Esther 9

1 Now in the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution on the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have rule over them (whereas it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over those who hated them),

ആദാർമാസമായ പന്ത്രണ്ടാം മാസം പതിമ്മൂന്നാം തിയ്യതി രാജാവിന്റെ കല്പനയും തീൎപ്പും നടത്തുവാൻ അടുത്തപ്പോൾ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾ അവരുടെ നേരെ പ്രാബല്യം പ്രാപിക്കും എന്നു ആശിച്ചതും നേരെ മറിച്ചു യെഹൂദന്മാൎക്കു തങ്ങളുടെ വൈരികളുടെ നേരെ പ്രാബല്യം പ്രാപിച്ചതുമായ ദിവസത്തിൽ തന്നേ

2 the Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt. And no man could withstand them, for the fear of them fell upon all the peoples.

അഹശ്വേരോശ്‌രാജാവിന്റെ സകലസംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലും യെഹൂദന്മാർ തങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ തങ്ങളോടു ദോഷം ചെയ്‌വാൻ ഭാവിച്ചവരെ കയ്യേറ്റം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി; അവരെയുള്ള പേടി സകലജാതികളുടെയുംമേൽ വീണിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ആൎക്കും അവരോടു എതിൎത്തുനില്പാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

3 And all the rulers of the provinces, and the satraps, and the governors, and those who did the king's business, helped the Jews, because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them.

സകലസംസ്ഥാനപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും രാജപ്രതിനിധികളും ദേശാധിപതികളും രാജാവിന്റെ കാൎയ്യക്കാരന്മാരും മൊൎദ്ദെഖായിയെയുള്ള പേടി അവരുടെമേൽ വീണിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു യെഹൂദന്മാൎക്കു സഹായം ചെയ്തു.

4 For Mordecai was great in the king's house, and his fame went forth throughout all the provinces, for the man Mordecai grew greater and greater.

മൊൎദ്ദെഖായി രാജധാനിയിൽ മഹാൻ ആയിരുന്നു; മൊൎദ്ദെഖായി എന്ന പുരുഷൻ മേല്ക്കുമേൽ മഹാനായിത്തീൎന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ കീൎത്തി സകലസംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലും പരന്നു.

5 And the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and with slaughter and destruction, and did what they would to those who hated them.

യെഹൂദന്മാർ തങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളെ ഒക്കെയും വെട്ടിക്കൊന്നു മുടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു, തങ്ങളെ പകെച്ചവരോടു തങ്ങൾക്കു ബോധിച്ചതുപോലെ പ്രവൎത്തിച്ചു.

6 And in Shushan the palace the Jews killed and destroyed five hundred men.

ശൂശൻരാജധാനിയിൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർ അഞ്ഞൂറുപേരെ കൊന്നുമുടിച്ചു.

7 And they killed Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha,

പൎശൻദാഥാ, ദൽഫോൻ, അസ്പാഥാ,

8 and Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha,

പോറാഥാ, അദല്യാ, അരീദാഥാ,

9 and Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vaizatha,

പൎമ്മസ്ഥാ, അരീസായി, അരീദായി, വയെസാഥാ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഹമ്മെദാഥയുടെ മകനായ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ശത്രുവായ ഹാമാന്റെ പത്തു പുത്രന്മാരെയും അവർ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

10 the ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Jew's enemy, but they did not lay their hand on the spoil.

എന്നാൽ കവൎച്ചെക്കു അവർ കൈ നീട്ടിയില്ല.

11 On that day the number of those who were slain in Shushan the palace was brought before the king.

ശൂശൻരാജധാനിയിൽ അവർ കൊന്നവരുടെ സംഖ്യ അന്നു തന്നേ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

12 And the king said to Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the palace, and the ten sons of Haman. What then have they done in the rest of the king's provinces! Now what is thy petition? And it shall be granted thee, or what is thy request further? And it shall be done.

അപ്പോൾ രാജാവു എസ്ഥേർരാജ്ഞിയോടു: യെഹൂദന്മാർ ശൂശൻ രാജധാനിയിൽ അഞ്ഞൂറുപേരെയും ഹാമാന്റെ പത്തു പുത്രന്മാരെയും കൊന്നുമുടിച്ചു; രാജാവിന്റെ മറ്റു സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ അവർ എന്തു ചെയ്തിരിക്കും? ഇനിയും നിന്റെ അപേക്ഷ എന്തു? അതു നിനക്കു ലഭിക്കും; ഇനിയും നിന്റെ ആഗ്രഹം എന്തു? അതു നിവൎത്തിച്ചുതരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13 Then Esther said, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews who are in Shushan to do tomorrow also according to this day's decree, and let Haman's ten sons be hanged upon the gallows.

അതിന്നു എസ്ഥേർ: രാജാവിന്നു തിരുവുള്ളമുണ്ടായി ശൂശനിലെ യെഹൂദന്മാർ ഇന്നത്തെ തീൎപ്പുപോലെ നാളെയും ചെയ്‌വാൻ അനുവദിക്കയും ഹാമാന്റെ പത്തു പുത്രന്മാരെയും കഴുമരത്തിന്മേൽ തൂക്കിക്കയും ചെയ്യേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

14 And the king commanded it so to be done. And a decree was given out in Shushan, and they hanged Haman's ten sons.

അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തുകൊൾവാൻ രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചു ശൂശനിൽ തീൎപ്പു പരസ്യമാക്കി; ഹാമാന്റെ പത്തു പുത്രന്മാരെ അവർ തൂക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

15 And the Jews who were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and killed three hundred men in Shushan, but they did not lay their hand on the spoil.

ശൂശനിലെ യെഹൂദന്മാർ ആദാർമാസം പതിനാലാം തിയ്യതിയും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി ശൂശനിൽ മുന്നൂറുപേരെ കൊന്നു; എങ്കിലും കവൎച്ചെക്കു അവർ കൈ നീട്ടിയില്ല.

16 And the other Jews who were in the king's provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and killed seventy-five thousand of those who hated them. But they did not lay their hand on the spoil.

രാജാവിന്റെ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെ ശേഷം യെഹൂദന്മാർ ആദാർമാസം പതിമ്മൂന്നാം തിയ്യതി ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി തങ്ങളുടെ ജീവരക്ഷെക്കായി പൊരുതു ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞു വിശ്രമം പ്രാപിച്ചു. അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വൈരികളിൽ എഴുപത്തയ്യായിരം പേരെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു എങ്കിലും കവൎച്ചെക്കു കൈ നീട്ടിയില്ല.

17 This was done on the thirteenth day of the month Adar. And on the fourteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.

ആ മാസം പതിന്നാലാം തിയ്യതിയോ അവർ വിശ്രമിച്ചു വിരുന്നും സന്തോഷവുമുള്ള ദിവസമായിട്ടു അതിനെ ആചരിച്ചു.

18 But the Jews who were in Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day of it, and on the fourteenth of it, and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.

ശൂശനിലെ യെഹൂദന്മാർ ആ മാസം പതിമ്മൂന്നാം തിയ്യതിയും പതിന്നാലാം തിയ്യതിയും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി; പതിനഞ്ചാം തിയ്യതി അവർ വിശ്രമിച്ചു അതിനെ വിരുന്നും സന്തോഷവുമുള്ള ദിവസമായിട്ടു ആചരിച്ചു.

19 Therefore the Jews of the villages, who dwell in the unwalled towns, make the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.

അതുകൊണ്ടു മതിലില്ലാത്ത പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ പാൎക്കുന്ന നാട്ടുപുറങ്ങളിലെ യെഹൂദന്മാർ ആദാർമാസം പതിന്നാലാം തിയ്യതിയെ സന്തോഷവും വിരുന്നും ഉള്ള ദിവസവും ഉത്സവദിനവും ആയിട്ടു ആചരിക്കയും തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ സമ്മാനങ്ങൾ കൊടുത്തയക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

20 And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters to all the Jews who were in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, both near and far,

ആണ്ടുതോറും ആദാർമാസം പതിന്നാലും പതിനഞ്ചും തിയ്യതിയെ യെഹൂദന്മാർ തങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞു വിശ്രമിച്ച ദിവസങ്ങളായിട്ടു ദുഃഖം അവൎക്കു സന്തോഷമായും വിലാപം ഉത്സവമായും തീൎന്ന മാസമായിട്ടും ആചരിക്കേണമെന്നും

21 to enjoin them that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly,

അവയെ വിരുന്നും സന്തോഷവുമുള്ള നാളുകളും തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ സമ്മാനങ്ങളും ദരിദ്രന്മാൎക്കു ദാനധൎമ്മങ്ങളും കൊടുക്കുന്ന നാളുകളും ആയിട്ടു ആചരിക്കേണമെന്നും

22 as the days in which the Jews had rest from their enemies. And the month which was turned to them from sorrow to gladness, and from mourning into a good day, that they should make them days of feasting and gladness, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.

അഹശ്വേരോശ്‌രാജാവിന്റെ സകലസംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലും സമീപത്തും ദൂരത്തും ഉള്ള സകലയെഹൂദന്മാൎക്കും ചട്ടമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും മൊൎദ്ദെഖായി ഈ കാൎയ്യങ്ങൾ എഴുതി അവൎക്കു എഴുത്തു അയച്ചു.

23 And the Jews undertook to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai had written to them,

അങ്ങനെ യെഹൂദന്മാർ തങ്ങൾ തുടങ്ങിയിരുന്നതും മൊൎദ്ദെഖായി തങ്ങൾക്കു എഴുതിയിരുന്നതുമായ കാൎയ്യം ഒരു ചട്ടമായി കൈക്കൊണ്ടു.

24 because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had plotted against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is the lot, to consume them, and to destroy them.

ആഗാഗ്യനായ ഹമ്മെദാഥയുടെ മകനായി എല്ലായെഹൂദന്മാരുടെയും ശത്രുവായ ഹാമാൻ യെഹൂദന്മാരെ നശിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ നേരെ ഉപായം ചിന്തിക്കയും അവരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു മുടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പൂരെന്ന ചീട്ടു ഇടുവിക്കയും

25 But when the matter came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he had devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.

കാൎയ്യം രാജാവിന്നു അറിവു കിട്ടിയപ്പോൾ അവൻ യെഹൂദന്മാൎക്കു വിരോധമായി ചിന്തിച്ചിരുന്ന ഉപായം അവന്റെ തലയിലേക്കു തന്നേ തിരിയുവാനും അവനെയും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും കഴുമരത്തിന്മേൽ തൂക്കിക്കളവാനും രാജാവു രേഖാമൂലം കല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ ആ നാളുകൾക്കു പൂര് എന്ന പദത്താൽ പൂരീം എന്നു പേർ വിളിച്ചു.

26 Therefore they called these days Purim, after the name of Pur. Therefore because of all the words of this letter, and of that which they had seen concerning this matter, and that which had come to them,

ഈ എഴുത്തിലെ സകലവൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും ആ കാൎയ്യത്തിൽ അവർ തന്നേ കണ്ടവയും അവൎക്കു സംഭവിച്ചവയുംനിമിത്തം

27 the Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves to them, so that it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to the writing of it, and according to the appointed time of it, every year.

യെഹൂദന്മാർ ഈ രണ്ടു ദിവസങ്ങളെ അവയുടെ ചട്ടവും കാലവും അനുസരിച്ചു ആണ്ടുതോറും വീഴ്ചകൂടാതെ ആചരിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണവും

28 And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city, and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the remembrance of them perish from their seed.

ഈ ദിവസങ്ങൾ തലമുറതലമുറയായി സകലവംശങ്ങളിലും സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലും പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും ഓൎക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണവും ഈ പൂരീംദിവസങ്ങൾ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ മദ്ധ്യേനിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകയോ അവയുടെ ഓൎമ്മ തങ്ങളുടെ സന്തതിയിൽനിന്നു വിട്ടു പോകയോ ചെയ്യാത്തപ്രകാരവും തങ്ങൾക്കും സന്തതികൾക്കും അവരോടു ചേരുവാനുള്ള എല്ലാവൎക്കും ചട്ടമായി കൈക്കൊണ്ടു.

29 Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with all authority to confirm this second letter of Purim.

പൂരീം സംബന്ധിച്ച ഈ രണ്ടാം ലേഖനം സ്ഥിരമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അബീഹയീലിന്റെ മകളായ എസ്ഥേർരാജ്ഞിയും യെഹൂദനായ മൊൎദ്ദെഖായിയും സൎവ്വാധികാരത്തോടുംകൂടെ എഴുത്തു എഴുതി.

30 And he sent letters to all the Jews, to the hundred twenty-seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, with words of peace and truth,

യെഹൂദനായ മൊൎദ്ദെഖായിയും എസ്ഥേർരാജ്ഞിയും അവൎക്കു ചട്ടമാക്കിയിരുന്നതുപോലെയും അവർ തന്നേ തങ്ങളുടെ ഉപവാസത്തിന്റെയും കരച്ചലിന്റെയും സംഗതികളെ തങ്ങൾക്കും സന്തതികൾക്കും ചട്ടമാക്കിയിരുന്നതുപോലെയും ഈ പൂരീംദിവസങ്ങളെ നിശ്ചിതസമയത്തു തന്നേ സ്ഥിരമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

31 to confirm these days of Purim in their appointed times, according as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had enjoined them, and as they had ordained for themselves and for their seed in the matter of the fastings and their cry.

അവൻ അഹശ്വേരോശിന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിലുൾപ്പെട്ട നൂറ്റിരുപത്തേഴു സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെ സകലയെഹൂദന്മാൎക്കും സമാധാനവും സത്യവുമായുള്ള വാക്കുകളോടുകൂടിയ എഴുത്തു അയച്ചു.

32 And the commandment of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim, and it was written in the book.

ഇങ്ങനെ എസ്ഥേരിന്റെ ആജ്ഞയാൽ പൂരീം സംബന്ധിച്ച കാൎയ്യങ്ങൾ ഉറപ്പായി അതു പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിവെച്ചു.
