Galatians 3
1 O foolish Galatians, who bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was earlier described among you, crucified?
O nespametni Galačani, kdo vas je uročil, da ne bi ubogali resnice, pred čigar očmi je bil očitno postavljen Jezus Kristus, križan med vami?
2 I only want to learn this from you. Did ye receive the Spirit from works of law, or from a listening ear of faith?
Samo to hočem izvedeti od vas: »Ali ste prejeli Duha z deli postave ali s poslušnostjo veri?«
3 Are ye so foolish, having begun in Spirit, are ye now made perfect by flesh?
Ali ste tako nespametni? Ali ste, začenši z Duhom, sedaj popolni v mesu?
4 Did ye suffer so many things in vain? If it is indeed in vain.
Ali ste toliko stvari pretrpeli zaman? Če bi bile vendarle zaman.
5 He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you and who works miracles among you, is it from works of law or from a listening ear of faith?
On torej, ki vam daje Duha in med vami dela čudeže, ali jih dela po delih postave ali po poslušnosti veri?
6 Just as Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness.

7 Ye know therefore that those from faith, these are sons of Abraham.
Spoznajte torej, da so Abrahamovi otroci tisti, ki so iz vere.
8 And the scripture having foreseen that God makes the Gentiles righteous from faith, proclaimed the good news in advance to Abraham: In thee all the nations will be blessed.
In ker je pismo slutilo, da bo Bog pogane opravičil po veri, je poprej oznanjalo evangelij Abrahamu, rekoč: ›V tebi bodo blagoslovljeni vsi narodi.‹
9 So then those from faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.
Tako so torej tisti, ki so iz vere, blagoslovljeni z zvestim Abrahamom.
10 For as many as are from works of law are under a curse, for it is written, Cursed is every man who does not continue in all things written in the book of the law, to do them.
Kajti kolikor jih je iz del postave, so pod prekletstvom, kajti pisano je: ›Preklet je vsak, kdor ne vztraja v vseh stvareh, ki so pisane v knjigi postave, da jih izvrši.‹
11 But that no man is made righteous by law before God, is evident, because, The righteous man will live from faith.
Toda očitno je to, da v Božjih očeh noben človek ni opravičen s postavo, kajti: ›Pravični bo živel iz vere.‹
12 And the law is not from faith, but the man who does them will live in them.
Postava pa ni iz vere, temveč: ›Človek, ki jih izvršuje, bo živel po njih.‹
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, Cursed is every man who hangs on a tree.
Kristus nas je odkupil od prekletstva postave, ko je za nas postal prekletstvo, kajti pisano je: ›Preklet je vsak, kdor visi na drevesu.‹
14 So that the blessing of Abraham might occur for the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through the faith.
Da bi Abrahamov blagoslov lahko po Jezusu Kristusu prešel na pogane, da bi mi po veri lahko prejeli obljubo Duha.
15 Brothers (I speak according to a man), in the same way of a man, no man annuls or adds to a contract that has been ratified.
Bratje, govorim po človeških običajih: »Čeprav je to samo človeška zaveza, vendar če je potrjena, je noben človek ne razveljavlja ali dodaja k njej.«
16 Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, And to the seeds, as of many, but as of one, And to thy seed, who is Christ.
Torej obljube so bile izrečene Abrahamu in njegovemu semenu. Ni rekel: ›In semenom, ‹ kakor mnogim; temveč kakor enemu: ›In tvojemu semenu, ‹ ki je Kristus.
17 And I say this, a covenant previously confirmed by God in Christ, the law, which happened four hundred and thirty years after, does not annul in order to make the promise useless.
In pravim to, da zaveze, ki je bila prej potrjena od Boga v Kristusu, postava, ki je bila štiristo trideset let kasneje, ne more razveljaviti, da bi obljubo storila brez učinka.
18 For if the inheritance is from law, it is no longer from promise. But God has given it to Abraham through promise.
Kajti če je dediščina po postavi, le-ta ni več po obljubi; toda Bog jo je Abrahamu dal po obljubi.
19 Why then the law? It was added on account of transgressions, until the seed would come to whom it was promised, which was arranged through agents in the hand of a mediator.
Čemu potem služi postava? Dodana je bila zaradi prestopkov, dokler ne bi prišel potomec, ki mu je bila dana obljuba; in ta je bila odrejena po angelih v roko posrednika.
20 Now a mediator is not of one, but God is one.
Torej posrednik ni posrednik enega, toda Bog je eden.
21 Is the law therefore against the promises of God? May it not happen! For if a law was given that could make alive, truly righteousness would be from law.
Ali je potem postava zoper Božje obljube? Bog ne daj, kajti če bi bila dana postava, ki bi lahko dala življenje, bi bila pravičnost resnično po postavi.
22 But scripture confined all things under sin, so that the promise from faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
Toda pismo je vse zaprlo pod greh, da bi bila lahko tem, ki verujejo, dana obljuba po veri Jezusa Kristusa.
23 But before faith came we were kept in custody under law, having been confined for faith that was going to be revealed.
Toda preden je prišla vera, smo bili držani pod postavo, zaprti veri, ki naj bi se razodela kasneje.
24 So that the law became our schoolmaster for Christ, so that we might be made righteous from faith.
Zatorej je bila postava naša vzgojiteljica, da nas privede h Kristusu, da bi bili mi lahko opravičeni iz vere.
25 But faith having come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Toda potem, ko je prišla vera, nismo več pod vzgojiteljico.
26 For ye are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
Kajti vi vsi ste Božji otroci po veri v Kristusa Jezusa.
27 For as many as were immersed into Christ have put on Christ.
Kajti tako veliko, kot vas je bilo krščenih v Kristusa, ste oblekli Kristusa.
28 There is no Jew nor Greek, there is no bondman nor freeman, there is no male and female, for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Ni niti Juda niti Grka, ni niti sužnja niti svobodnega, ni niti moškega niti ženske; kajti vsi vi ste eno v Kristusu Jezusu.
29 And if ye are Christ's, then ye are Abraham's seed and heirs according to promise.
Če pa ste Kristusovi, potem ste Abrahamovo seme in dediči glede na obljubo.
