< James 5 >
1 Go now, ye rich, weep, howling for your miseries that are approaching.
Ẹ wá nísinsin yìí, ẹ̀yin ọlọ́rọ̀, ẹ máa sọkún kí ẹ sì máa pohùnréré ẹkún nítorí òsì tí ó ń bọ̀ wá ta yín.
2 Your wealth has decayed, and your garments have become moth-eaten.
Ọrọ̀ yín díbàjẹ́, kòkòrò sì ti jẹ aṣọ yín.
3 Your gold and your silver have cankered, and their corrosion will be testimony against you, and will eat your flesh like fire. Ye have hoarded in the last days.
Wúrà òun fàdákà yín díbàjẹ́; ìbàjẹ́ wọn ni yóò sì ṣe ẹlẹ́rìí sí yín, tí yóò sì jẹ ẹran-ara yín bí iná. Ẹ̀yin tí kó ìṣúra jọ de ọjọ́ ìkẹyìn.
4 Behold the wage of the workmen who reaped your fields. The man who was defrauded by you cries out. And the outcries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of hosts.
Kíyèsi i, ọ̀yà àwọn alágbàṣe tí wọ́n ti ṣe ìkórè oko yín, èyí tí ẹ kò san, ń ké rara; àti igbe àwọn tí ó ṣe ìkórè sì ti wọ inú etí Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun.
5 Ye have lived in luxury on the earth, and were self-indulgent. Ye have nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter.
Ẹ̀yin ti jẹ adùn ní ayé, ẹ̀yin sì ti fi ara yín fún ayé jíjẹ; ẹ̀yin ti mú ara yín sanra de ọjọ́ pípa.
6 Ye have condemned, ye have murdered the righteous man. He is not hostile to you.
Ẹ̀yin ti dá ẹ̀bi fún olódodo, ẹ sì ti pa á; ẹni tí kò kọ ojú ìjà sí yín.
7 Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it, until it receives the early and latter rain.
Nítorí náà ará, ẹ mú sùúrù títí di ìpadà wá Olúwa. Kíyèsi i, àgbẹ̀ a máa retí èso iyebíye ti ilẹ̀, a sì mú sùúrù dè é, títí di ìgbà àkọ́rọ̀ àti àrọ̀kúrò òjò.
8 Be ye also patient. Establish your hearts, because the coming of the Lord has approached.
Ẹ̀yin pẹ̀lú, ẹ mú sùúrù; ẹ fi ọkàn yín balẹ̀, nítorí ìpadà wá Olúwa kù sí dẹ̀dẹ̀.
9 Do not grumble, brothers, against each other, so that ye not be judged. Behold, the judge stands before the doors.
Ẹ má ṣe kùn sí ọmọnìkejì yín, ará, kí a má ba à dá a yín lẹ́bi: kíyèsi i, onídàájọ́ dúró ní ẹnu ìlẹ̀kùn.
10 Take an example, my brothers, of evil-suffering and longsuffering, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.
Ará mi, ẹ fi àwọn wòlíì tí ó ti ń sọ̀rọ̀ ní orúkọ Olúwa ṣe àpẹẹrẹ ìyà jíjẹ, àti sùúrù.
11 Behold, we regard those who endured, blessed. Ye have heard of the fortitude of Job, and have seen the outcome of the Lord, that he is very compassionate and merciful.
Sá à wò ó, àwa a máa ka àwọn tí ó fi ara dà ìyà sí ẹni ìbùkún. Ẹ̀yin ti gbọ́ ti sùúrù Jobu, ẹ̀yin sì rí ìgbẹ̀yìn tí Olúwa ṣe; pé Olúwa kún fún ìyọ́nú, ó sì ní àánú.
12 But above all things, my brothers, swear not. Neither by the heaven, nor the earth, nor any other oath, but let your yes be yes, and the no, no, so that ye may not fall into hypocrisy.
Ṣùgbọ́n ju ohun gbogbo lọ, ará mi, ẹ má ṣe ìbúra, ìbá à ṣe fífi ọ̀run búra, tàbí ilẹ̀, tàbí ìbúra-kíbúra mìíràn. Ṣùgbọ́n jẹ́ kí “Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni” yín jẹ́ bẹ́ẹ̀ ni; àti “Bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́” yín jẹ́ bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́; kí ẹ má ba à bọ́ sínú ẹ̀bi.
13 Is any man among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praise.
Inú ẹnikẹ́ni ha bàjẹ́ nínú yín bí? Jẹ́ kí ó gbàdúrà. Inú ẹnikẹ́ni ha dùn? Jẹ́ kí ó kọrin mímọ́.
14 Is any man weak among you? Let him summon the elders of the congregation, and let them pray near him, having anointed him with olive oil in the name of the Lord.
15 And the prayer of faith will rescue him who is depressed, and the Lord will rouse him. And if he should be a man who has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.
Àdúrà ìgbàgbọ́ yóò sì gba aláìsàn náà là, Olúwa yóò sì gbé e dìde; bí ó bá sì ṣe pé ó ti dẹ́ṣẹ̀, a ó dáríjì í.
16 Confess ye the trespasses to each other, and pray for each other so that ye may be healed. A working supplication of a righteous man is very powerful.
Ẹ jẹ́wọ́ ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ yín fún ara yín, kí ẹ sì máa gbàdúrà fún ara yín, kí a lè mú yín láradá. Iṣẹ́ tí àdúrà olódodo ń ṣe ní agbára púpọ̀.
17 Elijah was a man of the same nature as we. And by prayer, he asked for it not to rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.
Ènìyàn bí àwa ni Elijah, ó gbàdúrà gidigidi pé kí òjò kí ó má ṣe rọ̀, òjò kò sì rọ̀ sórí ilẹ̀ fún ọdún mẹ́ta òun oṣù mẹ́fà.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
Ó sì tún gbàdúrà, ọ̀run sì tún rọ̀jò, ilẹ̀ sì so èso rẹ̀ jáde.
19 Brothers, if any man among you may be led astray from the truth, and some man converts him,
Ará, bí ẹnikẹ́ni nínú yín bá ṣìnà kúrò nínú òtítọ́, tí ẹni kan sì yí i padà;
20 let him know that he who converts a sinful man from his wandering way, will save a soul from death, and will hide a multitude of sins.
jẹ́ kí ó mọ̀ pé, ẹni tí ó bá yí ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀ kan padà kúrò nínú ìṣìnà rẹ̀, yóò gba ọkàn kan là kúrò lọ́wọ́ ikú, yóò sì bo ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ mọ́lẹ̀.
