Genesis 27
1 And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his elder son, and said to him, My son. And he said to him, Here I am.
依撒格年紀已老，雙目失明，看不見了，遂叫了他的大兒厄撒烏來，對他說：「我兒! 」他回答說：「我在這裏。」
2 And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death.
他說：「你看，我已年老，不知道那天就死。
3 Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take venison for me.
現在你拿器械、箭囊和弓，往田間去打點獵物，
4 And make savory food for me, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat, that my soul may bless thee before I die.
照我的嗜好給我作成美味，拿來給我吃，好叫我在未死以前祝福你。」
5 And Rebekah heard when Isaac spoke to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it.
依撒格對他的兒子厄撒烏說這話時，黎貝加聽見了。厄撒烏就到田間去給父親打獵，
6 And Rebekah spoke to Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak to Esau thy brother, saying,
黎貝加對自己的兒子雅各伯說：「我聽見你父親對你哥哥厄撒烏說：
7 Bring venison for me, and make savory food for me, that I may eat, and bless thee before Jehovah before my death.
你去給我打點獵物來，作成美味，叫我吃了，好在死前當著上主的面祝福你。」
8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee.
現在，我兒，要聽從我吩咐你的話。
9 Go now to the flock, and fetch me two good kids of the goats from there. And I will make them savory food for thy father, such as he loves.
到羊群裏去，給我拿兩隻肥美的小山羊來，我要照你父親的嗜好，給他作成美味，
10 And thou shall bring it to thy father, that he may eat, so that he may bless thee before his death.
你端給父親吃，好叫他死前祝福你。」
11 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man.
雅各伯對母親黎貝加說：「但是我哥哥渾身是毛，我卻皮膚光滑，
12 My father will perhaps feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver. And I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing.
萬一我父親摸我，必以為我哄騙他，我必招來咒罵，而不是祝福。」
13 And his mother said to him, Upon me be thy curse, my son. Only obey my voice, and go fetch them for me.
母親對他說：「我兒，咒罵歸於我，你只管聽我的話，去給我拿來。」
14 And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother. And his mother made savory food, such as his father loved.
他遂拿了來，交給了他的母親，他母親就照他父親的嗜好作成了美味。
15 And Rebekah took the goodly garments of Esau her elder son, which were with her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son.
黎貝加又將家中所存的大兒厄撒烏最好的衣服，給她小兒雅各伯穿上；
16 And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the smooth of his neck.
又用小山羊的皮，包在他的手上和他光滑的頸上，
17 And she gave the savory food and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob.
然後將自己作好的美味和餅，放在他兒子雅各伯的手裏。
18 And he came to his father, and said, My father. And he said, Here I am. Who are thou, my son?
雅各伯來到他父親前說：「我父! 」他答說：「我在這裏! 我兒，你是誰﹖」
19 And Jacob said to his father, I am Esau thy firstborn. I have done according as thou bade me. Arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me.
雅各伯對父親說：「我是你長子厄撒烏。我已照你吩咐的作了。請坐起來，吃我作的野味，好祝福我。」
20 And Isaac said to his son, How is it that thou have found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because Jehovah thy God sent me good speed.
依撒格對他兒子說：「我兒! 你怎麼這樣快就找著了﹖」雅各伯答說：「因為上主你的天主使我碰得好。」
21 And Isaac said to Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not.
依撒格對雅各伯說：「我兒! 你前來，讓我摸摸，看你是不是我兒厄撒烏﹖」
22 And Jacob went near to Isaac his father. And he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.
雅各伯就走近他父親依撒格前；依撒格摸著他說：「聲音是雅各伯的聲音，手卻是厄撒烏的手。」
23 And he did not discern him, because his hands were hairy as his brother Esau's hands. So he blessed him.
依撒格沒有分辨出來，因為他的手，像他哥哥厄撒烏的手一樣有毛，就祝福了他。
24 And he said, Are thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am.
隨後說：「你真是我兒厄撒烏嗎﹖」雅各伯答說：「我是。」
25 And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he ate. And he brought wine to him, and he drank.
依撒格說：「我兒! 遞給我，叫我吃了你作的野味，好祝福你。」雅各伯於是遞過去，他吃了；又給他拿了酒來，他也喝了。
26 And his father Isaac said to him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son.
他父親依撒烏就對他說：「我兒! 你前來吻我。」
27 And he came near, and kissed him. And he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field that Jehovah has blessed.
他就前去吻了父親。他父親一聞到他衣服上的香氣，就祝福他說：「看! 我兒子的香氣，像上主祝福的肥田的香氣。
28 And God give thee of the dew of heaven, and of the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and new wine.
惟願天主賜與你天上的甘露，土地的肥沃，五穀美酒的豐裕!
29 Let peoples serve thee, and nations bow down to thee. Be lord over thy brothers, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee. Cursed be he who curses thee, and blessed be he who blesses thee.
願眾民福事你，萬國叩拜你! 願你作你兄弟的主人，你母親的兒子叩拜你! 凡詛咒你的，必受詛咒；凡祝福你的，必受祝福。」
30 And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarcely gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
依撒格一祝福了雅各伯，雅各伯剛由他父親依撒格面前出來，他哥哥厄撒烏打獵回來了。
31 And he also made savory food, and brought it to his father. And he said to his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that thy soul may bless me.
他也作了美味，給他父親端來，對他父親說：「我父! 請起來吃，你兒預備的野味，好祝福我。」
32 And Isaac his father said to him, Who are thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy firstborn, Esau.
他父親依撒格對他說：「你是誰﹖」他答說：「我是你兒，你長子厄撒烏。」
33 And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who then is he who has taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou came, and have blessed him? Yea, he shall be blessed.
依撒格不禁戰慄起來，驚問說：「那麼，是誰打了獵物給我送了來﹖並且在你未來以前，我已吃了，已祝福了他；他從此必蒙祝福。」
34 When Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with an exceedingly great and bitter cry, and said to his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.
厄撒烏一聽見他父親說出這話，就放聲哀號，對他父親說：「我父，請你也祝福我! 」
35 And he said, Thy brother came with guile, and has taken away thy blessing.
父親答說：「你弟弟用詭計來奪去了你的祝福。」
36 And he said, Is not he rightly name Jacob? For he has supplanted me these two times. He took away my birthright, and, behold, now he has taken away my blessing. And he said, Have thou not reserved a blessing for me?
厄撒烏說：「他不是名叫雅各伯嗎﹖他已兩次欺騙了我：以前奪去了我長子的名分，現在又奪去了我的祝福。」繼而問說：「你沒有給我留下祝福嗎﹖」
37 And Isaac answered and said to Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brothers I have given to him for servants, and I have sustained him with grain and new wine. And what then shall I do for thee, my son?
依撒格回答厄撒烏說：「看，我已立他作你的主人，將所有的兄弟都給他作僕人，將五穀美酒都供給他了。我兒，我還能為你作什麼﹖」
38 And Esau said to his father, Have thou but one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.
厄撒烏對父親說：「我父，你只有一個祝福嗎﹖我父，你也得祝福我。」厄撒烏就放聲大哭。
39 And Isaac his father answered and said to him, Behold, of the fatness of the earth shall be thy dwelling, and of the dew of heaven from above.
他父親依撒格回答他說：「看，你住的地方必缺乏肥沃的土地，天上的甘露。
40 And by thy sword thou shall live, and thou shall serve thy brother. And it shall come to pass, when thou shall break loose, that thou shall shake his yoke from off thy neck.
你要憑仗刀劍生活，要服事你的弟弟；但你一強盛起來，將由你的頸上擺脫他的束縛。」
41 And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him. And Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand. Then I will kill my brother Jacob.
厄撒烏因為他父親祝福了雅各伯，便懷恨雅各伯，心下思念說「為父親居喪的日期已近，到時我必要殺死我弟弟雅各伯。」
42 And the words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah. And she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said to him, Behold, thy brother Esau comforts himself concerning thee, to kill thee.
有人告訴了黎貝加他大兒子厄撒烏所說的話；她便派人叫了她小兒雅各伯來，對他說：「看，你哥哥厄撒烏想要殺你洩恨。
43 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice, and arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran.
現在，我兒! 你得聽我的話，起身逃往哈蘭我哥哥拉班那裏去，
44 And tarry with him a few days, until thy brother's fury turns away,
與他住些時日，直到你哥哥忿怒消失了。
45 until thy brother's anger turns away from thee, and he forgets that which thou have done to him. Then I will send, and fetch thee from there. Why should I be bereaved of you both in one day?
幾時你哥哥對你息了怒，忘了你對他作的事，我就派人去，從那裏接你回來。為什麼我在一日內要喪失你們兩個人呢﹖」
46 And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth. If Jacob takes a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these, of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?
黎貝加就對依撒格說：「為了這兩個赫特女人，我厭惡得要死；假使雅各伯也從這地的女人中娶一個像這樣的赫特女人為妻，我還活著做什麼﹖」
