que dá a entender o seu pensamento, como tambem aos gados, ácerca do temporal que sobe.
