Exodus 20
1 And God spoke all these words, saying,
Então fallou Deus todas estas palavras, dizendo:
2 I am Jehovah thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Eu sou o Senhor teu Deus, que te tirei da terra do Egypto, da casa da servidão.
3 Thou shall have no other gods before me.
Não terás outros deuses diante de mim.
4 Thou shall not make to thee a graven image, nor any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
Não farás para ti imagem d'esculptura, nem alguma similhança do que ha em cima nos céus, nem em baixo na terra, nem nas aguas debaixo da terra.
5 Thou shall not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them, for I, Jehovah thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of those who hate me,
Não te encurvarás a ellas nem as servirás: porque eu, o Senhor teu Deus, sou Deus zeloso, que visito a maldade dos paes nos filhos, até á terceira e quarta geração d'aquelles que me aborrecem,
6 and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
E faço misericordia em milhares, aos que me amam, e aos que guardam os meus mandamentos.
7 Thou shall not take the name of Jehovah thy God in vain, for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
Não tomarás o nome do Senhor teu Deus em vão: porque o Senhor não terá por innocente o que tomar o seu nome em vão.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Lembra-te do dia do sabbado, para o sanctificar.
9 Six days thou shall labor, and do all thy work,
Seis dias trabalharás, e farás toda a tua obra,
10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to Jehovah thy God. Thou shall not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates,
Mas o setimo dia é o sabbado do Senhor teu Deus: não farás nenhuma obra, nem tu, nem teu filho, nem tua filha, nem o teu servo, nem a tua serva, nem a tua besta, nem o teu estrangeiro, que está dentro das tuas portas.
11 for in six days Jehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore Jehovah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Porque em seis dias fez o Senhor os céus e a terra, o mar e tudo que n'elles ha, e ao setimo dia descançou: portanto abençoou o Senhor o dia do sabbado, e o sanctificou,
12 Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long in the land which Jehovah thy God gives thee.
Honra a teu pae e a tua mãe, para que se prolonguem os teus dias na terra que o Senhor teu Deus te dá.
13 Thou shall not murder.
Não matarás.
14 Thou shall not commit adultery.
Não adulterarás.
15 Thou shall not steal.
Não furtarás.
16 Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
Não dirás falso testemunho contra o teu proximo.
17 Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's house. Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his man-servant, nor his maid-servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is thy neighbor's.
Não cubiçarás a casa do teu proximo, não cubiçarás a mulher do teu proximo, nem o seu servo, nem a sua serva, nem o seu boi, nem o seu jumento, nem coisa alguma do teu proximo.
18 And all the people perceived the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the voice of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking. And when the people saw it, they trembled, and stood afar off.
E todo o povo viu os trovões e os relampagos, e o sonido da buzina, e o monte fumegando: e o povo, vendo isso retirou-se e poz-se de longe.
19 And they said to Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear, but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
E disseram a Moysés: Falla tu comnosco, e ouviremos: e não falle Deus comnosco, para que não morramos.
20 And Moses said to the people, Fear not, for God has come to prove you, and that his fear may be before you, that ye not sin.
E disse Moysés ao povo: Não temaes, que Deus veiu para provar-vos, e para que o seu temor esteja diante de vós, para que não pequeis.
21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.
E o povo estava em pé de longe: Moysés, porém, se chegou á escuridade, onde Deus estava.
22 And Jehovah said to Moses, Thus thou shall say to the sons of Israel, Ye yourselves have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
Então disse o Senhor a Moysés: Assim dirás aos filhos d'Israel: Vós tendes visto que eu fallei comvosco desde os céus.
23 Ye shall not make other gods with me; gods of silver, or gods of gold, ye shall not make to you.
Não fareis outros deuses commigo; deuses de prata ou deuses de oiro não fareis para vós.
24 An altar of earth thou shall make to me, and shall sacrifice on it thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen. In every place where I record my name I will come to thee and I will bless thee.
Um altar de terra me farás, e sobre elle sacrificarás os teus holocaustos, e as tuas offertas pacificas, as tuas ovelhas, e as tuas vaccas: em todo o logar, onde eu fizer celebrar a memoria do meu nome, virei a ti, e te abençoarei.
25 And if thou make to me an altar of stone, thou shall not build it of hewn stones, for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou have polluted it.
E se me fizeres um altar de pedras, não o farás de pedras lavradas: se sobre elle levantares o teu buril, profanal-o-has.
26 Neither shall thou go up by steps to my altar, that thy nakedness be not uncovered on it.
Não subirás tambem por degraus ao meu altar, para que a tua nudez não seja descoberta diante d'elles.
