Isaiah 23
1 The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish, for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in. It is revealed to them from the land of Kittim.
Revelação sobre Tiro: Uivai, navios de Társis, pois ela está arruinada, sem sobrar casa alguma, nem entrada [nela]. Desde a terra do Chipre isto [lhes] foi informado.
2 Be still, ye inhabitants of the coast, thou whom the merchants of Sidon, who pass over the sea, have replenished.
Calai-vos, moradores do litoral; vós mercadores de Sidom, que vos enchíeis [pelos] que atravessavam o mar.
3 And on great waters the seed of the Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue, and she was the mart of nations.
E sua renda era os grãos de Sior, a colheita do Nilo, [que vinha] por muitas águas. Ela era o centro de comércio das nações.
4 Be thou ashamed, O Sidon, for the sea has spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying, I have not travailed, nor brought forth, neither have I nourished young men, nor brought up virgins.
Envergonha-te, Sidom; pois o mar falou, a fortaleza do mar disse: Eu não tive dores de parto, nem de mim nasceu criança; nunca criei meninos nem eduquei virgens.
5 When the report comes to Egypt, they shall be greatly pained at the report of Tyre.
Quando as notícias [chegarem] ao Egito, eles se angustiarão com as informações de Tiro.
6 Pass ye over to Tarshish. Wail, ye inhabitants of the coast.
Passai-vos a Társis; uivai, moradores do litoral!
7 Is this your joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days, whose feet carried her afar off to sojourn?
É esta a vossa alegre cidade? A que existia desde os tempos antigos? Eram os pés dela que a levavam para alcançar lugares distantes?
8 Who has purposed this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, whose merchants are rulers, whose traders are the honored of the earth?
Quem foi, pois, que determinou isto contra Tiro, a que dava coroas, que cujos mercadores eram príncipes, e cujos comerciantes eram os mais ilustres da terra?
9 Jehovah of hosts has purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.
Foi o SENHOR dos exércitos que determinou isto, para envergonhar o orgulho de sua beleza, e humilhar a todos os ilustres da terra.
10 Pass through thy land as the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish, there is no restraint any more.
Passa-te como o rio à tua terra, ó filha de Társis, [pois] já não há mais fortaleza.
11 He has stretched out his hand over the sea. He has shaken the kingdoms. Jehovah has given commandment concerning Canaan, to destroy the strongholds of it.
Ele estendeu sua mão sobre o mar, [e] abalou aos reinos; o SENHOR deu uma ordem contra Canaã, para destruir suas fortalezas.
12 And he said, Thou shall no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon. Arise, pass over to Kittim, even there shall thou have no rest.
E disse: Nunca mais te encherás de alegria, ó oprimida virgem, filha de Sidom; levanta-te, passa ao Chipre; e alinda ali não terás descanso.
13 Behold, the land of the Chaldeans. This people once was not. The Assyrian founded it for those who dwell in the wilderness. They set up their towers. They raised up the palaces of it. Then they made it a ruin.
Olhai para a terra dos Caldeus, este que deixou de ser povo. A Assíria a fundou para os que moravam no deserto; levantaram suas fortalezas, e derrubaram seus palácios; transformou-a em ruínas.
14 Howl, ye ships of Tarshish, for your stronghold is laid waste.
Uivai, navios de Társis; porque destruída está vossa fortaleza.
15 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king. After the end of seventy years it shall be to Tyre as in the song of the harlot:
E será naquele dia, que Tiro será esquecida por setenta anos, como dias de um rei; [mas] ao fim de setenta anos, haverá em Tiro [algo] como a canção da prostituta:
16 Take a harp, go about the city, thou harlot who has been forgotten. Make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou may be remembered.
Toma uma harpa, rodeia a cidade, ó prostituta esquecida; toca boa música, [e] canta várias canções, para que tu sejas lembrada.
17 And it came to pass after the end of seventy years, that Jehovah examined Tyre, and she has repented of her gift, that she play the harlot with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
Pois será que, ao fim de setenta anos, o SENHOR visitará a Tiro, e voltará à sua atividade, prostituindo-se com todos os reinos do mundo que há sobre a face da terra.
18 And her merchandise and her pay shall be holiness to Jehovah. It shall not be treasured nor laid up, for her merchandise shall be for those who dwell before Jehovah, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.
Mas seu comércio e seus ganhos como prostituta serão consagrados ao SENHOR; não serão guardados nem depositados; mas seu comércio será para os que habitam perante o SENHOR, para que comam até se saciarem, e tenham roupas de boa qualidade.
