Isaiah 17
1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
೧ದಮಸ್ಕದ ವಿಷಯವಾದ ದೈವೋಕ್ತಿ. “ಆಹಾ, ದಮಸ್ಕವು ಇನ್ನು ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾಗಿರದೇ ಹಾಳು ದಿಬ್ಬವಾಗಿರುವುದು.
2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken. They shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
೨ಆರೋಯೇರಿನ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ನಿರ್ಜನವಾಗಿ, ಮಂದೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಸರೆಯಾಗುವವು. ಅವು ಯಾರ ಹೆದರಿಕೆಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ತಂಗುವವು.
3 And the fortress shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus. And the remnant of Syria, they shall be as the glory of the sons of Israel, says Jehovah of hosts.
೩ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮಿಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಕೋಟೆಯೂ, ದಮಸ್ಕವು ನಡೆಸುವ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರವೂ ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗುವವು. ಅರಾಮ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ವೈಭವದಂತೆ ಇರುವರು” ಇದು ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ.
4 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall grow lean.
೪“ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ, ಯಾಕೋಬಿನ ಮಾಂಸದ ಕೊಬ್ಬು ಕರಗಿ, ಅದರ ಮಹಿಮೆಯೂ ಕ್ಷೀಣವಾಗುವುದು.
5 And it shall be as when the harvestman gathers the standing grain, and his arm reaps the ears. Yea, it shall be as when he gleans ears in the valley of Rephaim.
೫ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವನು ಪೈರುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತೆನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕತ್ತರಿಸುವ ಹಾಗಿರುವುದು. ಹೌದು, ರೆಫಾಯೀಮ್ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತೆನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಇರುವುದು.
6 Yet there shall be gleanings left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree-two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost branches of a fruitful tree, says Jehovah, the God of Israel.
೬ಆದರೂ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯ ಮರದ ಕಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಉದುರಿಸಿದ ಬಳಿಕ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕೊಂಬೆಯ ತುಟ್ಟತುದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಎರಡು ಮೂರು ಕಾಯಿಗಳು, ಫಲವತ್ತಾದ ಆ ಮರದ ಕೊಂಬೆಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾಲ್ಕೈದು ಕಾಯಿಗಳು ಉಳಿದಿರುವಂತೆ ಹಕ್ಕಲುಹಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದಿರುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
7 In that day men shall look to their maker, and their eyes shall have respect for the Holy One of Israel.
೭ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತನನ್ನೇ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸುವರು ಮತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಸದಮಲಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸುವರು.
8 And they shall not look to the altars, the work of their hands, nor shall they have respect for that which their fingers have made, either the Asherim, or the sun-images.
೮ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಮಾಡಿದ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಗಳನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸದೆ, ತಮ್ಮ ಬೆರಳುಗಳಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ ಅಶೇರವೆಂಬ ವಿಗ್ರಹಸ್ತಂಭಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಸೂರ್ಯಸ್ತಂಭಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
9 In that day their strong cities shall be as the forsaken places in the woodland and on the mountain top, which were forsaken from before the sons of Israel, and it shall be a desolation.
೯ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶದ ಬಲವಾದ ಕೋಟೆಗಳು ಪೂರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಭಯದಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಜನವಾಗಿದ್ದ, ಅದು ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳ ತುದಿಯ ಮೇಲೂ ಕಾಣುವ ಹಾಳು ನಿವೇಶನಗಳಂತಿರುವವು, ಅಂತೂ ದೇಶವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಾಳಾಗಿರುವುದು.
10 For thou have forgotten the God of thy salvation, and have not been mindful of the rock of thy strength. Therefore thou plant pleasant plants, and set it with foreign slips.
೧೦ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ರಕ್ಷಕನಾದ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಮರೆತುಬಿಟ್ಟು, ನಿನ್ನ ಆಶ್ರಯಗಿರಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಿರಲು ನೀನು ಇಷ್ಟವಾದ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ಗಿಡಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟು, ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶಾಂತರದ ಸಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಟಿದ್ದಿ.
11 In the day of thy planting thou hedge it in, and in the morning thou make thy seed to blossom. But the harvest flees away in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.
೧೧ಬೀಜವನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬೇಲಿಕಟ್ಟಿ, ಮರುದಿನ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಮೊಳೆಯುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀ. ಆದರೆ ಬೆಳೆಯನ್ನು ಕುಪ್ಪೆಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿಸುವ ದಿನವು ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಪರೀತ ವ್ಯಥೆಯ ದಿನವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
12 Ah, the uproar of many peoples, who roar like the roaring of the seas, and the rushing of nations, that rush like the rushing of mighty waters!
೧೨ಆಹಾ, ಸಮುದ್ರವು ಭೋರ್ಗರೆಯುವಂತೆ ಭೋರ್ಗರೆಯುವ ಬಹು ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಗದ್ದಲ! ಮಹಾ ಜಲಪ್ರವಾಹಗಳು ಘೋಷಿಸುವಂತೆ ಘೋಷಿಸುವ ಜನಗಳ ಘೋಷ!
13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters, but he shall rebuke them. And they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like the whirling dust before the storm.
೧೩ಹೌದು, ಮಹಾ ಜಲಪ್ರವಾಹಗಳು ಘೋಷಿಸುವಂತೆ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಘೋಷಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸುವಾಗ ಅವರು ದೂರ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಳಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಹೊಟ್ಟಿನಂತೆಯೂ, ಸುಂಟರ ಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತಾಡುವ ಧೂಳಿನಂತೆಯೂ ಅಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಡುವರು.
14 At eventide, behold, terror, and before the morning they are not. This is the portion of those who despoil us, and the lot of those who rob us.
೧೪ಇಗೋ, ಸಂಜೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆದರಿ ಉದಯದೊಳಗಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗುವರು! ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸೂರೆ ಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಇದೇ ಗತಿ. ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಹೊಡೆಯುವವರ ಪಾಡು ಇದೇ.
