Hebrews 2
1 Because of this we ought to give more earnest heed to the things that were heard, lest we might slip away.
Zatorej smo dolžni dati iskrenejšo pozornost besedam, ki smo jih slišali, da jim ne bi kadarkoli pustili izmuzniti se.
2 For if the word spoken through agents became certain, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward,
Kajti če je bila beseda, govorjena po angelih, neomajna in je vsak prestopek ter neposlušnost prejel pravično povračilo nagrade;
3 how will we escape, having neglected so great a salvation? Which first, having taken to be spoken by the Lord, was verified for us by those who heard;
kako bomo ušli mi, če zanemarimo tako veliko rešitev duš, o kateri je najprej začel govoriti Gospod in nam je bila potrjena po tistih, ki smo ga slišali;
4 God also testifying simultaneously by signs and wonders, and by various powers and distributions of the Holy Spirit according to his will.
[ko] njim Bog prav tako prinaša pričevanje, tako z znamenji kakor s čudeži in z različnimi čudežnimi močmi ter darovi Svetega Duha, glede na svojo lastno voljo?
5 For he did not subject the coming world to agents, about which we speak.
Kajti angelom ni položil v podreditev sveta, ki pride, o katerem govorimo.
6 But a certain man has somewhere testified, saying, What is man, that thou remember him? Or a son of man, that thou help him?
Temveč je nekdo na nekem kraju pričeval, rekoč: »Kaj je človek, da misliš nanj? Ali človeški sin, da ga obiskuješ?
7 Thou made him a little something less than the agents. Thou crowned him with glory and honor.
Naredil si ga malo nižjega od angelov; kronaš ga s slavo in častjo in postavljaš ga nad dela svojih rok.
8 Thou subordinated all things under his feet. For in subordinating all things to him, he left nothing not subordinate to him. But now we do not yet see all things subordinated to him.
Vse stvari si podvrgel pod njegova stopala.« Kajti ker je vse podvrgel pod njega, ni pustil ničesar, kar ni položeno pod njega. Vendar sedaj še ne vidimo vseh stvari položenih pod njega.
9 But we see Jesus who has been made a little something less than the agents, who, because of the suffering of death, has been crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God he would taste of death for every man.
Toda vidimo Jezusa, ki je bil postavljen malo nižje od angelov, zaradi smrtnega trpljenja, kronanega s slavo in častjo; da bi po Božji milosti okusil smrt za vsakega človeka.
10 For it was fitting for him, through whom are all things, and because of whom are all things, having brought many sons to glory, to make the pathfinder of their salvation fully perfect through sufferings.
Kajti spodobilo se je njemu, za katerega so vse stvari in po katerem so vse stvari v prinašanju mnogih sinov v slavo, da naredi poveljnika njihove rešitve duš popolnega skozi trpljenja.
11 For both he who sanctifies and those being sanctified are all of one, because of which reason he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
Kajti vsi so iz enega, tako kdor posvečuje kakor tisti, ki so posvečeni. Zaradi tega razloga ni osramočen, da jih kliče brate,
12 saying, I will declare thy name to my brothers. In the midst of the congregation I will sing praise to thee.
rekoč: »Oznanjal bom tvoje ime svojim bratom, na sredi cerkve ti bom prepeval hvalo.«
13 And again, I will be a man who has trusted in him. And again, Behold, I and the children that God has given me.
In ponovno: »Svoje trdno upanje bom položil vanj.« In ponovno: »Glej, jaz in otroci, ki mi jih je dal Bog.«
14 Since therefore the children have partaken of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise shared the same things, so that through death he might make him who has the power of death impotent, that is, the devil.
Ker ste potem kot otroci soudeleženci mesa in krvi, je tudi sam prav tako vzel del od istega, da bi skozi smrt lahko uničil tistega, ki je imel smrtno oblast, to je hudiča
15 And he might liberate these, as many as throughout all their lifetime were deserving of bondage, with a specter of death.
in osvobodil tiste, ki so bili zaradi strahu pred smrtjo vse svoje življenje podrejeni sužnosti.
16 For he certainly did not embrace agents, but he embraced the seed of Abraham.
Kajti resnično nase ni prevzel narave angelov, temveč je nase prevzel Abrahamovo seme.
17 Therefore he was obligated to be made like his brothers in accordance with all things, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things toward God, in order to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
Zatorej se je zanj v vseh stvareh spodobilo, da je bil narejen podoben svojim bratom, da bi bil lahko usmiljen in zvest véliki duhovnik v stvareh, ki se nanašajo na Boga, da opravi pobotanje za grehe ljudi.
18 For in that he himself has suffered, having been tempted, he is able to help those being tempted.
Kajti ker je on sam trpel in bil skušan, je zmožen okrepiti te, ki so skušani.
