Ezekiel 20

1 And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of Jehovah, and sat before me.

सातवें वर्ष के पांचवें महीने के दसवें दिन, इस्राएल के कुछ अगुए याहवेह की इच्छा जानने के लिये आये और वे मेरे सामने बैठ गये.

2 And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,

तब याहवेह का वचन मेरे पास आया:

3 Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them, Thus says the lord Jehovah: Is it to inquire of me that ye have come? As I live, says the lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you.

“हे मनुष्य के पुत्र, इस्राएल के अगुओं से बात करो और उनसे कहो, ‘परम प्रधान याहवेह का यह कहना है: क्या तुम मेरी इच्छा जानने आए हो? मैं अपने जीवन की शपथ खाकर कहता हूं, मैं तुम्हें अपनी इच्छा नहीं बताऊंगा, परम प्रधान याहवेह की घोषणा है.’

4 Will thou judge them, son of man, will thou judge them? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers,

“क्या तुम उनका न्याय करोगे? हे मनुष्य के पुत्र, क्या तुम उनका न्याय करोगे? तब उनके पूर्वजों के द्वारा किए घृणित कार्य उन्हें बताओ

5 and say to them, Thus says the lord Jehovah: In the day when I chose Israel, and swore to the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I swore to them, saying, I am Jehovah your God,

और उनसे कहो: ‘परम प्रधान याहवेह का यह कहना है: जिस दिन मैंने इस्राएल को चुन लिया, मैंने अपना हाथ उठाकर याकोब के वंशजों से शपथ खाई और अपने आपको मिस्र देश में उन पर प्रकट किया. हाथ उठाकर मैंने उनसे कहा, “मैं याहवेह तुम्हारा परमेश्वर हूं.”

6 I swore to them in that day, to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands.

उस दिन मैंने उनसे शपथ खाई कि मैं उन्हें मिस्र देश से निकालकर एक ऐसे देश में ले आऊंगा, जिसे मैंने उनके लिये खोजा था, एक ऐसा देश जिसमें दूध और मधु की धाराएं बहती हैं, और जो सब देशों से सुंदर है.

7 And I said to them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am Jehovah your God.

और मैंने उनसे कहा, “तुममें से हर एक उन निकम्मे मूर्तियों को निकाल फेंको, जिन पर तुम्हारी दृष्टि लगी रहती है, और मिस्र की मूर्तियों से अपने आपको अशुद्ध मत करो. मैं याहवेह तुम्हारा परमेश्वर हूं.”

8 But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken to me. They did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

“‘परंतु उन्होंने मेरे विरुद्ध विद्रोह किया और मेरी बातें नहीं सुनी; उन्होंने उन निकम्मी मूर्तियों को नहीं फेंका, जिन पर उनकी दृष्टि लगी हुई थी, और न ही उन्होंने मिस्र की मूर्तियों का परित्याग किया. इसलिये मैंने कहा कि मैं उन पर अपना कोप उंडेलूंगा और मिस्र देश में उनके विरुद्ध अपना क्रोध दिखाऊंगा.

9 But I worked for my name's sake (that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them) in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

पर अपने नाम के निमित्त मैं उन्हें मिस्र देश से निकाल लाया. मैंने ऐसा इसलिये किया ताकि मेरा नाम उन जातियों के दृष्टि में अपवित्र न ठहरे, जिनके बीच वे रहते थे और जिनके देखते में मैंने अपने आपको इस्राएलियों पर प्रकट किया था.

10 So I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.

इसलिये मैं उन्हें मिस्र देश से निकालकर निर्जन प्रदेश में ले आया.

11 And I gave them my statutes, and showed them my ordinances, which if a man does, he shall live in them.

मैंने उन्हें अपने नियम दिये और उन्हें अपना कानून बताया, जिनका यदि कोई व्यक्ति पालन करता है, तो वह जीवित रहेगा.

12 Moreover I also gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am Jehovah who sanctifies them.

मैंने उनके लिये अपने शब्बाथ भी ठहराए, जो मेरे और उनके बीच एक चिन्ह हो, ताकि वे जानें कि मैं याहवेह ने उन्हें पवित्र बनाया है.

13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They did not walk in my statutes, and they rejected my ordinances, which if a man keeps, he shall live in them. And they greatly profaned my sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.

“‘तो भी इस्राएल के लोगों ने निर्जन प्रदेश में मेरे विरुद्ध विद्रोह किया. वे मेरे नियमों पर नहीं चले और मेरे कानूनों को अस्वीकार किया—जिनका यदि कोई व्यक्ति पालन करता है, तो वह जीवित रहेगा—और उन्होंने पूरी तरह से मेरे विश्राम दिन को अपवित्र किया. इसलिये मैंने कहा कि मैं उन पर अपना कोप उंडेलूंगा और निर्जन प्रदेश में उन्हें नाश कर दूंगा.

14 But I worked for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.

पर अपने नाम के निमित्त मैंने वह किया जिससे मेरा नाम उन जनताओं की दृष्टि में अपवित्र न ठहरे, जिनके देखते मैं उन्हें निकाल लाया था.

15 Moreover also I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands,

अपना हाथ उठाकर निर्जन प्रदेश में, मैंने शपथ भी खाई कि मैं उन्हें उस देश में नहीं लाऊंगा, जिसे मैंने उन्हें दिया था—एक ऐसा देश जहां दूध और मधु की धाराएं बहती हैं, जो सब देशों से सुंदर है—

16 because they rejected my ordinances, and did not walk in my statutes, and profaned my sabbaths, for their heart went after their idols.

इसका कारण यह था कि उन्होंने मेरे कानूनों को अस्वीकार किया और मेरे नियमों पर नहीं चले और मेरे विश्राम दिन को अपवित्र किया. क्योंकि उनका मन उनकी मूर्तियों पर लगा हुआ था.

17 Nevertheless my eye spared them, and I did not destroy them, nor did I make a full end of them in the wilderness.

तौभी मैंने उन पर दया की और उन्हें नाश नहीं किया या निर्जन प्रदेश में उनका अंत नहीं किया.

18 And I said to their sons in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers. Neither observe their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

निर्जन प्रदेश में मैंने उनके बच्चों से कहा, “अपने माता-पिता के विधियों पर या उनके कानूनों पर मत चलो या उनके मूर्तियों से अपने आपको अशुद्ध मत करो.

19 I am Jehovah your God. Walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them,

मैं याहवेह तुम्हारा परमेश्वर हूं; मेरे नियमों पर चलो और ध्यानपूर्वक मेरे कानूनों का पालन करो.

20 and hallow my sabbaths, and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am Jehovah your God.

मेरे विश्राम दिनों को पवित्र मानो, कि वे मेरे और तुम्हारे बीच एक चिन्ह ठहरें. तब तुम जानोगे कि मैं याहवेह तुम्हारा परमेश्वर हूं.”

21 But the sons rebelled against me. They did not walk in my statutes, nor kept my ordinances to do them, which if a man does, he shall live in them. They profaned my sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.

“‘परंतु उनके बच्चों ने भी मेरे विरुद्ध विद्रोह किया: वे मेरे नियमों पर नहीं चले, उन्होंने मेरे कानूनों का पालन करने में सावधानी नहीं बरती, जिनके बारे में मैंने कहा था, “वह व्यक्ति जो उनका पालन करेगा, वह जीवित रहेगा,” और उन्होंने मेरे विश्राम दिनों को अपवित्र किया. इसलिये मैंने कहा मैं उन पर अपना कोप उंडेलूंगा और निर्जन प्रदेश में उनको अपना क्रोध दिखाऊंगा.

22 Nevertheless I withdrew my hand, and worked for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them forth.

परंतु मैंने अपना हाथ रोके रखा, और अपने नाम के निमित्त मैंने वह किया, जिससे मेरा नाम उन जनताओं के दृष्टि में अपवित्र न ठहरे, जिनके देखते में, मैं उन्हें निकाल लाया था.

23 Moreover I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries,

निर्जन प्रदेश में, मैंने अपना हाथ उठाकर उनसे शपथ भी खाई कि मैं उन्हें जाति-जाति के लोगों के बीच छितरा दूंगा और विभिन्‍न देशों में तितर-बितर कर दूंगा,

24 because they had not executed my ordinances, but had rejected my statutes, and had profaned my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

क्योंकि उन्होंने मेरे कानूनों का पालन नहीं किया और मेरे नियमों को अस्वीकार किया और मेरे विश्राम दिनों को अपवित्र किया, और उनकी आंखें उनके माता-पिता के मूर्तियों पर लगी रहीं.

25 Moreover I also gave them statutes that were not good, and ordinances in which they will not live.

इसलिये मैंने उन्हें दूसरे विधि विधान दिये जो अच्छे नहीं थे और उन्हें ऐसे कानून दिये जिसके द्वारा वे जीवित नहीं रह सकते थे;

26 And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that opens the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am Jehovah.

मैंने उन्हें उनके ही उपहारों के द्वारा अशुद्ध किया—हर पहलौठा का बलिदान किया जाना—जिससे वे अत्यंत भयभीत हों और वे जानें कि मैं याहवेह हूं.’

27 Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel, and say to them, Thus says the lord Jehovah: In this moreover your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.

“इसलिये, हे मनुष्य के पुत्र, इस्राएल के लोगों से बात करो और उनसे कहो, ‘परम प्रधान याहवेह का यह कहना है: इस पर भी तुम्हारे पूर्वजों ने मुझसे विश्वासघात करके मेरी निंदा की.

28 For when I had brought them into the land, which I swore to give to them, then they saw every high hill, and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering. There also they made their sweet savor, and they poured out there their drink offerings.

जब मैं उन्हें उस देश में ले आया, जिसे मैंने उन्हें देने की शपथ खाई थी तो वे किसी ऊंची पहाड़ी या किसी पत्तीवाले पेड़ को देखकर, वहां अपना बलिदान और भेंट चढ़ाने लगे, और अपना सुगंधित धूप जलाकर पेय बलिदान देने लगे, जिससे मेरा क्रोध भड़का.

29 Then I said to them, What does the high place to which ye go mean? So the name of it is called Bamah to this day.

तब मैंने उनसे कहा: यह ऊंचा स्थान क्या है जो तुम वहां जाते हो?’

30 Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the lord Jehovah: Do ye pollute yourselves according to the manner of your fathers, and play ye the harlot according to their abominations?

“इसलिये इस्राएलियों से कहो: ‘परम प्रधान याहवेह का यह कहना है: क्या तुम लोग अपने पूर्वजों की तरह अपने आपको अशुद्ध करोगे और उनकी निकम्मी मूर्तियों के पीछे भागोगे?

31 And when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, do ye pollute yourselves with all your idols to this day? And shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, says the lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you.

जब तुम अपनी भेटें चढ़ाते हो—अपने बच्चों का आग में बलिदान करते हो—तो ऐसा करने के द्वारा तुम आज तक अपने आपको अपनी सब मूर्तियों के द्वारा अशुद्ध करते आ रहे हो. तो हे इस्राएलियो, क्या मैं तुमको मुझसे पूछताछ करने दूंगा? मैं अपने जीवन की शपथ खाकर कहता हूं, मैं तुमको मुझसे पूछताछ करने नहीं दूंगा, परम प्रधान याहवेह की घोषणा है.

32 And that which comes into your mind shall not be at all, in that ye say, We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.

“‘तुम कहते हो, “हम उन जाति-जाति और संसार के लोगों के समान होना चाहते हैं, जो लकड़ी और पत्थर की सेवा करते हैं.” पर तुम्हारे मन में जो है, वह कभी पूरा न होगा.

33 As I live, says the lord Jehovah, surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, I will be king over you.

मैं अपने जीवन की शपथ खाकर कहता हूं, परम प्रधान याहवेह की घोषणा है, मैं शक्तिशाली हाथ और बढ़ाए हुए भुजा और भड़के हुए कोप से तुम्हारे ऊपर शासन करूंगा.

34 And I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries in which ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out,

मैं तुम्हें उन जाति-जाति के लोगों और देशों से लाकर इकट्ठा करूंगा, जहां तुम बिखरे हुए हो—मैं तुम्हें शक्तिशाली हाथ और बढ़ाए हुए भुजा और भड़के हुए कोप से इकट्ठा करूंगा.

35 and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples. And there I will enter into judgment with you face to face.

मैं तुम्हें जनताओं के निर्जन प्रदेश में ले आऊंगा और वहां, आमने-सामने मैं तुम्हारा न्याय करूंगा.

36 Just as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you, says the lord Jehovah.

जैसा कि मैंने मिस्र देश के निर्जन प्रदेश में तुम्हारे पूर्वजों का न्याय किया था, वैसा ही मैं तुम्हारा न्याय करूंगा, परम प्रधान याहवेह की घोषणा है.

37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod. And I will bring you into the bond of the covenant.

जब तुम मेरी लाठी के अधीन चलोगे, तो मेरा ध्यान तुम पर रहेगा, और मैं तुम्हें वाचा के बंधन में लाऊंगा.

38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and those who transgress against me. I will bring them forth out of the land where they sojourn, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am Jehovah.

मैं तुम्हें उनमें से हटाकर शुद्ध करूंगा, जो मेरे विरुद्ध विद्रोह और अपराध करते हैं. यद्यपि मैं उन्हें उस देश से निकालकर लाऊंगा, जहां वे रह रहे हैं, तौभी वे इस्राएल देश में प्रवेश न कर पाएंगे. तब तुम जानोगे कि मैं याहवेह हूं.

39 As for you, O house of Israel, thus says the lord Jehovah: Go ye. Serve each one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken to me. But ye shall no more profane my holy name with your gifts, and with your idols.

“‘हे इस्राएल के लोगों, जहां तक तुम्हारा संबंध है, परम प्रधान याहवेह का यह कहना है: तुममें से हर एक जन जाए और अपनी-अपनी मूर्तियों की सेवा करे! परंतु बाद में तुम निश्चित रूप से मेरी सुनोगे और फिर मेरे पवित्र नाम को अपने उपहारों और मूर्तियों से अशुद्ध नहीं करोगे.

40 For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, says the lord Jehovah, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them, serve me in the land. There I will accept them, and there I will require your offerings, and the first-fruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.

क्योंकि परम प्रधान याहवेह की घोषणा है, मेरे पवित्र पर्वत, इस्राएल के ऊंचे पर्वत पर, वहां देश में, इस्राएल के सारे लोग मेरी सेवा करेंगे, और वहां मैं उन्हें स्वीकार करूंगा. तब वहां मैं तुम्हारी भेंट और उत्तम उपहारों को तुम्हारे सब पवित्र बलिदानों सहित ग्रहण करूंगा.

41 I will accept you as a sweet savor when I bring you out from the peoples, and gather you out of the countries in which ye have been scattered. And I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.

मैं तुम्हें एक सुगंधित धूप के रूप में ग्रहण करूंगा जब मैं तुम्हें जनताओं के बीच से निकाल लाऊंगा और उन देशों से तुम्हें इकट्ठा करूंगा, जहां तुम तितर-बितर हो गये हो, और मैं जाति-जाति के लोगों के दृष्टि में तुम्हारे द्वारा पवित्र ठहराया जाऊंगा.

42 And ye shall know that I am Jehovah when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I swore to give to your fathers.

तब तुम जानोगे कि मैं याहवेह हूं, जब मैं तुम्हें इस्राएल देश में ले आऊंगा, वह देश जिसे मैंने तुम्हारे पूर्वजों को देने की हाथ उठाकर शपथ खाई थी.

43 And there ye shall remember your ways, and all your doings, by which ye have polluted yourselves. And ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed.

वहां तुम अपने चालचलन और उन सब कामों को याद करोगे, जिनके द्वारा तुमने अपने आपको अशुद्ध किया है, और अपने द्वारा किए गए सब बुरे कामों के कारण, तुम अपने आपसे घृणा करोगे.

44 And ye shall know that I am Jehovah when I have dealt with you for my name's sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, says the lord Jehovah.

हे इस्राएल के लोगों, जब मैं तुम्हारे बुरे कार्यों और तुम्हारे भ्रष्‍ट आचरण के अनुसार नहीं, परंतु अपने नाम के निमित्त तुमसे व्यवहार करूंगा, तब तुम जानोगे कि मैं याहवेह हूं, परम प्रधान याहवेह की घोषणा है.’”

45 And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,

याहवेह का वचन मेरे पास आया:

46 Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop thy word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the field in the South.

“हे मनुष्य के पुत्र, अपना चेहरा दक्षिण की ओर करो; दक्षिण के विरुद्ध प्रचार करो और दक्षिण देश के बंजर भूमि के विरुद्ध भविष्यवाणी करो.

47 And say to the forest of the South, Hear the word of Jehovah. Thus says the lord Jehovah: Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree. The flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burnt by it.

दक्षिण के बंजर भूमि से कहो: ‘याहवेह के वचन को सुनो. परम प्रधान याहवेह का यह कहना है: मैं तुम पर आग लगाने ही वाला हूं, और यह तुम्हारे हरे और सूखे सब पेड़ों को जलाकर नष्ट कर देगी. धधकती ज्वाला नहीं बुझेगी, और दक्षिण से लेकर उत्तर तक हर चेहरा इससे झुलस जाएगा.

48 And all flesh shall see that I, Jehovah, have kindled it. It shall not be quenched.

हर एक जन देखेगा कि मैं याहवेह ने ही यह आग लगायी है; यह नहीं बुझेगी.’”

49 Then I said, Ah lord Jehovah! They say of me, Is he not a speaker of parables?

तब मैंने कहा, “हे परम प्रधान याहवेह, वे लोग मेरे विषय में कह रहे हैं, ‘क्या वह मात्र दृष्टांत नहीं कह रहे हैं?’”
