< Ezra 1 >
1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of Jehovah by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
Awo mu mwaka ogw’olubereberye ogw’obufuzi bwa Kuulo kabaka wa Buperusi, ekigambo Mukama kye yayogerera mu Yeremiya ne kituukirira, Mukama n’akoma ku mutima gwa Kuulo kabaka w’e Buperusi okulangirira mu bwakabaka bwe bwonna, n’okukiteeka mu buwandiike nti,
2 Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth has Jehovah, the God of heaven, given me, and he has charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
“Bw’ati bw’ayogera Kuulo kabaka w’e Buperusi nti, “‘Obwakabaka bwonna obw’omu nsi Mukama Katonda w’eggulu abumpadde, era annonze okumuzimbira yeekaalu e Yerusaalemi mu Yuda.
3 Whoever there is among you of all his people, his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of Jehovah, the God of Israel (he is God), which is in Jerusalem.
Omuntu yenna mu mmwe abantu be, Katonda we abeere naye, agende e Yerusaalemi mu Yuda addaabirize yeekaalu ya Mukama, Katonda wa Isirayiri, Katonda ali mu Yerusaalemi.
4 And whoever is left, in any place where he sojourns, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, besides the freewill offering for the house of God which is in Jerusalem.
Na buli Muyisirayiri eyasigalawo gy’ali, abantu abo baabeeramu, banaamuwa ffeeza ne zaabu, n’ebintu n’ebisolo ebirundibwa, obutasaako ebiweebwayo bye bawaayo ku bwabwe ebya yeekaalu ya Katonda eri mu Yerusaalemi.’”
5 Then the heads of fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, even all whose spirit God had stirred, rose up to go up to build the house of Jehovah which is in Jerusalem.
6 And all those who were round about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, besides all that was willingly offered.
