Genesis 14
1 And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim,
೧ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿನಾರಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಮ್ರಾಫೆಲನು, ಎಲ್ಲಜಾರಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅರಿಯೋಕನು, ಏಲಾಮಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಕೆದೊರ್ಲಗೋಮರನು, ಗೋಯಿಮದ ಅರಸನಾದ ತಿದ್ಗಾಲನು ಈ ನಾಲ್ವರು ಈಗಿನ ಲವಣಸಮುದ್ರ ಎನ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸಿದ್ದೀಮ್,
2 that they made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar).
೨ತಗ್ಗು ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದ ಸೊದೋಮಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಬೆರಗನು, ಗೊಮೋರದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಬಿರ್ಶಗನು, ಅದ್ಮಾಹದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಶಿನಾಬನು, ಚೆಬೋಯಿಮನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಶೆಮೇಬರನ, ಬೇಲಗ (ಅಂದರೆ ಚೋಗರದ) ಎಂಬ ಐದು ಅರಸರ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
3 All these joined together in the valley of Siddim (the same is the Salt Sea).
೩ಈ ಐದು ಅರಸರು ಈಗಿನ ಲವಣಸಮುದ್ರ ಎನ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸಿದ್ದೀಮ್, ತಗ್ಗಿನ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದರು.
4 They served Chedorlaomer twelve years, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.
೪ಬೆರಗ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಈ ಐದು ಅರಸರು ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ವರ್ಷ ಕೆದೊರ್ಲಗೋಮರನಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿದ್ದು ಹದಿಮೂರನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದರು.
5 And in the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer came, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaim in Ashteroth-karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh-kiriathaim,
೫ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆದೊರ್ಲಗೋಮರನೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ್ದ ರಾಜರೂ ಬಂದು ಅಷ್ಟರೋತ್ ಕರ್ನಯಿಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರೆಫಾಯರನ್ನೂ ಹಾಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜೂಜ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಶಾವೆಕಿರ್ಯಾತಯಿಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಏಮಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಸೋಲಿಸಿದರು.
6 and the Horites on their mount Seir, to Elparan, which is by the wilderness.
೬ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಸೇಯೀರೆಂಬ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಹೋರಿಯರನ್ನು, ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಮರಳುಗಾಡಿನ ಹತ್ತಿರವಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಪಾರಾನಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿದನು.
7 And they returned, and came to En-mishpat (the same is Kadesh), and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, who dwelt in Hazazon-tamar.
೭ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಕಾದೇಶ್ ಎನ್ನುವ ಎನ್ಮಿಷ್ಟಾಟಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯರ ಸಮಸ್ತ ನಾಡನ್ನೂ ಹಚಚೋನ್ ತಾಮರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಅಮೋರಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಗೆದ್ದರು.
8 And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar), and they set the battle in array against them in the valley of Siddim,
೮ಆಗ ಸೊದೋಮ್, ಗೊಮೋರ, ಅದ್ಮಾಹ, ಚೆಬೋಯಿಮ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಚೋಗರೆಂಬ ಬೇಲಗದ ರಾಜರು ಹೊರಟು ಅವರಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿ,
9 against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings against the five.
೯ಅಂದರೆ ಏಲಾಮಿನ ರಾಜನಾದ ಕೆದೊರ್ಲಗೋಮರ್, ಗೋಯಿಮದ ರಾಜನಾದ ತಿದ್ಗಾಲ, ಶಿನಾರ್ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಮ್ರಾಫೆಲ್, ಎಲ್ಲಸಾರಿನ ರಾಜನಾದ ಅರಿಯೋಕ ಇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಸಿದ್ದೀಮ್ ಎಂಬ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ದಂಡನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಮಂದಿ ರಾಜರು ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ರಾಜರನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಿದರು.
10 Now the valley of Siddim was full of slime pits. And the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and they fell there. And those who remained fled to the mountain.
೧೦ಆದರೆ ಸಿದ್ದೀಮ್ ತಗ್ಗು ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಕಲ್ಲರಗಿನ ಕೆಸರುಗುಣಿಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿತ್ತು. ಸೊದೋಮ್ ಗೊಮೋರಗಳ ರಾಜರ ಕಡೆಯವರು ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವಾಗ ಆ ಗುಣಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದು ಸತ್ತರು; ಉಳಿದವರು ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು.
11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their food, and went their way.
೧೧ಗೆದ್ದ ಆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಅರಸರು ಸೊದೋಮ್ ಗೊಮೋರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಸೂರೆಮಾಡಿ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನೂ ದವಸವನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು.
12 And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.
೧೨ಸೊದೋಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನ ತಮ್ಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಲೋಟನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಆಸ್ತಿ ಸಹಿತ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು.
13 And some man came who had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew. Now he dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner. And these were allies with Abram.
೧೩ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವನೊಬ್ಬನು, ಇಬ್ರಿಯನಾದ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು. ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ಅಮೋರಿಯನಾದ ಮಮ್ರೆಯನ ಮೋರೆ ತೋಪಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಮಮ್ರೆಯನಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಕೋಲ ಮತ್ತು ಆನೇರ ಎಂಬ ಸಹೋದರರಿದ್ದರು; ಇವರಿಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನಿಗೂ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯಿತ್ತು.
14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued as far as Dan.
೧೪ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮನ ಮಗನು ಸೆರೆಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ಬೆಳೆದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಿತರಾದ ಮುನ್ನೂರ ಹದಿನೆಂಟು ಮಂದಿ ಆಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಟು ಆ ರಾಜರನ್ನು ದಾನೂರಿನವರೆಗೂ ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿದನು.
15 And he divided himself against them by night, he and his servants, and smote them, and pursued them to Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.
೧೫ಅವನು ರಾತ್ರಿ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ದಂಡನ್ನು ಎರಡು ಭಾಗಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ಭಟರೊಡನೆ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು, ಹೊಡೆದು, ದಮಸ್ಕ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಉತ್ತರಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹೋಬಾ ಊರಿನ ತನಕ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿದ್ದನು.
16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his brother Lot, and his goods, and also the women, and the people.
೧೬ರಾಜರು ಅಪಹರಿಸಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡನು. ತನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಲೋಟನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಬಿಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನೂ, ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು.
17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him, after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer and the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh (the same is the King's Valley).
೧೭ಅವನು ಕೆದೊರ್ಲಗೋಮರನ್ನೂ ಅವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇದ್ದ ರಾಜರನ್ನೂ ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೊದೋಮಿನ ಅರಸನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ತಗ್ಗು ಎನ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಶಾವೆ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡನು.
18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine. And he was priest of God Most High.
೧೮ಸಾಲೇಮಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಮೆಲ್ಕೀಚೆದೆಕನು ಸಹ ಬಂದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನೂ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಇವನು ಪರಾತ್ಪರನಾದ ದೇವರ ಯಾಜಕನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.
೧೯ಇವನು ಅಬ್ರಾಮನನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿ, “ಭೂಮ್ಯಾಕಾಶವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದ ಪರಾತ್ಪರನಾದ ದೇವರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವು ಅಬ್ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ದೊರೆಯಲಿ;
20 And blessed be God Most High, who has delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And Abram gave him a tenth of all.
೨೦ಪರಾತ್ಪರನಾದ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಶತ್ರುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ತಾನು ಗೆದ್ದು ತಂದಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಸ್ತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತನೆಯ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಯಾಜಕನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
21 And the king of Sodom said to Abram, Give me the men, and take the goods to thyself.
೨೧ಸೊದೋಮಿನ ಅರಸನು, ಅಬ್ರಾಮನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಬಿಡಿಸಿ ತಂದ ಜನರನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸು; ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀನೇ ತೆಗೆದುಕೋ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lifted up my hand to Jehovah, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth,
೨೨ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು, ಸೊದೋಮಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ,
23 that I will not take a thread nor a shoe latchet nor anything that is thine, lest thou should say, I have made Abram rich,
೨೩“ಒಂದು ದಾರವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಕೆರದ ಬಾರನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ನಿನ್ನದರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದನ್ನೂ ನಾನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಭೂಮ್ಯಾಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದ ಪರಾತ್ಪರನಾದ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕೈ ಎತ್ತಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ‘ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಾದನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಆಸ್ಪದವಾಗಬಾರದು, ನನಗೆ ಏನೂ ಬೇಡ.’
24 except only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre. Let them take their portion.
೨೪ಆಳುಗಳು ತಿಂದದ್ದು ಹೊರತು ನನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯವರಾದ ಆನೇರ ಎಷ್ಕೋಲ ಮಮ್ರೆಯರಿಗೆ ಬರತಕ್ಕ ಪಾಲು ಮಾತ್ರ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಇರಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
