Jeremiah 48
1 Of Moab. Thus says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Woe to Nebo! For it is laid waste. Kiriathaim is put to shame; it is taken. Misgab is put to shame and broken down.
Sobre Moabe. Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Ai de Nebo! Pois foi arruinada; envergonhada está Quiriataim, já foi tomada; Misgabe está envergonhada e espantada.
2 The praise of Moab is no more. In Heshbon they have devised evil against her: Come, and let us cut her off from being a nation. Thou also, O madmen, shall be brought to silence. The sword shall pursue thee.
Já não há mais exaltação em Moabe; em Hesbom tramaram o mal contra ela, [dizendo]: Vinde, e a eliminemos das nações. Também tu, Madmém, serás cortada fora; a espada irá atrás de ti.
3 The sound of a cry from Horonaim: Desolation and great destruction!
[Ouve-se] uma voz de clamor de Horonaim: Ruína e grande destruição!
4 Moab is destroyed. Her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.
Moabe foi destruída; fizeram com que se ouvisse o grito de seus pequenos.
5 For they shall go up by the ascent of Luhith with continual weeping, for at the descent of Horonaim they have heard the distress of the cry of destruction.
Pois na subida de Luíte subirão com grande choro; pois na descida de Horonaim os inimigos [de Moabe] ouviram clamor de destruição.
6 Flee, save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness.
Fugi, livrai vossa vida, e sereis como um arbusto no deserto.
7 For, because thou have trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou also shall be taken. And Chemosh shall go forth into captivity, his priests and his rulers together.
Pois por causa de tua confiança confiaste em tuas obras e em teus tesouros, tu também serás tomada; e Quemos irá ao cativeiro, seus sacerdotes e juntamente seus príncipes.
8 And the destroyer shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape. The valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as Jehovah has spoken.
Pois virá o destruidor a cada uma das cidades, e nenhuma cidade escapará; e perecerá também o vale, e será destruída a planície, pois assim diz o SENHOR.
9 Give wings to Moab, that she may fly and get her away. And her cities shall become a desolation, without any to dwell therein.
Dai asas a Moabe, para que ele saia voando; pois suas cidades se tornarão desertas até não restar quem more nelas.
10 Cursed be he who does the work of Jehovah negligently, and cursed be he who keeps back his sword from blood.
Maldito aquele que fizer enganosamente a obra do SENHOR, e maldito aquele que detiver sua espada do sangue.
11 Moab has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his lees, and has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, nor has he gone into captivity. Therefore his taste remains in him, and his scent is not changed.
Tranquilo esteve Moabe desde sua juventude, e sobre suas impurezas esteve quieto; e não foi esvaziado de vaso em vaso, nem nunca foi ao cativeiro; por isso seu sabor ficou nele, e seu cheiro não mudou.
12 Therefore, behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will send to him those who pour off, and they shall pour him off. And they shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles in pieces.
Por isso eis que vêm dias, diz o SENHOR, em que eu lhe enviarei derramadores que o derramarão; e esvaziarão seus vasos, e romperão seus jarros.
13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel their confidence.
E Moabe se envergonhará de Quemos, assim como a casa de Israel se envergonhou de Betel, [que era] sua confiança.
14 How can ye say, We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war?
Como direis: Somos guerreiros, homens valentes para a guerra?
15 Moab is laid waste, and they have gone up into his cities. And his chosen young men have gone down to the slaughter, says the King, whose name is Jehovah of hosts.
Moabe é destruído, e suas cidades invadidas, e seus melhores rapazes descem ao degoladouro, diz o rei, cujo nome é EU-SOU dos exércitos.
16 The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hastens fast.
Próxima está a vinda da perdição de Moabe; e seu desastre vem com muita pressa.
17 All ye who are round about him, bemoan him, and all ye who know his name, say, How the strong staff has broken, the beautiful rod!
Condoei-vos dele todos vós que estais ao seu redor, e todos vós que sabeis seu nome. Dizei: Como se quebrou a vara forte, o belo cajado!
18 O thou daughter who dwells in Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst, for the destroyer of Moab has come up against thee. He has destroyed thy strongholds.
Desce da [tua] glória, e senta-te no lugar seco, ó moradora, filha de Dibom; pois o destruidor de Moabe subiu contra ti, e arruinou tuas fortalezas.
19 O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and watch. Ask him who flees, and her who escapes. Say, What has been done?
Para-te no caminho, e olha, ó moradora de Aroer; pergunta ao que vai fugindo, e à que escapou, dize: O que aconteceu?
20 Moab is put to shame, for it is broken down. Wail and cry, tell ye it by the Arnon, that Moab is laid waste.
[Responderão]: Moabe está envergonhado, porque foi quebrantado; uivai e gritai; anunciai em Arnom que Moabe foi destruído,
21 And judgment has come upon the plain country: upon Holon, and upon Jahzah, and upon Mephaath,
O julgamento também veio juízo sobre a terra da planície: sobre Holom, sobre Jazá, e sobre Mefate;
22 and upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Beth-diblathaim,
Sobre Dibom, sobre Nebo, e sobre Bete-Diblataim;
23 and upon Kiriathaim, and upon Beth-gamul, and upon Beth-meon,
Sobre Quiriataim, sobre Bete-Gamul, e sobre Bete-Meom;
24 and upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.
Sobre Queriote, sobre Bosra, e sobre todas as cidades da terra de Moabe, as de longe e as de perto.
25 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, says Jehovah.
O poder de Moabe foi cortado, e seu braço quebrado, diz o SENHOR.
26 Make ye him drunken, for he magnified himself against Jehovah. And Moab shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.
Embriagai-o, pois contra o SENHOR se engrandeceu; e Moabe se revolverá sobre seu vômito, e ele também será por escárnio.
27 For was not Israel a derision to thee? Was he found among thieves? For as often as thou speak of him, thou wag the head.
Pois para ti não foi Israel por escárnio? Por acaso ele foi achado entre ladrões, para que balances a cabeça quando falas dele?
28 O ye inhabitants of Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that makes her nest over the mouth of an abyss.
Deixai as cidades, e habitai em rochedos, ó moradores de Moabe; e sejais como a pomba que faz ninho nas brechas da boca da caverna.
29 We have heard of the pride of Moab, that he is very proud, his loftiness, and his pride, and his arrogance, and the haughtiness of his heart.
Temos ouvido a soberba de Moabe, que é soberbo demais, assim como sua arrogância e seu orgulho, sua altivez e a altura de seu coração.
30 I know his wrath, says Jehovah, that it is nothing. His boastings have wrought nothing.
Eu conheço sua insolência, diz o SENHOR; porém não será assim; suas mentiras lhe serão em vão.
31 Therefore I will wail for Moab, yea, I will cry out for all Moab. For they shall mourn the men of Kir-heres.
Por isso eu uivarei por Moabe, e gritarei por todo Moabe; gemerão por causa dos homens de Quir-Heres.
32 With more than the weeping of Jazer I will weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah. Thy branches passed over the sea. They reached even to the sea of Jazer. The destroyer has fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.
Com o choro de Jazer chorarei por ti, ó vide de Sibma; teus sarmentos passaram o mar, [e] chegaram até o mar de Jazer; [porém] o destruidor veio sobre os frutos de teu verão, e sobre tua vindima.
33 And gladness and joy is taken away from the fruitful field and from the land of Moab. And I have caused wine to cease from the winepresses. None shall tread with shouting. The shouting shall be no shouting.
Assim foram tirados a alegria e o regozijo dos campos férteis, e da terra de Moabe: pois fiz cessar o vinho das prensas; já não pisarão [uvas] com júbilo; o grito não será de júbilo.
34 From the cry of Heshbon even to Elealeh, even to Jahaz they have uttered their voice, from Zoar even to Horonaim, to Eglath-shelishiyah. For the waters of Nimrim also shall become desolate.
Houve um grito desde Hesbom até Eleale e até Jaaz; deram sua voz desde Zoar até Horonaim e Eglate-Selísia; pois também as águas de Ninrim serão assoladas.
35 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, says Jehovah, him who offers in the high place, and him who burns incense to his gods.
E eu, diz o SENHOR, farei cessar de Moabe quem sacrifique no lugar alto, e quem ofereça incenso a seus deuses.
36 Therefore my heart sounds for Moab like pipes, and my heart sounds like pipes for the men of Kir-heres. Therefore the abundance that he has gotten is perished.
Portanto meu coração ressoará como flautas por causa de Moab; também meu coração ressoará como flautas pelos homens de Quir-Heres; pois as riquezas que tinham acumulado se perderam;
37 For every head is bald, and every beard clipped. Upon all the hands are cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.
Pois em toda cabeça haverá calva, e toda barba será cortada; sobre todas mãos há arranhões, e sobre todos os lombos há sacos.
38 On all the housetops of Moab and in the streets thereof there is lamentation everywhere. For I have broken Moab like a vessel of which none delights, says Jehovah.
Sobre todas os terraços de Moabe e em suas ruas, em todo ele haverá pranto; pois eu quebrantei a Moabe como a um vaso desagradável, diz o SENHOR.
39 How it is broken down! How they do wail! How Moab has turned the back with shame! So Moab shall become a derision and a horror to all who are round about him.
Como foi quebrantado! Como uivam! Como Moabe virou as costas, e se envergonhou! Assim Moabe servirá de escárnio e de espanto a todos os que estão ao seu redor.
40 For thus says Jehovah: Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread out his wings against Moab.
Pois assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que voará como águia, e estenderá suas asas sobre Moabe.
41 Kerioth is taken, and the strongholds are seized, and the heart of the mighty men of Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
Tomadas são as cidades, e invadidas são as fortalezas; e o coração dos guerreiros de Moabe naquele dia será como o coração de mulher em dores de parto.
42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he has magnified himself against Jehovah.
E Moabe será destruído de modo que deixará de ser povo, pois se engrandeceu contra o SENHOR.
43 Fear and the pit and the snare are upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, says Jehovah.
Medo, cova, e laço [vem] sobre ti, ó morador de Moabe, diz o SENHOR.
44 He who flees from the fear shall fall into the pit, and he who gets up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare. For I will bring upon him, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, says Jehovah.
O que fugir do medo, cairá na cova; e o que subir da cova, ficará preso do laço; porque eu trarei sobre ele, sobre Moabe, o ano de sua punição, diz o SENHOR.
45 Those who fled stand without strength under the shadow of Heshbon. For a fire has gone forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and has devoured the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.
Os que fugiam da força, paravam à sombra de Hesbom; porém fogo saiu de Hesbom, e labareda do meio de Seom, e queimou a testa de Moabe, e o topo da cabeça dos filhos do tumulto.
46 Woe to thee, O Moab! The people of Chemosh is undone, for thy sons are taken away captive, and thy daughters into captivity.
Ai de ti, Moabe! Pereceu o povo de Quemos; pois teus filhos foram levados cativos, e tuas filhas foram em cativeiro.
47 Yet I will bring back the captivity of Moab in the latter days, says Jehovah. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
Porém restaurarei Moabe de seu infortúnio nos últimos dias, diz o SENHOR. Até aqui é o julgamento de Moabe.
