Isaiah 14
1 For Jehovah will have compassion on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land. And the sojourner shall join himself with them, and they shall cling to the house of Jacob.
Porque o Senhor se compadecerá de Jacob, e ainda escolherá a Israel e os porá na sua própria terra: e ajuntar-se-ão com eles os estranhos, e se achegarão à casa de Jacob
2 And the peoples shall take them, and bring them to their place. And the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of Jehovah for servants and for handmaids. And they shall take them captive whose captives they were, and they shall rule over their oppressors.
E os povos os receberão, e os levarão aos seus lugares, e a casa de Israel os possuirá por servos e por servas, na terra do Senhor: e cativarão aqueles que os cativaram, e dominarão sobre os seus opressores.
3 And it shall come to pass in the day that Jehovah shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy trouble, and from the hard service in which thou were made to serve,
E acontecerá que no dia em que Deus vier a dar-te descanço do teu trabalho, e do teu tremor, e da dura servidão com que te fizeram servir,
4 that thou shall take up this taunt against the king of Babylon, and say, How has the oppressor ceased, the golden city ceased!
Então levantarás este dito contra o rei de Babilônia, e dirás: Como já cessou o opressor? como já cessou a cidade dourada?
5 Jehovah has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers,
Já quebrantou o Senhor o bastão dos ímpios e o cetro dos dominadores.
6 who smote the peoples in wrath with a continual stroke, who ruled the nations in anger, with a persecution that none restrained.
Aquele que feria aos povos com furor, com praga sem cessar, o que com ira dominava sobre as nações agora é perseguido, sem que alguém o possa impedir.
7 The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet. They break forth into singing.
Já descança, já está sossegada toda a terra: exclamam com júbilo.
8 Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou are laid low, no hewer has come up against us.
Até as faias se alegram sobre ti, e os cedros do líbano, dizendo: Desde que tu ai estás por terra já ninguém sobe contra nós que nos possa cortar.
9 Sheol from beneath is moved for thee, to meet thee at thy coming. It stirs up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth. It has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. (Sheol h7585)
O inferno debaixo se turbou por ti, para te sair ao encontro na tua vinda: desperta por ti os mortos, e todos os príncipes da terra, e faz levantar dos seus tronos a todos os reis das nações. (Sheol h7585)
10 They shall all answer and say to thee, Have thou also become weak as we? Have thou become like us?
Estes todos responderão, e te dirão: Tu também adoeceste como nós, e foste semelhante a nós.
11 Thy pomp is brought down to Sheol, and the noise of thy viols. The worm is spread under thee, and worms cover thee. (Sheol h7585)
Já foi derribada no inferno a tua soberba com o som dos teus alaúdes: os bichinhos debaixo de ti se estenderão, e os bichos te cobrirão. (Sheol h7585)
12 How thou are fallen from heaven, O day-star, son of the morning! How thou are cut down to the ground, who laid the nations low!
Como caíste desde o céu, ó estrela da manhã, filha da alva do dia? como foste cortado por terra, tu que debilitavas as nações?
13 And thou said in thy heart, I will ascend into heaven. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, and I will sit upon the mount of congregation, in the outermost parts of the north.
E tu dizias no teu coração: Eu subirei ao céu, por cima das estrelas de Deus exaltarei o meu trono, e no monte da congregação me assentarei, da banda dos lados do norte.
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. I will make myself like the Most High.
Subirei sobre as alturas das nuvens, e serei semelhante ao altíssimo.
E contudo derribado serás no inferno, aos lados da cova. (Sheol h7585)
16 Those who see thee shall gaze at thee. They shall consider thee, saying, Is this the man who made the earth to tremble, who shook kingdoms,
Os que te virem te contemplarão, considerar-te-ão, e dirão: É este o varão que fazia estremecer a terra, e que fazia tremer os reinos?
17 who made the world as a wilderness, and overthrew the cities of it, who did not let loose his prisoners to their home?
Que punha o mundo como o deserto, e assolava as suas cidades? que a seus presos não deixava ir soltos para suas casas?
18 All the kings of the nations, all of them, sleep in glory, each one in his own house.
Todos os reis das nações, todos quantos eles são, jazem com honra, cada um na sua casa.
19 But thou are cast forth away from thy sepulcher like an abominable branch, clothed with the slain, who are thrust through with the sword, who go down to the stones of the pit, as a dead body trodden under foot.
Porém tu és lançado da tua sepultura, como um renovo abominável, como um vestido de mortos atravessados à espada, como os que descem ao covil de pedras, como corpo morto e atropelado.
20 Thou shall not be joined with them in burial, because thou have destroyed thy land. Thou have slain thy people. The seed of evildoers shall not be named forever.
Com eles não serás ajuntado na sepultura; porque destruíste a tua terra e mataste o teu povo: a semente dos malignos não será nomeada para sempre.
21 Prepare ye slaughter for his sons for the iniquity of their fathers, that they not rise up, and possess the earth, and fill the face of the world with cities.
Preparai a matança para os seus filhos pela maldade de seus pais, para que não se levantem, e possuam a terra, e encham o mundo de cidades.
22 And I will rise up against them, says Jehovah of hosts, and cut off from Babylon name and remnant, and son and son's son, says Jehovah.
Porque me levantarei contra eles, diz o Senhor dos exércitos, e desarraigarei de Babilônia o nome, e os resíduos, e o filho, e o neto, diz o Senhor.
23 I will also make it a possession for the porcupine, and pools of water. And I will sweep it with the broom of destruction, says Jehovah of hosts.
E pô-la-ei por possessão das corujas e lagoas de águas: e varre-la-ei com vassoura de perdição, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.
24 Jehovah of hosts has sworn, saying, Surely, as I have thought, so shall it come to pass, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand,
O Senhor dos exércitos jurou, dizendo: Como pensei, assim sucederá, e como determinei, assim se efetuará.
25 that I will break the Assyrian in my land, and tread him under foot upon my mountains. Then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulder.
Quebrantarei a Assyria na minha terra, e nas minhas montanhas a atropelarei, para que o seu jugo se aparte deles e a sua carga se desvie dos seus ombros.
26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth, and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.
Este é o conselho que se consultou sobre toda esta terra; e esta é a mão que está estendida sobre todas as nações.
27 For Jehovah of hosts has purposed, and who shall annul it? And his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
Porque o Senhor dos exércitos o determinou; quem pois o invalidará? e a sua mão estendida está; quem pois a tornará atráz?
28 In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.
No ano em que morreu o rei Achaz, aconteceu esta carga.
29 Rejoice not, O Philistia, all of thee, because the rod that smote thee is broken. For out of the serpent's root shall come forth an adder, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.
Não te alegres, ó tu, toda a Philistia, de que é quebrantada a vara que te feria; porque da raiz da cobra sairá um basilisco, e o seu fruto será uma serpente ardente, voadora.
30 And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety. And I will kill thy root with famine, and thy remnant shall be slain.
E os primogênitos dos pobres serão apascentados, e os necessitados se deitarão seguros; porém farei morrer de fome a tua raiz, e ele matará os teus resíduos.
31 Howl, O gate, cry, O city. Thou are melted away, O Philistia, all of thee. For there comes a smoke out of the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks.
Dá uivos, ó porta, grita, ó cidade, que já tu, ó Philistia, estás toda derretida; porque do norte vem um fumo, e nenhum solitário haverá nas suas congregações.
32 What then shall a man answer the messengers of the nation? That Jehovah has founded Zion, and in her shall the afflicted of his people take refuge.
Que se responderá pois aos mensageiros do povo? Que o Senhor fundou a Sião, para que os opressos do seu povo nela tenham refúgio.
