Jeremiah 49
1 Concerning the sons of Ammon. Thus says Jehovah: Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then does Malcam possess Gad, and his people dwell in the cities thereof?
അമ്മോന്യരെക്കുറിച്ച്: യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഇസ്രായേലിനു പുത്രന്മാരില്ലേ? ഇസ്രായേലിന് അവകാശിയില്ലേ? അല്ലെങ്കിൽ മോലെക്ക്, ഗാദിനെ കൈവശമാക്കിയത് എന്തിന്? അവന്റെ ആളുകൾ അതിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ പാർക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്?
2 Therefore, behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard against Rabbah of the sons of Ammon, and it shall become a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire. Then Israel shall possess those who possessed him, says Jehovah.

3 Wail, O Heshbon, for Ai is laid waste. Cry, ye daughters of Rabbah. Gird you with sackcloth. Lament, and run to and fro among the fences. For Malcam shall go into captivity, his priests and his rulers together.
“ഹെശ്ബോനേ, വിലപിക്കുക, ഹായി നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു! രബ്ബയുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളേ, നിലവിളിക്കുക! അരയിൽ ചാക്കുശീല ചുറ്റി വിലപിക്കുക; നിങ്ങളുടെ മതിലുകൾക്കുള്ളിൽ ഉഴന്നുനടക്കുക, കാരണം മോലെക്ക് പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകും, അവന്റെ പുരോഹിതരോടും ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരോടും ഒപ്പംതന്നെ.
4 Why do thou glory in the valleys, thy flowing valley? O backsliding daughter, who trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come to me?
നിന്റെ താഴ്വരകളെപ്പറ്റി നീ വളരെ അഹങ്കരിക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്? ഫലഭൂയിഷ്ഠമായ നിന്റെ താഴ്വരകളിൽ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്? അവിശ്വസ്തരായ മകളായ അമ്മോനേ, നിന്റെ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളിൽ ആശ്രയിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ‘ആര് എന്നെ ആക്രമിക്കും?’ എന്നു നീ പറയുന്നു.
5 Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, says the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, from all who are round about thee. And ye shall be driven out every man straight forth, and there shall be none to gather together the fugitives.

6 But afterward I will bring back the captivity of the sons of Ammon, says Jehovah.
“എങ്കിലും പിൽക്കാലത്ത്, ഞാൻ അമ്മോന്യരുടെ ഐശ്വര്യം പുനഃസ്ഥാപിക്കും,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
7 Of Edom. Thus says Jehovah of hosts: Is wisdom no more in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished?
ഏദോമിനെക്കുറിച്ച്: സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു. “തേമാനിൽ ഇനി ജ്ഞാനമില്ലേ? വിവേകികൾക്ക് ആലോചന നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടുപോയോ? അവരുടെ ജ്ഞാനം ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോയോ?
8 Flee ye, turn back, dwell in the depths, O inhabitants of Dedan. For I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I shall visit him.
ദേദാൻ നിവാസികളേ, പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞ് ഓടുക, ആഴമുള്ള ഗുഹകളിൽ ഒളിക്കുക; കാരണം ഞാൻ ഏശാവിനെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോൾ, അവന്റെമേൽ മഹാ വിപത്തുതന്നെ വരുത്തും.
9 If grape-gatherers came to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? If thieves by night, would they not destroy till they had enough?
മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം പറിക്കുന്നവർ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നാൽ കാലാപെറുക്കാനുള്ള പഴമെങ്കിലും അവർ ശേഷിപ്പിക്കുകയില്ലേ? കള്ളന്മാർ രാത്രിയിൽ വന്നാൽ, തങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടതല്ലേ അവർ മോഷ്ടിക്കൂ?
10 But I have made Esau bare. I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself. His seed is destroyed, and his brothers, and his neighbors, and he is not.
എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ ഏശാവിനെ വസ്ത്രമുരിഞ്ഞ് നഗ്നനാക്കും; അവന്റെ ഒളിവിടങ്ങൾ വെളിച്ചത്താക്കും, അതിനാൽ അവന് ഒളിക്കാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല. അവന്റെ ആയുധധാരികളായ യോദ്ധാക്കൾ നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടു, അവനുമായി സഖ്യമുള്ളവരും അയൽവാസികളും നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടു;
11 Leave thy fatherless sons; I will preserve them alive. And let thy widows trust in me.
അതുകൊണ്ട് ‘അനാഥരാകുന്ന നിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ ഇവിടെ വിട്ടേക്കുക; ഞാൻ അവരെ ജീവനോടെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാം. നിന്റെ വിധവമാർക്കും എന്നിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കാം,’” എന്ന് ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കാൻ ആരും അവശേഷിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.
12 For thus says Jehovah: Behold, those to whom it did not pertain to drink of the cup shall assuredly drink. And are thou he who shall go altogether unpunished? Thou shall not go unpunished, but thou shall surely drink.
യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “പാനപാത്രം കുടിക്കാൻ അർഹതയില്ലാത്തവർ അതു പാനംചെയ്യണം എന്നാണെങ്കിൽ, നീ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കും? നീ ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടാതെ പോകുകയില്ല, നീ അതു പാനംചെയ്തേ മതിയാവൂ.
13 For I have sworn by myself, says Jehovah, that Bozrah shall become an astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse, and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.
ബൊസ്രാ വിജനവും ശാപവും ഭീതിവിഷയവും നിന്ദയും ആയിത്തീരും; അതിലെ എല്ലാ പട്ടണങ്ങളും എന്നും ശൂന്യമായിത്തന്നെയിരിക്കും, എന്നു ഞാൻ എന്നെക്കൊണ്ടുതന്നെ ശപഥംചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
14 I have heard news from Jehovah. And an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying, Gather yourselves together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.
“അതിനെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നതിന് നിങ്ങൾ ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടുക! യുദ്ധത്തിനായി എഴുന്നേൽക്കുക!” എന്ന് അറിയിക്കുന്നതിന്, ഒരു സ്ഥാനപതിയെ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളിലേക്ക് അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, എന്ന് യഹോവയിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ ഒരു സന്ദേശം കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
15 For, behold, I have made thee small among the nations, and despised among men.
“ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ ചെറിയവനും മനുഷ്യരാൽ നിന്ദിതനും ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
16 As for thy formidableness, the pride of thy heart has deceived thee, O thou who dwells in the clefts of the rock, who holds the height of the hill. Though thou should make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from there, says Jehovah.
പാറപ്പിളർപ്പുകളിൽ വസിച്ച്, മലകളുടെ ഉയരങ്ങളിൽ പാർക്കുന്നവനേ, നീ മറ്റുള്ളവരിൽ പ്രചോദിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഭീതിയും നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ അഹങ്കാരവും നിന്നെ ചതിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, നീ കഴുകനെപ്പോലെ അത്രയും ഉയരത്തിൽത്തന്നെ കൂടുവെച്ചാലും, അവിടെനിന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഇറക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുവരും,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
17 And Edom shall become an astonishment. Everyone who passes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues of it.
“ഏദോം ഒരു ഭീതിവിഷയമായിത്തീരും; ഇതുവഴി കടന്നുപോകുന്ന സകലരും അതിന്റെ നാശം കണ്ടു സ്തബ്ധരായി അതിനെ പരിഹസിക്കും.
18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbor cities thereof, says Jehovah, no man shall dwell there, nor shall any son of man sojourn in it.
സൊദോമിനെയും ഗൊമോറായെയും അവയുടെ അയൽ പട്ടണങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം നശിപ്പിച്ച നാളിലെപ്പോലെതന്നെ, ആരും അവിടെ പാർക്കുകയില്ല; ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും അവിടെ താമസിക്കുകയില്ല,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
19 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation. For I will suddenly make them run away from it. And he who is chosen, him I will appoint over it. For who is like me, and who will appoint a time for me, and who is the shepherd who will stand before me?
“ഇതാ, യോർദാനിലെ കുറ്റിക്കാട്ടിൽനിന്ന് നിത്യഹരിതമായ മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ഒരു സിംഹം കയറിവരുമ്പോഴെന്നപോലെ, ഞാൻ ഏദോമ്യരെ ഒരൊറ്റ നിമിഷത്തിനുള്ളിൽ അവിടെനിന്ന് ഓടിച്ചുകളയും. ഞാൻ ഇതിനായി നിയോഗിക്കുന്ന തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ ആര്? എനിക്കു തുല്യനായി എന്നെ വെല്ലുവിളിക്കാൻ ആരാണുള്ളത്? ഏത് ഇടയനാണ് എനിക്കെതിരേ നിൽക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നത്?”
20 Therefore hear ye the counsel of Jehovah that he has taken against Edom, and his purposes, that he has purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely they shall drag them away, even the little ones of the flock. Surely he shall make their habitation desolate over them.
അതുകൊണ്ട്, ഏദോമിനെതിരേയുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ പദ്ധതികൾ കേൾക്കുക, തേമാൻ നിവാസികൾക്കെതിരേയുള്ള അവിടത്തെ ലക്ഷ്യംതന്നെ: ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിൽ ചെറിയവരേപ്പോലും ഇഴച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകും; അവരുടെ വാസസ്ഥലം അവരോടൊപ്പം ശൂന്യമാക്കും.
21 The earth trembles at the noise of their fall. There is a cry; the noise of it is heard in the Red Sea.
അവരുടെ വീഴ്ചയുടെ മുഴക്കത്താൽ ഭൂമി ഞെട്ടിവിറയ്ക്കും; അവരുടെ നിലവിളി! ചെങ്കടലിൽ പ്രതിധ്വനിക്കും.
22 Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread out his wings against Bozrah. And the heart of the mighty men of Edom at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
ഇതാ, ഒരു കഴുകൻ ഉയർന്നു പറന്നിട്ട് പെട്ടെന്ന് ചിറകുവിരിച്ച് ഇരയുടെമേലെന്നതുപോലെ ബൊസ്രായുടെമേൽ പാഞ്ഞടുക്കുന്നു. ആ ദിവസത്തിൽ ഏദോമിലെ വീരന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയം പ്രസവവേദന ബാധിച്ച സ്ത്രീയുടെ ഹൃദയംപോലെയാകും.
23 Of Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad, for they have heard evil news. They are melted away. There is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.
ദമസ്കോസിനെക്കുറിച്ച്: “ഹമാത്തും അർപ്പാദും നിരാശരായിരിക്കുന്നു, കാരണം അവർ ഒരു ദുർവാർത്ത കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം അസ്വസ്ഥമായിരിക്കുന്നു, അസ്വസ്ഥമായ കടൽപോലെതന്നെ.
24 Damascus has grown feeble. She turns herself to flee, and trembling has seized on her. Anguish and sorrows have taken hold of her, as of a woman in travail.
ദമസ്കോസ് നിസ്സഹായയായിത്തീർന്നു, അവൾ ഓടിപ്പോകാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നു, ഭീതി അവളെ പിടികൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നോവുകിട്ടിയ സ്ത്രീക്ക് എന്നപോലെ അവൾക്ക് അതിവ്യസനവും വേദനയും പിടിപെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
25 How is the city of praise not forsaken, the city of my joy?
പ്രശസ്തമായ പട്ടണം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്തുകൊണ്ട്, എന്റെ ആനന്ദമായിരിക്കുന്ന ആ നഗരംതന്നെ?
26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be brought to silence in that day, says Jehovah of hosts.
അവളുടെ യുവാക്കൾ വീഥികളിൽ വീണുപോകും, നിശ്ചയം; അവളുടെ എല്ലാ യോദ്ധാക്കളും ആ ദിവസത്തിൽ നശിച്ചുപോകും,” എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
“ദമസ്കോസിന്റെ മതിലുകൾക്ക് ഞാൻ തീവെക്കും; അത് ബെൻ-ഹദദിന്റെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.”
28 Of Kedar, and of the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote. Thus says Jehovah: Arise ye. Go up to Kedar, and destroy the sons of the east.
ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ ആക്രമിച്ച കേദാരിനെയും ഹാസോരിന്റെ രാജ്യങ്ങളെയുംകുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാട്: യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “എഴുന്നേൽക്കുക, കേദാരിനെ ആക്രമിക്കുക, കിഴക്കുദേശത്തെ ജനതയെ നശിപ്പിക്കുക.
29 They shall take their tents and their flocks. They shall carry away for themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels. And they shall cry to them, Terror on every side!
അവരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളും ആട്ടിൻപറ്റങ്ങളും അപഹരിക്കപ്പെടും; അവരുടെ കൂടാരശീലകൾ കൊണ്ടുപോകപ്പെടും, എല്ലാ വസ്തുവകകളോടും ഒട്ടകങ്ങളോടും ഒപ്പംതന്നെ. ‘സർവത്ര കൊടുംഭീതി!’ എന്നു ജനം അവരോടു വിളിച്ചുപറയും.
30 Flee ye. Wander far off. Dwell in the depths, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, says Jehovah. For Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has taken counsel against you, and has conceived a purpose against you.
“ഹാസോർ നിവാസികളേ, ദൂരേക്ക് ഓടിപ്പോകുക, ആഴമുള്ള ഗുഹകളിൽ അഭയംതേടുക,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്. “ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ നിങ്ങൾക്കെതിരേ ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അദ്ദേഹം നിങ്ങൾക്കെതിരേ ഒരു പദ്ധതി ആവിഷ്ക്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
31 Arise, get you up to a nation that is at ease, that dwells without worry, says Jehovah, that has neither gates nor bars, that dwells alone.
“എഴുന്നേറ്റ് സമാധാനത്തോടെ കഴിയുന്ന ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രത്തെ ആക്രമിക്കുക, ആത്മവിശ്വാസത്തോടെ കഴിയുന്ന ഒരു ജനതയെത്തന്നെ,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്, “കവാടങ്ങളോ ഓടാമ്പലുകളോ ഇല്ലാത്ത ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രത്തെ; നിർഭയരായി ജീവിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ജനതയോടുതന്നെ പോരാടുക.
32 And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil. And I will scatter to all winds those who have the corners of their hair cut off. And I will bring their calamity from every side of them, says Jehovah.
അവരുടെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങൾ കവർച്ചയായും അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലിക്കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ കൊള്ളമുതലായും കൊണ്ടുപോകപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും. തലയുടെ അരികു വടിക്കുന്നവരെ എല്ലാ കാറ്റുകളിലേക്കും ഞാൻ ചിതറിച്ചുകളയും; അവരുടെ നാശം എല്ലാവശങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും ഞാൻ വരുത്തും,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
33 And Hazor shall be a dwelling-place of jackals, a desolation forever. No man shall dwell there, nor shall any son of man sojourn therein.
“ഹാസോർ കുറുനരികൾ വിഹരിക്കുന്ന ഇടവും എന്നേക്കും ശൂന്യസ്ഥലവും ആയിത്തീരും. ആരും അവിടെ പാർക്കുകയില്ല; ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും അവിടെ താമസിക്കുകയില്ല.”
34 The word of Jehovah that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,
യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭത്തിൽ ഏലാമിനെക്കുറിച്ച് യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനുണ്ടായ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്:
35 Thus says Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.
സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഇതാ, ഞാൻ ഏലാമിന്റെ വില്ല് ഒടിക്കും, അവരുടെ ശക്തിയുടെ മുഖ്യധാരയെത്തന്നെ.
36 And upon Elam I will bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds. And there shall be no nation where the outcasts of Elam shall not come.
ആകാശത്തിന്റെ നാലു മൂലകളിൽനിന്നും നാലു കാറ്റുകളെ ഞാൻ ഏലാമിന്മേൽ വരുത്തും; അവരെ ആ നാലു കാറ്റുകളിലേക്കു ചിതറിച്ചുകളയും, ഏലാമിന്റെ ഭ്രഷ്ടന്മാർ പോകാത്ത ഒരു രാജ്യവും ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.
37 And I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before those who seek their life. And I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, says Jehovah. And I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them.

38 And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from there king and rulers, says Jehovah.
ഞാൻ എന്റെ സിംഹാസനം ഏലാമിൽ സ്ഥാപിക്കും, ഞാൻ അവളുടെ രാജാവിനെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
39 But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring back the captivity of Elam, says Jehovah.
