Genesis 49
1 And Jacob called to his sons, and said, gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the latter days.
ഇതിനുശേഷം യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ വിളിച്ച് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞത്: “എന്റെ ചുറ്റും കൂടിനിൽക്കുക; ഭാവിയിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്തു സംഭവിക്കുമെന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞുതരാം.
2 Assemble yourselves, and hear, ye sons of Jacob, and hearken to Israel your father.
“യാക്കോബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരേ, കൂടിവന്നു ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക; നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവായ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകേൾക്കുക.
3 Reuben, thou are my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the pre-eminence of dignity, and the pre-eminence of power.
“രൂബേൻ എന്റെ ശക്തിയും എന്റെ പൗരുഷത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യഫലവും ആഭിജാത്യത്തിന്റെ വൈശിഷ്ട്യവും വീര്യത്തിന്റെ മഹിമയുംതന്നെ.
4 Boiling over as water, thou shall not have the pre-eminence, because thou went up to thy father's bed, then thou defiled it; he went up to my couch.
വെള്ളംപോലെ ഇളകിമറിയുന്നവനേ, നീ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനാകുകയില്ല. നിന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ കിടക്കമേൽ നീ കയറി, എന്റെ ശയ്യയെ നീ അശുദ്ധമാക്കിയല്ലോ.
5 Simeon and Levi are brothers, weapons of violence are their swords.
“ശിമെയോനും ലേവിയും സഹോദരങ്ങൾ; അവരുടെ വാളുകൾ ഹിംസയുടെ ആയുധങ്ങൾ.
6 O my soul, come not thou into their council, to their assembly, my glory, be not thou united, for in their anger they slew a man, and in their self-will they hocked an ox.
എന്റെ ഉള്ളം അവരുടെ ആലോചനയിൽ കൂടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ. എന്റെ ഹൃദയം അവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ചേരാതിരിക്കട്ടെ. തങ്ങളുടെ ക്രോധത്തിൽ അവർ മനുഷ്യരെ കൊന്നു; ക്രൂരതയിൽ അവർ കാളകളുടെ കുതിഞരമ്പു വെട്ടി.
7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce, and their wrath, for it was cruel. I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
അവരുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപവും കഠിനരോഷവും ശപിക്കപ്പെടട്ടെ. അതെത്ര ഉഗ്രം! അവരുടെ ക്രോധം, അതെത്ര ക്രൂരം! അവരെ ഞാൻ യാക്കോബിൽ വിഭജിക്കുകയും ഇസ്രായേലിൽ ചിതറിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
8 Judah, thy brothers shall praise thee. Thy hand shall be on the neck of thine enemies. Thy father's sons shall bow down before thee.
“യെഹൂദയേ, നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർ നിന്നെ പുകഴ്ത്തും; നിന്റെ കൈ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കഴുത്തിന്മേൽ ഇരിക്കും; നിന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ നിന്നെ നമിക്കും.
9 Judah is a lion's whelp. From the prey, my son, thou have gone up. He stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as a lioness, who shall rouse him up?
യെഹൂദാ, ഒരു സിംഹക്കുട്ടി; എന്റെ മകനേ, നീ ഇരയുടെ അടുക്കൽനിന്ന് മടങ്ങുന്നു, സിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെ അവൻ കുനിഞ്ഞു പതുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നു. സിംഹിയെപ്പോലെ കിടക്കുന്ന അവനെ ഉണർത്താൻ ആരാണു മുതിരുക?
10 The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs, and to him shall the obedience of the peoples be.
അവകാശി വരികയും ജനതകൾ അവിടത്തെ ആജ്ഞാനുവർത്തികൾ ആയിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുവരെ ചെങ്കോൽ യെഹൂദയിൽനിന്നും അധികാരദണ്ഡ് അവന്റെ പാദങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽനിന്നും മാറിപ്പോകുകയില്ല.
11 Binding his foal to the vine, and his donkey's colt to the choice vine, he has washed his garments in wine, and his vesture in the blood of grapes.
അവൻ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയിൽ തന്റെ കഴുതയെയും വിശിഷ്ടമുന്തിരിവള്ളിയിൽ തന്റെ കഴുതക്കുട്ടിയെയും കെട്ടും. അവൻ തന്റെ വസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ വീഞ്ഞിലും അങ്കികൾ ദ്രാക്ഷാരസത്തിലും അലക്കുന്നു.
12 His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.
അവന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ വീഞ്ഞിനെക്കാൾ കറുത്തതും പല്ലുകൾ പാലിനെക്കാൾ വെളുത്തതുമത്രേ.
13 Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea, and he shall be for a haven of ships. And his border shall be upon Sidon.
“സെബൂലൂൻ കടൽക്കരയിൽ പാർക്കും; അവൻ കപ്പലുകൾക്ക് ഒരു തുറമുഖം; അവന്റെ അതിരുകൾ സീദോൻവരെ വ്യാപിക്കും.
14 Issachar is a strong donkey, couching down between the sheepfolds.
“യിസ്സാഖാർ കുരുത്തുറ്റ കഴുത; അവൻ തീക്കുണ്ഡങ്ങൾക്കരികെ കിടക്കുന്നു.
15 And he saw a resting place that it was good, and the land that it was pleasant. And he bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant under task work.
വിശ്രമസ്ഥലം നല്ലതെന്നും ദേശം ആനന്ദപ്രദമെന്നും അവൻ കണ്ടു; അവൻ തന്റെ തോൾ ചുമടിനു കുനിച്ചു, കഠിനവേലയ്ക്ക് തന്നെത്താൻ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.
16 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
“ഇസ്രായേൽഗോത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നെന്ന നിലയിൽ ദാൻ സ്വജനത്തിനു ന്യായപാലനംചെയ്യും.
17 Dan shall be a serpent in the way, an adder in the path, that bites the horse's heels, so that his rider falls backward.
ദാൻ വഴിയരികിൽ സർപ്പവും പാതയിൽ അണലിയുംതന്നെ; അതു കുതിരയുടെ കുതികാലിൽ കടിക്കും; അങ്ങനെ കുതിരമേൽ സവാരിചെയ്യുന്നവൻ മലർന്നുവീഴും.
18 I have waited for thy salvation, O Jehovah.
“യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ അവിടത്തെ രക്ഷയ്ക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
19 Gad, a troop shall press upon him, but he shall press upon their heel.
“ഗാദിനെ കൊള്ളസംഘം ആക്രമിക്കും; എന്നാൽ അവൻ അവരെ, അവരുടെ കുതികാലുകളിൽത്തന്നെ ആക്രമിക്കും.
20 Out of the Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.
“ആശേരിന്റെ ആഹാരം പുഷ്ടിയുള്ളത്; രാജകീയ സ്വാദുഭോജ്യങ്ങൾ അവൻ പ്രദാനംചെയ്യും.
21 Naphtali is a hind let loose. He gives goodly words.
“നഫ്താലി, മനോഹരമായ മാൻകിടാങ്ങളെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്ന സ്വതന്ത്രയായ മാൻപേട.
22 Joseph is a fruitful bough, a fruitful bough by a fountain, his branches run over the wall.
“യോസേഫ് ഫലപൂർണമായ വൃക്ഷം; നീരുറവയ്ക്കരികെ നിൽക്കുന്ന ഫലസമൃദ്ധമായ വൃക്ഷംതന്നെ. അതിന്റെ ശാഖകൾ മതിലിന്മേൽ പടരുന്നു.
23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and persecute him,
വില്ലാളികൾ അവനെ വല്ലാതെ വിഷമിപ്പിച്ചു; അവർ എയ്ത് അവനെ ആക്രമിച്ചു.
24 but his bow abode in strength. And the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob (From there is the shepherd, the stone of Israel),
അവന്റെ വില്ല് സ്ഥിരതയോടെ നിന്നു; അവന്റെ ഭുജങ്ങൾ ബലവത്തായി നിലനിന്നു; യാക്കോബിന്റെ വല്ലഭന്റെ കരത്താൽ, ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ പാറയായ ഇടയന്റെ നാമത്താൽത്തന്നെ.
25 even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee, and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that couches beneath, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb.
നിന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ദൈവം നിന്നെ സഹായിക്കും; സർവശക്തൻ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും. മീതേ ആകാശത്തിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളാലും ആഴത്തിൽ കിടക്കുന്ന ആഴിയുടെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളാലും, മുലയുടെയും ഗർഭത്തിന്റെയും അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളാലുംതന്നെ.
26 The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my forefathers to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills. They shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers.
നിന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ പുരാതന പർവതങ്ങളുടെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളെക്കാളും ശാശ്വതഗിരികളുടെ സമ്പത്തിനെക്കാളും വിശിഷ്ടമത്രേ. ഇവയെല്ലാം യോസേഫിന്റെ ശിരസ്സിൽ, തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ പ്രഭുവായവന്റെ നെറ്റിയിൽ ആവസിക്കട്ടെ.
27 Benjamin is a wolf that ravens. In the morning he shall devour the prey, and at evening he shall divide the spoil.
“ബെന്യാമീൻ കടിച്ചുകീറുന്ന ചെന്നായ്; അതിരാവിലെ അവൻ ഇരയെ വിഴുങ്ങുന്നു; സന്ധ്യാസമയത്ത് അവൻ കൊള്ള പങ്കിടുന്നു.”
28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is it that their father spoke to them and blessed them; every man according to his blessing he blessed them.
ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു ഗോത്രങ്ങളും ഇവയാണ്; ഇങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു ഓരോരുത്തനും അനുയോജ്യമായ അനുഗ്രഹം നൽകിക്കൊണ്ട് അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവരുടെ പിതാവ് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞത്.
29 And he ordered them, and said to them, I am to be gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,
പിന്നെ യാക്കോബ് അവർക്ക് ഈ നിർദേശങ്ങൾ നൽകി: “ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരാൻ പോകുന്നു. കനാനിലെ മമ്രേയ്ക്കു സമീപമുള്ളതും ഹിത്യനായ എഫ്രോന്റെ പക്കൽനിന്നും അബ്രാഹാം വയലോടുകൂടെ ശ്മശാനസ്ഥലമായി വിലയ്ക്കു വാങ്ങിയതുമായ മക്പേലാനിലത്തിലെ ഗുഹയിൽ, ഹിത്യനായ എഫ്രോന്റെ നിലത്തിലെ ഗുഹയിൽത്തന്നെ—എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടൊപ്പം—എന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ അടക്കംചെയ്യണം.
30 in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a burying place.
31 There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife, there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife, and there I buried Leah,
അവിടെയാണ് അബ്രാഹാമിനെയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറയെയും അടക്കിയത്; അവിടെയാണ് യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ റിബേക്കയെയും അടക്കിയത്; ഞാൻ ലേയയെ അടക്കിയതും അവിടെത്തന്നെ.
32 the field and the cave that is in it, which was purchased from the sons of Heth.
ആ വയലും അതിലെ ഗുഹയും ഹിത്യരിൽനിന്ന് വിലയ്ക്കു വാങ്ങിയതാണ്.”
33 And when Jacob made an end of charging his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the spirit, and was gathered to his people.
യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർക്ക് നിർദേശങ്ങൾ നൽകിക്കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ കാലുകൾ കിടക്കയിൽ കയറ്റിവെച്ചിട്ട് അന്ത്യശ്വാസം വലിച്ചു; തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേർന്നു.
