Jeremiah 37
1 And Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned as king, instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.
१आता यहोयाकीमचा मुलगा कोन्या याच्याऐवजी, योशीयाचा मुलगा सिद्कीया हा राजा म्हणून राज्य करीत होता. बाबेलाचा राजा नबुखद्नेस्सराने, सिद्कीयाला यहूदा देशावर राजा केले होते.
2 But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, hearkened to the words of Jehovah, which he spoke by the prophet Jeremiah.
२पण सिद्कीया, त्याच्या सेवकांनी व यहूदा देशाच्या लोकांनी परमेश्वराने यिर्मया संदेष्ट्याच्याद्वारे जी वचने सांगितली होती ती त्यांनी ऐकली नाहीत.
3 And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Pray now to Jehovah our God for us.
३म्हणून राजा सिद्कीयाने शलेम्याचा मुलगा यहूकल व मासेया याजकाचा मुलगा सफन्या ह्यांना पाठवून यिर्मया संदेष्ट्याकडे निरोप सांगितला. ते म्हणाले, “तू, आमच्यावतीने परमेश्वर आमचा देव याच्याजवळ प्रार्थना कर.”
4 Now Jeremiah came in and went out among the people, for they had not put him into prison.
४आता यिर्मया लोकांमध्ये येत व जात होता, कारण आतापर्यंत त्यास बंदिशाळेत टाकले नव्हते.
5 And Pharaoh's army came forth out of Egypt. And when the Chaldeans who were besieging Jerusalem heard news of them, they broke away from Jerusalem.
५मिसरातून फारोचे सैन्य बाहेर आले आणि ज्या खास्द्यांनी यरूशलेमला वेढा घातला होता त्यांनी हे वर्तमान ऐकले आणि यरूशलेम सोडून गेले.
6 Then the word of Jehovah came to the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
६नंतर यिर्मया संदेष्ट्याकडे परमेश्वराचे वचन आले आणि म्हणाले,
7 Thus says Jehovah, the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, who sent you to me to inquire of me: Behold, Pharaoh's army, which has come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.
७“परमेश्वर, इस्राएलाचा देव असे म्हणतो, तुम्ही यहूदाच्या राजाला हे सांगा, कारण माझ्यापासून सल्ला घेण्यासाठी तुम्हास माझ्याकडे पाठविले आहे, पाहा, फारोचे सैन्य, तुम्हास मदत करण्यासाठी आले, त्यांना स्वतःच्या मिसर देशात परत जावे लागेल.
8 And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and they shall take it, and burn it with fire.
८खास्दी परत येतील. ते या नगराविरूद्ध लढतील, ते जिंकून जाळतील.
9 Thus says Jehovah: Do not deceive yourselves, saying, The Chaldeans shall surely depart from us. For they shall not depart.
९परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, खास्दी आम्हापासून निघून जातील असे म्हणून स्वत: ची फसवणूक करून घेऊ नका. कारण ते निघून जाणार नाहीत.
10 For though ye had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans who fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yea they would rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.
१०जरी तुम्हाशी लढणाऱ्या संपूर्ण खास्दी सैन्यावर तुम्ही हल्ला केला, फक्त जखमी माणसे त्यांच्या तंबूत उरले, तरीसुद्धा ते उठून हे शहर जाळतील.”
11 And it came to pass that, when the army of the Chaldeans was broken away from Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh's army,
११जसे फारोचे सैन्य येत होते, तेव्हा खास्द्यांच्या सैन्याने, यरूशलेम सोडले,
12 then Jeremiah went forth out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin to receive his portion there in the midst of the people.
१२तेव्हा यिर्मया, यरूशलेमेतून बन्यामिनाच्या देशात गेला. तो त्याच्या लोकां मध्ये प्रदेशाचा ताबा घेण्यासाठी जाण्यास निघाला.
13 And when he was in the gate of Benjamin, a captain of the ward was there, whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah. And he laid hold on Jeremiah the prophet, saying, Thou are falling away to the Chaldeans.
१३तो जसा बन्यामिनाच्या प्रवेशद्वाराजवळ उभा राहताच, तेथे पहारेकऱ्यांचा प्रमुख होता. तेव्हा हनन्याचा मुलगा शलेम्या याचा मुलगा इरीया त्याचे नाव होते. त्याने यिर्मया संदेष्ट्याला धरले व म्हणाला, “तू फितून खास्द्यांकडे जात आहेस.”
14 Then Jeremiah said, It is false. I am not falling away to the Chaldeans. But he did not hearken to him. So Irijah laid hold on Jeremiah, and brought him to the rulers.
१४परंतु यिर्मया म्हणाला, “हे खरे नाही. मी फितून खास्द्यांकडे जात नाही” पण इरीयाने त्याचे ऐकले नाही. त्यांने यिर्मयाला घेतले आणि अधिकाऱ्यांकडे आणले.
15 And the rulers were angry with Jeremiah, and smote him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe, for they had made that the prison.
१५ते अधिकारी यिर्मयावर रागावले. त्यांनी त्यास मारले आणि त्यास बंदिशाळेत ठेवले, जे योनाथान लेखक याचे घरच होते, कारण ते त्यांनी बंदिशाळेत बदलेले होते.
16 When Jeremiah came into the dungeon-house, and into the cells, and Jeremiah had remained there many days,
१६म्हणून यिर्मयाला तळघरातील कोठडीत ठेवले, तेथे तो पुष्कळ दिवस राहिला.
17 then Zedekiah the king sent, and fetched him. And the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from Jehovah? And Jeremiah said, There is. He also said, Thou shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.
१७मग सिद्कीया राजाने कोणाला तरी बोलाविणे पाठवून त्यास राजावाड्यात आणले. त्याच्या घरात राजाने एकांतात त्यास विचारले, “परमेश्वराकडून काही वचन आहे का?” यिर्मया म्हणाला, “आहे, व पुढे म्हणाला, तुला बाबेलाच्या राजाच्या हाती दिले जाईल.”
18 Moreover Jeremiah said to king Zedekiah, How have I sinned against thee, or against thy servants, or against this people, that ye have put me in prison?
१८मग यिर्मया सिद्कीया राजाला म्हणाला, “मी तुझ्याविरूद्ध अथवा तुझ्या अधिकाऱ्यांविरूद्ध व यरूशलेमेच्या लोकांविरूद्ध काय पाप केले आहे म्हणून मला बंदिशाळेत टाकले आहेस?
19 Where now are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land?
१९तुझे संदेष्टे कोठे आहेत, ज्यांनी तुला भविष्य सांगितले आणि म्हणाले बाबेलचा राजा तुम्हावर किंवा या देशाविरूद्ध येणार नाही?
20 And now hear, I pray thee, O my lord the king. Let my supplication, I pray thee, be presented before thee, that thou not cause me to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.
२०पण आता, हे माझ्या स्वामी राजा ऐक, माझी विनंती तुझ्यासमोर येवो. तू मला परत योनाथान लेखकाच्या घरी पाठवू नकोस, किंवा मी तेथे मरेन.”
21 Then Zedekiah the king commanded, and they committed Jeremiah into the court of the guard. And they gave him a loaf of bread daily out of the bakers' street, until all the bread in the city was spent. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.
२१म्हणून सिद्कीया राजाने हुकूम दिला. त्यांनी यिर्मयाला पहारेकऱ्यांच्या अंगणात ठेवले. नगरातील सर्व भाकर संपेपर्यंत त्यास रस्त्यावरील रोटीवाल्याकडून भाकर द्यावी. अशा रीतीने यिर्मया पहारेकऱ्याच्या अंगणात राहिला.
