Ecclesiastes 11
1 Cast thy bread upon the waters, for thou shall find it after many days.
Echa tu pan a las aguas; porque lo encontrarás después de muchos días.
2 Give a portion to seven, yea, even to eight, for thou know not what evil shall be upon the earth.
Da una porción a siete, sí, incluso a ocho; porque no sabes qué mal habrá en la tierra.
3 If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth, and if a tree falls toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falls, there shall it be.
Si las nubes están llenas de lluvia, se vacían sobre la tierra; y si un árbol cae hacia el sur, o hacia el norte, en el lugar donde caiga el árbol, allí estará.
4 He who observes the wind shall not sow, and he who regards the clouds shall not reap.
El que observa el viento no sembrará; y el que mira las nubes no cosechará.
5 As thou know not what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, even so thou know not the work of God who does all.
Como no sabes cuál es el camino del viento, ni cómo crecen los huesos en el vientre de la que está encinta; aun así no conoces la obra de Dios que lo hace todo.
6 In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thy hand, for thou know not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.
Por la mañana siembra tu semilla, y por la noche no retengas tu mano; pues no sabes qué prosperará, si esto o aquello, o si ambos serán igual de buenos.
7 Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun.
En verdad la luz es dulce, y es algo agradable para los ojos ver el sol.
8 Yea, if a man lives many years, let him rejoice in them all. But let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. All that comes is vanity.
Sí, si un hombre vive muchos años, que se alegre de todos ellos; pero que se acuerde de los días de oscuridad, porque serán muchos. Todo lo que viene es vanidad.
9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes. But know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.
Alégrate, joven, de tu juventud, y que tu corazón te alegre en los días de tu juventud, y camina por los caminos de tu corazón, y a la vista de tus ojos; pero sabed que por todas estas cosas Dios os llevará a juicio.
10 Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh, for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.
Por lo tanto, aleja la tristeza de tu corazón, y aleja el mal de tu carne; porque la juventud y el amanecer de la vida son vanidad.
