Ezekiel 27
1 The word of Jehovah came again to me, saying,
Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
2 And thou, son of man, take up a lamentation over Tyre,
Et toi, fils de l'homme, élève sur Tyr une complainte,
3 and say to Tyre, O thou that dwells at the entry of the sea, that is the merchant of the peoples to many isles, thus says the lord Jehovah: Thou, O Tyre, have said, I am perfect in beauty.
et dis à Tyr: Toi qui es établie aux abords de la mer, qui portes le commerce des peuples dans les îles nombreuses! ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Tyr, tu dis: Je suis parfaite en beauté!
4 Thy borders are in the heart of the seas. Thy builders have perfected thy beauty.
Ton territoire est au sein des mers; tes architectes rendirent ta beauté accomplie:
5 They have made all thy planks of fir trees from Senir. They have taken a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for thee.
des cyprès de Sénir ils ont fait tous tes lambris; ils ont pris des cèdres du Liban pour t'en faire un mât;
6 Of the oaks of Bashan they have made thine oars. They have made thy benches of ivory inlaid in boxwood, from the isles of Kittim.
des chênes de Basan ils ont fait tes rames, et tes bancs d'ivoire enchâssé dans le buis des îles de Cittim;
7 Of fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was thy sail, that it might be to thee for an ensign. Blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was thine awning.
tu déployais pour voiles le lin broché de l'Egypte, la pourpre violette et écarlate des îles d'Élisa formait tes tentures;
8 The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were thy rowers. Thy wise men, O Tyre, were in thee; they were thy pilots.
les habitants de Sidon et d'Arvad étaient tes rameurs; tu avais, ô Tyr, des hommes experts, ils étaient tes marins;
9 The old men of Gebal and the wise men thereof were thy caulkers in thee. All the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to deal in thy merchandise.
tu avais chez toi les anciens de Gébal et ses habiles pour réparer tes lézardes; tu avais chez toi tous les vaisseaux de la mer, et leurs marins pour faire l'échange de tes marchandises.
10 Persia and Lud and Put were in thine army, thy men of war. They hung the shield and helmet in thee. They set forth thy comeliness.
Persans, et Lydiens, et Libyens étaient dans tes armées, c'étaient tes hommes de guerre; ils suspendaient chez toi le bouclier et le casque, ils te donnaient de la splendeur.
11 The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and valorous men were in thy towers. They hung their shields upon thy walls round about. They have perfected thy beauty.
Les enfants d'Arvad et tes propres soldats se tenaient sur tes murs de toutes parts, et des braves étaient sur tes tours; ils suspendaient leurs pavois à tes murs de toutes parts, ils rendaient ta beauté accomplie.
12 Tarshish was thy merchant because of the multitude of all kinds of riches, with silver, iron, tin, and lead. They traded for thy wares.
Tarsis trafiquait avec toi, car tu avais en nombre toutes sortes de biens; d'argent, de fer, d'étain et de plomb ils fournissaient tes marchés.
13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants. They traded the persons of men, and vessels of brass for thy merchandise.
Javan, Thubal et Mésech étaient tes trafiquants; ils échangeaient avec toi des âmes d'hommes et des meubles d'airain.
14 Those of the house of Togarmah traded for thy wares with horses and war-horses and mules.
Les hommes de la maison de Thogarma de chevaux, de cavaliers et de mulets fournissaient tes marchés.
15 The men of Dedan were thy merchants. Many isles were the mart of thy hand. They brought thee in exchange horns of ivory and ebony.
Les enfants de Dedan étaient tes trafiquants; de nombreuses îles trafiquaient par tes mains; elles te donnaient des cornes d'ivoire et de l'ébène en paiement.
16 Syria was thy merchant because of the multitude of thy handiworks. They traded for thy wares with emeralds, purple, and embroidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and rubies.
La Syrie trafiquait avec toi à cause du nombre de tes objets d'art; d'escarboucles, de pourpre et de tissus brochés, et de lin, et de coraux, et de grenat ils fournissaient tes marchés.
17 Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants. They traded for thy merchandise wheat of Minnith, and pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.
Juda et le pays d'Israël trafiquaient avec toi; ils échangeaient avec toi le froment de Minnith, et les gâteaux, et le miel, et l'huile et le baume.
18 Damascus was thy merchant for the multitude of thy handiworks, because of the multitude of all kinds of riches, with the wine of Helbon, and white wool.
Damas, à cause du nombre de tes objets d'art, et de toutes sortes de biens que tu avais en abondance, faisait avec toi le commerce du vin de Helbon, et d'une laine d'une éclatante blancheur.
19 Vedan and Javan traded with yarn for thy wares. Bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were among thy merchandise.
Vedan et Javan apportaient des tissus à tes marchés: le fer travaillé, la casse et le calamus étaient échangés avec toi.
20 Dedan was thy merchant in precious cloths for riding.
Dedan faisait avec toi le commerce des housses pour monter à cheval.
21 Arabia, and all the rulers of Kedar, they were the merchants of thy hand, in lambs, and rams, and goats. In these they were thy merchants.
L'Arabie et tous les princes de Cédar trafiquaient par tes mains; c'est d'agneaux et de béliers et de boucs qu'ils faisaient commerce avec toi.
22 The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy merchants. They traded for thy wares with the chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.
Les marchands de Séba et de Raéma trafiquaient avec toi; de tous les aromates exquis, de toutes les pierreries et d'or ils fournissaient tes marchés.
23 Haran and Canneh and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur and Chilmad, were thy merchants.
Haran et Canna et Éden, les marchands de Séba, Assur, Kilmad trafiquaient avec toi;
24 These were thy merchants in choice wares, in wrappings of blue and embroidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.
sur ton marché ils faisaient avec toi commerce de riches étoffes, de manteaux de pourpre violette et brochés, et de coffres pleins de tissus damassés, faits de cèdre et liés avec des cordes.
25 The ships of Tarshish were thy caravans for thy merchandise. And thou were replenished, and made very glorious in the heart of the seas.
Les navires de Tarsis étaient tes caravanes dans ton commerce; et ainsi tu te remplis et devins très puissante au sein des mers.
26 Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters. The east wind has broken thee in the heart of the seas.
Tes rameurs te font voguer sur les grandes eaux… le vent d'Orient vient te briser au sein des mers.
27 Thy riches, and thy wares, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy caulkers, and the dealers in thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, who are in thee, with all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy ruin.
Ton opulence et ton marché et ton trafic, tes marins et tes matelots, les réparateurs de tes lézardes et ceux qui échangent tes marchandises, et tous tes hommes de guerre qui sont chez toi, avec toute la multitude qui est au milieu de toi, tomberont dans le sein des mers au jour de ta chute.
28 At the sound of the cry of thy pilots the suburbs shall shake.
Au bruit des cris de tes matelots les places trembleront,
29 And all who handled the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships. They shall stand upon the land,
et de leurs vaisseaux descendront tous ceux qui manient la rame, les marins, tous les matelots de la mer; ils gagneront la terre,
30 and shall cause their voice to be heard over thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads. They shall wallow themselves in the ashes.
et de leurs voix ils pousseront à ton sujet des cris et des gémissements amers, et jetteront de la poussière sur leurs têtes, et se rouleront dans la cendre;
31 And they shall make themselves bald for thee, and gird with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee in bitterness of soul with bitter mourning.
pour toi ils se raseront la tête, et ceindront le cilice et pleureront dans la douleur de leur âme, dans l'amertume de leur deuil.
32 And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, Who is there like Tyre, like her that is brought to silence in the midst of the sea?
Dans leur chagrin ils élèveront un chant funèbre sur toi et diront en se lamentant sur toi: Qui est comme Tyr, cette [ville] en ruines au sein de la mer?
33 When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filled many peoples. Thou enriched the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.
Par ton commerce qui embrassait toutes les mers, tu donnais l'abondance à nombre de peuples; par le nombre de tes trésors et de tes marchandises tu enrichissais les rois de la terre.
34 In the time that thou were broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, thy merchandise and all thy company fell in the midst of thee.
Maintenant que tu as été brisée par les flots sur les abîmes des eaux, ton trafic et toute ta multitude ont péri avec toi.
35 All the inhabitants of the isles are astonished at thee, and their kings are horribly afraid; they are troubled in their countenance.
Tous les habitants des îles te regardent avec stupeur, et leurs rois frissonnent, leur visage est tremblant.
36 The merchants among the peoples hiss at thee. Thou have become a horror, and thou shall nevermore have any being.
Les marchands des peuples te sifflent; tu es un terrible exemple de ruine, et c'en est fait de toi à jamais!
