Ezekiel 39

1 And thou, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus says the lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, ruler of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal.

"Du, Menschensohn! Weissage gegen Gog und sprich. So spricht der Herr, der Herr: 'Fürwahr, ich will an dich, du Gog, Großfürst von Mesech und von Tubal.

2 And I will turn thee about, and will lead thee on, and will cause thee to come up from the outermost parts of the north, and I will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel.

Dich leite ich und bring dich aus dem hohen Norden und führe dich auf das Gebirge Israels.

3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.

Da schlag ich deinen Bogen dir aus der Linken und lasse deine Pfeile deiner rechten Hand entsinken.

4 Thou shall fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy hordes, and the peoples who are with thee. I will give thee to the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.

Auf Israels Gebirge sollst du fallen, du und all deine Scharen, die Völker um dich her. Raubvögeln, allen möglichen, den wilden Tieren gebe ich zum Fraß dich hin.

5 Thou shall fall upon the open field, for I have spoken it, says the lord Jehovah.

Auf freiem Felde bleibst du liegen; ich sage es.' Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn.

6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and on those who dwell securely in the isles. And they shall know that I am Jehovah.

'Ein Feuer sende ich auf Magog nieder und auch auf die, die auf den Inseln friedlich wohnen, daß sie erfahren, daß ich der Herr.

7 And I will make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel, nor will I allow my holy name to be profaned any more. And the nations shall know that I am Jehovah, the Holy One in Israel.

Ich mache meinen heiligen Namen kund inmitten meines Volkes Israel. Ich laß nicht länger meinen heiligen Namen mehr entweihen. Die Heidenwelt soll innewerden, daß ich, der Herr, ein Heiliger in Israel.

8 Behold, it comes, and it shall be done, says the lord Jehovah. This is the day of which I have spoken.

Fürwahr, es kommt; so gut ist's, wie geschehen.' Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn. 'Das ist der Tag, von dem ich sprach.

9 And those who dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall make fires of the weapons and burn them, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the hand staves, and the spears. And they shall make fires of them seven years,

Dann kommen aus den Städten Israels Bewohner und zünden Feuer an. Mit Rüstungen und Schilden zünden sie es an, mit Tartschen, Bogen, Pfeilen, Keulen, Spießen und unterhalten sieben Jahre lang ein Feuer.

10 so that they shall take no wood out of the field, nor cut down any out of the forests, for they shall make fires of the weapons. And they shall plunder those who plundered them, and rob those who robbed them, says the lord Jehovah.

Vom Felde holen sie kein Holz und fällen keines in den Wäldern. Sie unterhalten nur mit diesen Rüstungen das Feuer, berauben die, die sie beraubt, und plündern die, die sie geplündert.' Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn.

11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give to Gog a place for burial in Israel: the valley of those who pass through on the east of the sea. And it shall stop those who pass through, and they shall bury Gog and all his multitude there. And they shall call it The valley of Hamon-gog.

'Ich gebe Gog dort einen Ort an jenem Tag zum Grab in Israel, das Tal der Wanderer ostwärts vom Meere, und jenes sperrt den Wanderern den Weg. Daselbst begräbt man Gog und seine ganze Schar und heißt es "Tal der Scharen Gogs".

12 And the house of Israel shall be burying them seven months, that they may cleanse the land.

An ihnen hat Israels Haus wohl an die sieben Monde zu begraben, um so das Land zu reinigen.

13 Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them, and it shall be to them a renown in the day that I shall be glorified, says the lord Jehovah.

Das ganze Volk des Landes muß begraben helfen. Zum Ruhm dient ihm der Tag, an dem ich mich verherrliche.' Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn.

14 And they shall set apart men of continual employment, who shall pass through the land. And, with those who pass through, those that bury those who remain upon the face of the land, to cleanse it, after the end of seven months they shall search.

'Und eigne Männer wählt man aus, die in dem Lande Nachschau halten, zu diesen, die nachsehen, ob noch im Lande jemand übrig sei, die andern zu begraben, um es so zu reinigen. Nach sieben Monden sollen sie mit Nachforschen beginnen.

15 And those who pass through the land shall pass through, and when any man sees a man's bone, then he shall set up a sign by it till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamon-gog.

Wenn diese Nachschauhaltenden das Land durchmustern, und sie sehn ein menschliches Gebein, alsdann errichten sie ein Zeichen neben ihm, bis es die Totengräber in dem Tal der Scharen Gogs begraben können.

16 And Hamonah shall also be the name of a city. Thus they shall cleanse the land.

Auch heißt davon Hamona eine Stadt; so reinigt man das Land.'

17 And thou, son of man, thus says the lord Jehovah: Speak to the birds of every sort, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come. Gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh and drink blood.

Du aber, Menschensohn", so spricht der Herr, der Herr: "Ruf jetzt den Vögeln und allen den Beflügelten und allem Wild des Feldes: 'Versammelt euch und kommt herbei! Versammelt euch von allen Seiten zu meinem Opfermahl, das ich für euch geschlachtet, ein großes Schlachtfest auf den Bergen Israels!' Da sollt ihr Fleisch zum Fressen und Blut zum Trinken haben.

18 Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the rulers of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan.

Ja, Fleisch von Kriegern sollt ihr fressen und Blut von Erdenfürsten trinken, von Widdern, Lämmern, Böcken, Farren, Mastvieh von Basan insgesamt.

19 And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.

Fett sollt ihr essen bis zur Sättigung und Blut bis zur Berauschung trinken von meinem Opfer, das ich euch geschlachtet.

20 And ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, says the lord Jehovah.

Ihr sollt an meinem Tisch euch sättigen an Rossen und an Zugtieren, an Streitern und allerlei Kriegsleuten." Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn.

21 And I will set my glory among the nations. And all the nations shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.

"Da mache ich den Heiden sichtbar meine Herrlichkeit, und alle Heiden schauen die Gerechtigkeit, von mir geübt, und fühlen meine Hand, die ich auf sie gelegt.

22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am Jehovah their God, from that day and forward.

Das Haus von Israel wird alsdann inne, daß ich, der Herr, ihr Schutzgott bin von diesem Tage an und fernerhin.

23 And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they trespassed against me, and I hid my face from them. So I gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they fell all of them by the sword.

Auch überzeugen sich die Heiden, daß nur um seiner Sünde willen das Haus Israel in die Verbannung zog, daß ich vor ihnen barg mein Angesicht, sie preisgab ihren Feinden, daß sie durchs Schwert hinstürzten allzumal.

24 I did to them according to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions. And I hid my face from them.

So, wie ihr unrein Wesen, ihre Missetaten es verdienten, tat ich ihnen und barg mein Angesicht vor ihnen."

25 Therefore thus says the lord Jehovah: Now I will bring back the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel. And I will be jealous for my holy name.

So spricht deshalb der Herr, der Herr: "Ich bringe Jakobs weggeführtes Volk zurück, erbarme mich des ganzen Hauses Israel und eifre so für meinen heiligen Namen.

26 And they shall bear their shame, and all their trespasses by which they have trespassed against me, when they shall dwell securely in their land. And none shall make them afraid

Alsdann verlernen sie ihr schändliches Benehmen und alle ihre Untreue, die sie an mir verübt, wenn sie in ihrem Lande sorglos wohnen, von niemand aufgeschreckt.

27 when I have brought them back from the peoples, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations.

Wenn ich sie erst zurückgebracht aus jenen Völkern und sie gesammelt aus den Ländern ihrer Feinde, dann will ich mich an ihnen auch erweisen als Heiliger vor vieler Heiden Augen.

28 And they shall know that I am Jehovah their God, in that I caused them to go into captivity among the nations, and have gathered them to their own land. And I will leave none of them any more there,

Und sie erkennen dann, daß ich der Herr, ihr Gott, daß ich sie zu den Heiden in die Verbannung führte und sie in ihre Heimat wieder sammelte, wobei ich keinen dort zurückgelassen.

29 nor will I hide my face any more from them. For I have poured out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, says the lord Jehovah.

Mein Antlitz berge ich nicht mehr vor ihnen; ich gieße meinen Geist auf das Haus Israel." Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn.
