< Ezekiel 17 >

1 And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
Immay kaniak ti sao ni Yahweh a kunana,
2 Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel,
“Anak ti tao, mangtedka iti maysa burburtia ket ibagam daytoy a pangngarig iti balay ti Israel.
3 and say, Thus says the lord Jehovah: A great eagle with great wings and long pinions, full of feathers, which had various colors, came to Lebanon, and took the top of the cedar.
Ibagam, 'Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh nga Apo: Adda maysa a dakkel nga agila a dadakkel dagiti payakna ken atitiddog dagiti pawisna, napuskol dagiti dutdotna, ken agduduma ti marisna ti napan idiay Lebanon ket nagdisso iti murdong ti kayo a sedro.
4 He cropped off the topmost of the young twigs of it, and carried it to a land of merchandise. He set it in a city of merchants.
Nangtukkol daytoy kadagiti murdong dagiti sanga ket impanna dagitoy idiay daga ti Canaan; inmulana dagitoy iti siudad dagiti agtagtagilako.
5 He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful soil. He placed it beside many waters. He set it as a willow tree.
Nangala met daytoy iti sumagmamano a bukel iti daga ket inmulana iti daga a nakasaganan a mamulaan. Inmulana daytoy iti abay ti nalawa a pagayusan ti danum a kas iti pakaimulaan ti kimmawayan a kayo.
6 And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots of it were under him. So it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.
Kalpasanna, nagtubo daytoy ket nagbalin nga ubas a nagdalapdap iti daga. Nagturong iti ayan ti agila dagiti sangana, ket immuneg dagiti ramutna iti daga. Isu a nagbalin daytoy nga ubas, ket nangpataud iti adu sangsanga ken adu a saringit.
7 There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers. And, behold, this vine bent its roots toward him, and shot forth its branches toward him, from the beds of its plantation, that he might water it.
Ngem adda sabali pay a dakkel nga agila nga addaan kadagiti dadakkel a payak ken napupuskol a dutdot. Ket pagammoan! Inturong daytoy nga ubas dagiti ramutna iti ayan ti agila, ket manipud iti nakaimulaan ti ubas, inyunnatna dagiti sangana iti ayan ti agila tapno masibugan daytoy.
8 It was planted in a good soil by many waters that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit that it might be a goodly vine.
Naimula daytoy iti nadam-eg a daga iti abay ti nalawa a pagayusan ti danum tapno makapagsanga ken makapagbunga daytoy, tapno agbalin a napintas unay nga ubas!
9 Say thou, Thus says the lord Jehovah: Shall it flourish? Shall he not pull up the roots of it, and cut off the fruit of it, that it may wither? It shall wither in all its fresh springing leaves, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by the roots of it.
Ibagam kadagiti tattao, 'Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh nga Apo: Agbiag kadi daytoy? Saannanto kadi a paruten daytoy ken saanna kadi a rurosen dagiti bungana iti kasta magango dagiti nalangto a bulongna? Saan a kasapulan ti napigsa a takkiag wenno adu a tattao tapno maparut daytoy.
10 Yea, behold, being planted, shall it flourish? Shall it not utterly wither when the east wind touches it? It shall wither in the beds where it grew.
Isu a kitaem! Dumakkelto kadi daytoy kalpasan a naimula? Saanto kadi a magango daytoy inton pul-oyan ti angin nga agtaud iti daya? Naan-anay a magangonto daytoy iti nakaimulaanna.'”
11 Moreover the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
Kalpasanna, immay kaniak ti sao ni Yahweh a kunana,
12 Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these things mean? Tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took the king of it, and the rulers of it, and brought them to him to Babylon.
“Kasaritam dagiti nasukir a tattao, 'Saanyo kadi nga ammo ti kaipapanan dagitoy a banbanag? Denggenyo! Immay iti Jerusalem ti ari ti Babilonia ket innalana ti ari ken dagiti prinsipena ket inkuyogna ida nga impan iti Babilonia.
13 And he took of the seed royal, and made a covenant with him. He also brought him under an oath, and took away the mighty of the land,
Kalpasanna, nangala iti maysa kadagiti kaputotan ti ari, nakitulag isuna kenkuana ket pinagsapatana isuna. Ket impanawna dagiti nabibileg a tattao iti daga,
14 that the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping his covenant it might stand.
tapno pumanglaw ti pagarian ket saan daytoy a tumangsit. Babaen iti panangtungpalna iti tulagna, makalasatto ti daga.
15 But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt that they might give him horses and many people. Shall he prosper? Shall he escape who does such things? Shall he break the covenant, and yet escape?
Ngem bimmusor kenkuana ti ari ti Jerusalem babaen iti panangibaonna kadagiti opisialna idiay Egipto, tapno mapanda agkiddaw kadagiti kabalio ken armada. Agballigi kadi isuna? Makalibas kadi ti mangar-aramid kadagitoy a banbanag? No saanna a tungpalen ti tulag, makalibas kadi isuna?
16 As I live, says the lord Jehovah, surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
Iti naganko! — kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh Apo— awan duadua a matayto isuna iti daga ti ari a nangisaad kenkuana a kas ari, ti ari nga akin-sapata iti inumsina, ken ti akin-tulag iti saanna a tinungpal. Matayto isuna iti tengnga ti Babilonia!
17 Nor shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company help him in the war when they cast up mounds and build forts to cut off many persons.
Ket ti Faraon ken dagiti agkakapigsa nga armadana ken ti naummo-ummong nga adu a lallaki a mannakigubat, saandanto a salakniban isuna iti gubatan, inton agigabsuon ken agipatakder dagiti taga-Babilonia kadagiti banag ket makaulida iti pader a mangdadael iti adu a biag.
18 For he has despised the oath by breaking the covenant. And, behold, he had given his hand, and yet has done all these things. He shall not escape.
Ta inumsi ti ari ti sapatana babaen iti saanna a panangtungpal iti tulag. Pudno nga intayagna ti imana tapno agkari, ngem naaramidna amin dagitoy a banag. Saanto isuna a makalibas.
19 Therefore thus says the lord Jehovah: As I live, surely my oath that he has despised, and my covenant that he has broken, I will even bring it upon his own head.
Ngarud— kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh nga Apo — iti naganko, saan kadi a ti sapatak ti inumsina, ken ti tulagko ti saanna a tinungpal? Isu nga iyegkonto kenkuana ti pannusa!
20 And I will spread my net upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare. And I will bring him to Babylon, and will enter into judgment with him there for his trespass that he has trespassed against me.
Isarwagkonto kenkuana ti iketko ket matiliwto isuna babaen iti iketko. Ket ipankonto isuna idiay Babilonia ket ukomekto isuna sadiay gapu iti kinatraidor nga inaramidna idi liniputannak!
21 And all his fugitives in all his groups shall fall by the sword, and those who remain shall be scattered toward every wind. And ye shall know that I, Jehovah, have spoken it.
Ket amin dagiti nakalasat iti armadana, mapasagto babaen iti kampilan, ket dagiti mabati, maiwarawaradanto iti amin a paset. Kalpasanna, maammoanyonto a siak ni Yahweh; Impakaammok daytoy a mapasamakto!'
22 Thus says the lord Jehovah: I will also take of the lofty top of the cedar, and will set it. I will crop off a tender one from the topmost of its young twigs, and I will plant it upon a high and lofty mountain.
Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh nga Apo, 'Isu a siakto a mismo ti mangputed iti murdong ti kayo a sedro, ket imulakto daytoy iti adayo manipud iti naganus a saringitna. Tukkolekto daytoy, ket siakto a mismo ti mangimula iti daytoy iti nangato a bantay!
23 I will plant it in the mountain of the height of Israel, and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar. And all birds of every wing shall dwell under it; they shall dwell in the shade of the branches thereof.
Imulakto daytoy kadagiti bantay ti Israel tapno agsanga ken agbunga, ket agbalinto a narukbos a sedro, iti kasta, amin a billit ket agnaeddanto iti daytoy. Agumokdanto kadagiti sangana.
24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I, Jehovah, have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish. I, Jehovah, have spoken and have done it.
Kalpasanna, amin dagiti kaykayo iti tay-ak, maammoanda a siak ni Yahweh; Pukanekto dagiti natatayag a kaykayo; Padakkelekto dagiti nababa a kaykayo! Pagangoekto dagiti masibsibugan a kayo; Palangtoekto dagiti nagango a kayo! Siak ni Yahweh; Ipakaammok a mapasamakto daytoy, ket inaramidkon daytoy!'”
