Exodus 34
1 And Jehovah said to Moses, Hew thee two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write upon the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which thou broke.
യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “ആദ്യത്തേതുപോലെ രണ്ടു കൽപ്പലകകൾ ചെത്തി ഉണ്ടാക്കുക: നീ പൊട്ടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ ആദ്യത്തെ കൽപ്പലകകളിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന വചനങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ അതിൽ എഴുതും.
2 And be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me on the top of the mount.
നീ രാവിലെ ഒരുങ്ങി, സീനായിപർവതത്തിൽ കയറിവരിക; പർവതാഗ്രത്തിൽ എന്റെമുമ്പിൽ നീ നിൽക്കണം.
3 And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount, neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.
നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ആരും വരരുത്; പർവതത്തിൽ ആരെയും കാണരുത്; പർവതത്തിനുസമീപം ആടുമാടുകൾ മേയുകയുമരുത്.”
4 And he hewed two tablets of stone like the first. And Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up to mount Sinai, as Jehovah had commanded him, and took in his hand two tablets of stone.
അങ്ങനെ മോശ, ആദ്യത്തേതുപോലെയുള്ള രണ്ടു കൽപ്പലകകൾ ചെത്തിയുണ്ടാക്കി, അതിരാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് യഹോവ കൽപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നതുപോലെ സീനായിപർവതത്തിൽ കയറിച്ചെന്നു; രണ്ടു കൽപ്പലകകളും അവൻ കൈയിൽ എടുത്തിരുന്നു.
5 And Jehovah descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Jehovah.
അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ മേഘത്തിൽ ഇറങ്ങി അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽവന്നു; യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം ഘോഷിച്ചു.
6 And Jehovah passed by before him, and proclaimed, Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth,
യഹോവ മോശയുടെമുമ്പിലൂടെ കടന്ന് ഇങ്ങനെ ഘോഷിച്ചു: “യഹോവ, യഹോവയായ ദൈവം, കരുണാമയനും ആർദ്രഹൃദയനുമാകുന്നു; ക്ഷമാശീലനും സ്നേഹസമ്പന്നനും വിശ്വസ്തതയുമുള്ളവനും ആകുന്നു.
7 keeping loving kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons, and upon the sons's sons, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.
ആയിരങ്ങളോടു കരുണ കാണിക്കുന്നവനും അകൃത്യവും അതിക്രമവും പാപവും ക്ഷമിക്കുന്നവനും കുറ്റംചെയ്തവരെ വെറുതേവിടാതെ, പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യം മക്കളുടെമേലും മക്കളുടെ മക്കളുടെമേലും, മൂന്നും നാലും തലമുറവരെ അനുഭവിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനും ആകുന്നു.”
8 And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.
അപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ മോശ നിലത്തുവീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു.
9 And he said, If now I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, let the Lord, I pray thee, go in the midst of us, for it is a stiff-necked people, and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.
“കർത്താവേ, അങ്ങേക്ക് എന്നോടു കൃപയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, കർത്താവു ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പോരണമേ. ഇതു ദുശ്ശാഠ്യമുള്ള ജനമാകുന്നു, എങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങളുടെ അതിക്രമവും പാപവും ക്ഷമിച്ചു, ഞങ്ങളെ അവിടത്തെ അവകാശം ആക്കണമേ,” എന്നപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
10 And he said, Behold, I make a covenant. Before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been wrought in all the earth, nor in any nation, and all the people among which thou are shall see the work of Jehovah, for it is an awesome thing that I do with thee.
അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ: “ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുമായി ഒരു ഉടമ്പടിചെയ്യുന്നു. ലോകത്തിലെങ്ങും ഒരു ജനതയുടെയും മധ്യത്തിൽ മുമ്പൊരിക്കലും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അത്ഭുതങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ സകലജനത്തിന്റെയും മുമ്പാകെ ചെയ്യും. യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി പ്രവർത്തിക്കാൻപോകുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങൾ എത്ര ഭയങ്കരമാണെന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കുചുറ്റും വസിക്കുന്ന ജനം കാണും.
11 Observe thou that which I command thee this day. Behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കൽപ്പിക്കുന്നത് അനുസരിക്കുക. അമോര്യർ, കനാന്യർ, ഹിത്യർ, പെരിസ്യർ, ഹിവ്യർ, യെബൂസ്യർ എന്നിവരെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിച്ചുകളയും.
12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where thou go, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee.
നീ ചെല്ലുന്ന ദേശത്തു പാർക്കുന്ന ജനങ്ങളുമായി യാതൊരുവിധ കരാറിലും ഏർപ്പെടാതിരിക്കാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളണം. അല്ലെങ്കിൽ, അതു നിനക്ക് ഒരു കെണിയായിത്തീരും.
13 But ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and ye shall cut down their Asherim,
നിങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങൾ തകർക്കണം; അവരുടെ ആചാരസ്തൂപങ്ങൾ ഉടച്ചുകളയണം; അവരുടെ അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠകൾ വെട്ടിക്കളയണം.
14 for thou shall worship no other god. For Jehovah, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
അന്യദേവതകളെ നമസ്കരിക്കരുത്; തീക്ഷ്ണൻ എന്നു പേരുള്ള യഹോവ, തീക്ഷ്ണതയുള്ളവൻതന്നെ.
15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they play the harlot after their gods, and sacrifice to their gods, and a man calls thee and thou eat of his sacrifice,
“ദേശത്തു പാർക്കുന്ന ജനങ്ങളുമായി യാതൊരുവിധ കരാറിലും ഏർപ്പെടരുത്; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവതകളോടു പരസംഗം ചെയ്യുകയും അവർക്കു ബലികഴിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ അവർ നിങ്ങളെ ക്ഷണിക്കാനും നിങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ ബലികൾ ഭക്ഷിക്കാനും ഇടയാകരുത്.
16 and thou take of their daughters to thy sons, and their daughters play the harlot after their gods, and make thy sons play the harlot after their gods.
അവരുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർക്കു ഭാര്യമാരായി എടുക്കാനും അവരുടെ പുത്രിമാർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവന്മാരോടു പരസംഗം ചെയ്യാനും അവർ നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരെ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യാൻ പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കാനും ഇടവരരുത്.
17 Thou shall make thee no molten gods.
“നിങ്ങൾക്കായി ദേവന്മാരെ വാർത്തുണ്ടാക്കരുത്.
18 Thou shall keep the feast of unleavened bread. Seven days thou shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, at the time appointed in the month Abib, for in the month Abib thou came out from Egypt.
“പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റ ഉത്സവം ആചരിക്കണം. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഏഴുദിവസം പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പം ഭക്ഷിക്കണം. നീ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോന്ന ആബീബ് മാസത്തിൽ നിശ്ചിതസമയത്ത് അത് ആചരിക്കണം.
19 All that opens the womb is mine, and all thy cattle that is male, the firstlings of cow and sheep.
“നിന്റെ ആടുകളുടെയും കന്നുകാലികളുടെയും കടിഞ്ഞൂലുകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെ ആദ്യം ജനിക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം എനിക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു.
20 And the firstling of a donkey thou shall redeem with a lamb, and if thou will not redeem it, then thou shall break its neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shall redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.
എന്നാൽ കഴുതയുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെ ആട്ടിൻകുട്ടിയെക്കൊണ്ടു വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളണം. നീ അതിനെ വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അതിന്റെ കഴുത്ത് ഒടിച്ചുകളയണം. നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ ആദ്യജാതന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളണം. “വെറുംകൈയോടെ ആരും എന്റെമുമ്പിൽ വരരുത്.
21 Six days thou shall work, but on the seventh day thou shall rest; in plowing time and in harvest thou shall rest.
“ആറുദിവസം നീ അധ്വാനിക്കണം; ഏഴാംദിവസം സ്വസ്ഥമായിരിക്കണം; വിതകാലമോ കൊയ്ത്തുകാലമോ ആയാലും നീ വിശ്രമിക്കണം.
22 And thou shall observe the feast of weeks, even of the first-fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering in the middle of the year.
“ഗോതമ്പുകൊയ്ത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യഫലോത്സവത്തോടൊപ്പം ആഴ്ചകളുടെ പെരുന്നാളും വർഷാന്ത്യത്തിൽ കായ്-കനിപ്പെരുന്നാളും നീ ആചരിക്കണം.
23 Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the lord Jehovah, the God of Israel.
നിങ്ങളുടെ സകലപുരുഷന്മാരും, വർഷത്തിൽ മൂന്നുപ്രാവശ്യം ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ, കർത്താവായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വരണം.
24 For I will cast out nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders. Neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou go up to appear before Jehovah thy God three times in the year.
ഞാൻ ജനതകളെ നിങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു, നിന്റെ ദേശത്തെ വിശാലമാക്കും. നിങ്ങൾ വർഷത്തിൽ മൂന്നുപ്രാവശ്യം നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിൽക്കാൻപോകുമ്പോൾ ആരും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശം മോഹിക്കുകയില്ല.
25 Thou shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread, nor shall the sacrifice of the feast of the Passover be left to the morning.
“പുളിപ്പുള്ള യാതൊന്നിനോടുംകൂടെ എനിക്കു യാഗരക്തം അർപ്പിക്കരുത്. പെസഹാപ്പെരുന്നാളിലെ യാഗം പ്രഭാതംവരെ ശേഷിപ്പിക്കരുത്.
26 The first of the first-fruits of thy ground thou shall bring to the house of Jehovah thy God. Thou shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.
“നിന്റെ നിലത്തിലെ ആദ്യഫലങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റം മെച്ചമായവ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരണം. “ആട്ടിൻകുട്ടിയെ അതിന്റെ തള്ളയുടെ പാലിൽ പാകംചെയ്യരുത്.”
27 And Jehovah said to Moses, Write thou these words, for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.
യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്, “ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ എഴുതുക; ഈ വചനങ്ങളനുസരിച്ചു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടും ഇസ്രായേലിനോടും ഒരു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.”
28 And he was there with Jehovah forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread, nor drank water, and he wrote upon the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
മോശ, ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കാതെയും വെള്ളം കുടിക്കാതെയും നാൽപ്പതുരാവും നാൽപ്പതുപകലും യഹോവയുടെകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു. അവിടന്ന് ആ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ, പത്തുകൽപ്പനകളെത്തന്നെ, കൽപ്പലകകളിൽ എഴുതിക്കൊടുത്തു.
29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tablets of the testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone by reason of his speaking with him.
മോശ കൈകളിൽ കല്ലിൽ കൊത്തിയ രണ്ട് ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ പലകകളുമായി സീനായിപർവതത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങിവന്നപ്പോൾ, താൻ യഹോവയോടു സംസാരിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു തന്റെ മുഖം പ്രകാശിച്ചിരുന്നു എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.
30 And when Aaron and all the sons of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.
മോശയുടെ മുഖം പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ട് അഹരോനും എല്ലാ ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കളും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ സമീപിക്കാൻ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.
31 And Moses called to them. And Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him, and Moses spoke to them.
എന്നാൽ മോശ അവരെ വിളിച്ചു; അഹരോനും സഭയിലെ എല്ലാ നേതാക്കന്മാരും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു; അദ്ദേഹം അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു.
32 And afterward all the sons of Israel came near, and he gave them in commandment all that Jehovah had spoken with him on mount Sinai.
അതിനുശേഷം സകല ഇസ്രായേൽജനവും മോശയുടെ അടുക്കൽവന്നു; സീനായിപർവതത്തിൽ യഹോവ നൽകിയ എല്ലാ കൽപ്പനകളും മോശ അവരെ അറിയിച്ചു.
33 And when Moses was done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.
മോശ അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചുതീർന്നശേഷം തന്റെ മുഖത്ത് ഒരു മൂടുപടം ഇട്ടു.
34 But when Moses went in before Jehovah to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out. And he came out, and spoke to the sons of Israel that which he was commanded.
എന്നാൽ, യഹോവയോടു സംസാരിക്കാൻ തിരുസന്നിധിയിലേക്കു പോയി, പുറത്തു വരുന്നതുവരെ അദ്ദേഹം മൂടുപടം മാറ്റിയിരുന്നു. തന്നോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചത് മോശ പുറത്തുവന്ന് ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കളോട് അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു.
35 And the sons of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone. And Moses put the veil upon his face again until he went in to speak with him.
മോശയുടെ മുഖം പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നതായി അവർ കണ്ടു. ഇതിനുശേഷം മോശ യഹോവയോടു സംസാരിക്കാൻ അകത്തു പോകുന്നതുവരെ അദ്ദേഹം മൂടുപടം ഇട്ടിരുന്നു.
