Ezra 9
1 Now when these things were done, the rulers drew near to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.
Da das alles war ausgerichtet, traten zu mir die Obersten und sprachen: Das Volk Israel und die Priester und Leviten sind nicht abgesondert von den Völkern in Ländern nach ihren Greueln, nämlich der Kanaaniter, Hethiter, Pheresiter, Jebusiter, Ammoniter, Moabiter, Ägypter und Amoriter;
2 For they have taken of their daughters for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the peoples of the lands. Yea, the hand of the heads and rulers has been chief in this trespass.
denn sie haben derselben Töchter genommen sich und ihren Söhnen und den heiligen Samen gemein gemacht mit den Völkern in Ländern. Und die Hand der Obersten und Ratherren war die vornehmste in dieser Missetat.
3 And when I heard this thing, I tore my garment and my robe, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down confounded.
Da ich solches hörete, zerriß ich meine Kleider und meinen Rock und raufte mein Haupthaar und Bart aus und saß einsam.
4 Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel were assembled to me, because of the trespass of those of the captivity, and I sat confounded until the evening oblation.
Und es versammelten sich zu mir alle, die des HERRN Wort, des Gottes Israels, fürchteten um der großen Vergreifung willen; und ich saß einsam bis an das Abendopfer.
5 And at the evening oblation I arose up from my humiliation, even with my garment and my robe torn, and I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands to Jehovah my God,
Und um das Abendopfer stund ich auf von meinem Elend und zerriß meine Kleider und meinen Rock; und fiel auf meine Kniee und breitete meine Hände aus zu dem HERRN, meinem Gott,
6 and I said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God, for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our guiltiness has grown up to the heavens.
und sprach: Mein Gott, ich schäme mich und scheue mich, meine Augen aufzuheben zu dir, mein Gott; denn unsere Missetat ist über unser Haupt gewachsen, und unsere Schuld ist groß bis in den Himmel.
7 Since the days of our fathers we have been exceedingly guilty to this day. And for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to plunder, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.
Von der Zeit unserer Väter an sind wir in großer Schuld gewesen bis auf diesen Tag und um unserer Missetat willen sind wir und unsere Könige und Priester gegeben in die Hand der Könige in Ländern, ins Schwert, ins Gefängnis, in Raub und in Scham des Angesichts, wie es heutigestages gehet.
8 And now for a little moment grace has been shown from Jehovah our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.
Nun aber ist ein wenig und plötzlich Gnade von dem HERRN, unserm Gott, geschehen, daß uns noch etwas Übriges ist entronnen, daß er uns gäbe einen Nagel an seiner heiligen Stätte, daß unser Gott unsere Augen erleuchtete und gäbe uns ein wenig Leben, da wir Knechte sind.
9 For we are bondmen, yet our God has not forsaken us in our bondage, but has extended loving kindness to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the ruins of it, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
Denn wir sind Knechte, und unser Gott hat uns nicht verlassen, ob wir Knechte sind, und hat Barmherzigkeit zu uns geneiget vor den Königen in Persien, daß sie uns das Leben lassen und erhöhen das Haus unsers Gottes und aufrichten seine Verstörung und gebe uns einen Zaun in Juda und Jerusalem.
10 And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? For we have forsaken thy commandments,
Nun, was sollen wir sagen, unser Gott, nach diesem, daß wir deine Gebote verlassen haben,
11 which thou have commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, to which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land through the uncleanness of the peoples of the lands, through their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their filthiness.
die du durch deine Knechte, die Propheten, geboten hast und gesagt: Das Land, darein ihr kommt zu erben, ist ein unrein Land, durch die Unreinigkeit der Völker in Ländern in ihren Greueln, damit sie es hie und da voll Unreinigkeit gemacht haben?
12 Now therefore do not give your daughters to their sons, neither take their daughters to your sons, nor seek their peace or their prosperity forever, that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your sons forever.
So sollt ihr nun eure Töchter nicht geben ihren Söhnen und ihre Töchter sollt ihr euren Söhnen nicht nehmen und suchet nicht ihren Frieden noch Gutes ewiglich, auf daß ihr mächtig werdet und esset das Gut im Lande und beerbet es auf eure Kinder ewiglich.
13 And after all that has come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great guilt, seeing that thou our God have punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and have given us such a remnant,
Und nach dem allem, das über uns kommen ist um unserer bösen Werke und großer Schuld willen, hast du, unser Gott, unserer Missetat verschonet und hast uns eine Rettung gegeben, wie es da stehet.
14 shall we again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the peoples who do these abominations? Would thou not be angry with us till thou had consumed us, so that there should be no remnant, nor any to escape?
Wir aber haben uns umgekehret und deine Gebote lassen fahren, daß wir uns mit den Völkern dieser Greuel befreundet haben. Willst du denn über uns zürnen, bis daß es gar aus sei, daß nichts Übriges noch keine Errettung sei?
15 O Jehovah, the God of Israel, thou are righteous, for we are left a remnant that is escaped, as it is this day. Behold, we are before thee in our guiltiness, for none can stand before thee because of this.
HERR, Gott Israels, du bist gerecht; denn wir sind überblieben, eine Errettung, wie es heutigestages stehet. Siehe, wir sind vor dir in unserer Schuld, denn um deswillen ist nicht zu stehen vor dir.
