Isaiah 2
1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
Esto es lo que vio Isaías, hijo de Amoz, respecto a Judá y Jerusalén.
2 And it shall come to pass in the latter days, that the mountain of Jehovah's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow to it.
Sucederá en los últimos días que el monte de la casa de Yahvé se establecerá en la cima de los montes, y se elevará por encima de las colinas; y todas las naciones acudirán a ella.
3 And many peoples shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob, and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.
Muchos pueblos irán y dirán, “Ven, subamos al monte de Yahvé, a la casa del Dios de Jacob; y nos enseñará sus caminos, y caminaremos por sus senderos”. Porque la ley saldrá de Sión, y la palabra de Yahvé desde Jerusalén.
4 And he will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples, and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Él juzgará entre las naciones, y decidirá sobre muchos pueblos. Convertirán sus espadas en rejas de arado, y sus lanzas en podaderas. La nación no levantará la espada contra la nación, ni aprenderán más la guerra.
5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of Jehovah.
Casa de Jacob, venid y caminemos a la luz de Yahvé.
6 For thou have forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they are filled with things from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines. And they strike hands with the children of foreigners.
Porque has abandonado a tu pueblo, la casa de Jacob, porque se llenan desde el este, con los que practican la adivinación como los filisteos, y se dan la mano con los hijos de los extranjeros.
7 And their land is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures. Their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots.
Su tierra está llena de plata y oro, ni hay fin de sus tesoros. Sus tierras también están llenas de caballos, ni hay fin de sus carros.
8 Their land is also full of idols. They worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made,
Su tierra también está llena de ídolos. Adoran el trabajo de sus propias manos, lo que sus propios dedos han hecho.
9 and so the common man bows down, and the great man degrades himself. Therefore do not forgive them.
El hombre es abatido, y la humanidad se humilla; por lo tanto no los perdones.
10 Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty.
Entra en la roca, y esconderse en el polvo, ante el terror de Yahvé, y de la gloria de su majestad.
11 The lofty looks of man shall be brought low, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day.
Las miradas altivas del hombre serán abatidas, la arrogancia de los hombres será doblegada, y sólo Yahvé será exaltado en ese día.
12 For there shall be a day of Jehovah of hosts upon all that is proud and haughty, and upon all that is lifted up, and it shall be brought low,
Porque habrá un día de Yahvé de los Ejércitos para todos los soberbios y arrogantes, y por todo lo que se levanta, y será traído bajo
13 and upon all the cedars of Lebanon that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,
para todos los cedros del Líbano, que son altos y elevados, por todos los robles de Basán,
14 and upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up,
por todas las altas montañas, por todas las colinas que se levantan,
15 and upon every lofty tower, and upon every fortified wall,
por cada torre elevada, por cada muro fortificado,
16 and upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant imagery.
para todos los barcos de Tarsis, y para todas las imágenes agradables.
17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low, and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day.
La altivez del hombre se inclinará, y la arrogancia de los hombres será abatida; y sólo Yahvé será exaltado en ese día.
18 And the idols shall utterly pass away.
Los ídolos desaparecerán por completo.
19 And men shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily.
Los hombres entrarán en las cuevas de las rocas, y en los agujeros de la tierra, ante el terror de Yahvé, y de la gloria de su majestad, cuando se levante para sacudir la tierra poderosamente.
20 In that day men shall cast away their idols of silver, and their idols of gold, which have been made for them to worship, to the moles and to the bats,
En ese día, los hombres se desharán de sus ídolos de plata y sus ídolos de oro, que se han hecho para adorar, a los topos y a los murciélagos,
21 to go into the caverns of the rocks, and into the clefts of the ragged rocks, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily.
para entrar en las cavernas de las rocas, y en las hendiduras de las rocas desgarradas, ante el terror de Yahvé, y de la gloria de su majestad, cuando se levante para sacudir la tierra poderosamente.
22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils, for how is he to be accounted of?
Deja de confiar en el hombre, cuyo aliento está en sus narices; pues ¿de qué sirve?
