Ecclesiastes 10
1 Dead flies cause the oil of the perfumer to send forth an evil odor, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.
১যেনেকৈ মৰা মাখিয়ে সুগন্ধি তেলৰ দ্রব্য দুৰ্গন্ধময় কৰি তোলে, তেনেকৈ অলপ অজ্ঞানতাৰ কার্যই প্রজ্ঞা আৰু সন্মানক মছি পেলায়।
2 A wise man's heart is at his right hand, but a fool's heart at his left.
২জ্ঞানৱানৰ হৃদয় ভাল পথৰ ফালে ঘূৰে; কিন্তু অজ্ঞানীৰ হৃদয় ভুল পথলৈ ঘূৰে।
3 Yea also, when the fool walks by the way, his understanding fails him, and he says to everyone that he is a fool.
৩বাটত খোজকঢ়াৰ সময়তো এজন অজ্ঞানীৰ বুদ্ধিৰ অভাৱ দেখা যায় আৰু সকলোৰে আগত তেওঁৰ অজ্ঞানতা প্ৰকাশ কৰে।
4 If the spirit of the ruler rises up against thee, leave not thy place, for deference allays great offenses.
৪অধিপতি যদি তোমাৰ ওপৰত ক্রুদ্ধ হয়, তথাপিও তুমি তোমাৰ পদ ত্যাগ নকৰিবা; কিয়নো শান্তভাৱে থাকিলে ডাঙৰ ডাঙৰ অন্যায়কো শান্ত কৰিব পাৰি।
5 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as it were an error which proceeds from the ruler:
৫অধিপতিৰ পৰা উৎপন্ন হোৱা এক প্রকাৰ ভ্ৰান্তি আৰু এক দুষ্টতাৰ বিষয় মই সূৰ্যৰ তলত দেখিলোঁ।
6 Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in a low place.
৬অজ্ঞানীসকলক উচ্চ পদবোৰত নিযুক্ত কৰা হয় আৰু সফল লোক নিম্ন পদত নিযুক্ত হয়।
7 I have seen servants upon horses, and rulers walking like servants upon the earth.
৭মই দাসক ঘোঁৰাত উঠি যোৱা, আৰু অধিপতিক দাসৰ দৰে মাটিত খোজ কাঢ়ি যোৱা দেখিছোঁ।
8 He who digs a pit shall fall into it, and he who breaks through a wall, a serpent shall bite him.
৮যি মানুহে গাত খান্দে, তেওঁ তাৰ ভিতৰত পৰিব পাৰে; যি মানুহে শিলৰ দেৱাল ভাঙে তেওঁক সাপে খুঁটিব পাৰে।
9 He who hews out stones shall be hurt therewith, and he who splits wood is endangered thereby.
৯যি মানুহে শিলবোৰ কাটে, তেওঁ তাৰ দ্বাৰাই আঘাত পাব পাৰে। যি মানুহে কাঠ ডোখৰ ডোখৰ কৰে, তেওঁ তাৰ দ্বাৰাই বিপদত পৰিব পাৰে।
10 If the iron be blunt, and he does not whet the edge, then he must increase strength. But wisdom is advantageous to make right.
১০কুঠাৰ যদি ভোঁতা হয় আৰু তাক ধাৰ দিয়া নহয়, তেন্তে তাক ব্যৱহাৰ কৰিবলৈ অধিক বল লাগে; কিন্তু সফলতাৰ কাৰণে জ্ঞানৰ ব্যৱহাৰ উপযোগী।
11 If the serpent bites before it is charmed, then is there no advantage in the charmer.
১১মন্ত্ৰৰে মুগ্ধ কৰাৰ আগেয়েই যদি সাপে খুটে, তেন্তে মন্ত্ৰ গাওঁতাজনৰ কোনো লাভ নাই।
12 The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious, but the lips of a fool will swallow himself up.
১২জ্ঞানৱান লোকৰ মুখৰ কথাই খ্যাতি আনে; কিন্তু অজ্ঞানীৰ ওঁঠে নিজকে ধ্বংস কৰে।
13 The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness, and the end of his talk is mischievous madness.
১৩অজ্ঞানীৰ কথাৰ আৰম্ভণিতেই নির্বুদ্ধিতা থাকে আৰু তেওঁৰ কথাৰ শেষত দুষ্ট বিচাৰবুদ্ধিহীনতা থাকে।
14 A fool also multiplies words; yet man knows not what shall be, and that which shall be after him, who can tell him?
১৪অজ্ঞানী লোকে অনেক কথা কয়; কিন্তু কি হব, তাক কোনেও নাজানে; ভৱিষ্যত কালত কি ঘটিব, সেই কথা মানুহক কোনে জনাব পাৰে?
15 The labor of fools wearies every one of them, for he knows not how to go to the city.
১৫অজ্ঞানী লোকৰ পৰিশ্ৰমেই তেওঁলোকক ক্লান্ত কৰে, নগৰলৈ যোৱা বাটকো তেওঁ নাজানে।
16 Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy rulers feast in the morning!
১৬দেশৰ ৰজা যেতিয়া অল্পবয়সীয়া হ’য়, সেই দেশ অস্থিৰ হয়; মন্ত্ৰীসকলে ৰাতিপুৱাতেই ভোজ খায়।
17 Happy are thou, O land, when thy king is the son of noble men, and thy rulers feast in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!
১৭কিন্তু দেশৰ ৰজা যেতিয়া ভদ্ৰ বংশজাতৰ পুত্র হয়, সেই দেশত আনন্দ হয়; মন্ত্ৰীসকলে মতলীয়া হবলৈ নহয়, কিন্তু শক্তি বৃদ্ধিৰ কাৰণে উচিত সময়ত ভোজন পান কৰে।
18 By slothfulness the roof sinks in, and through idleness of the hands the house leaks.
১৮এলেহুৱা লোকৰ ঘৰৰ চাল ধ্বংস হয়; সোৰোপা হাতৰ কাৰণে ঘৰত পানী পৰে।
19 A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes glad the life, and money answers all things.
১৯আমোদৰ কাৰণেই ভোজ-মেল পতা হয়; দ্ৰাক্ষাৰসে জীৱনলৈ আনন্দ আনে আৰু অর্থই অনেক অভাৱ পূর্ণ কৰে।
20 Revile not the king, no, not in thy thought, and revile not the rich in thy bedchamber. For a bird of the heavens shall carry the voice, and that which has wings shall tell the matter.
২০ৰজাক শাও নিদিবা, এনেকি মনে মনেও নিদিবা; তোমাৰ শোৱা কোঁঠালিত ধনীক শাও নিদিবা; কিয়নো আকাশৰ এটি সৰু চৰায়ে তোমাৰ সেই কথা শুনি বৈ নিব পাৰে নাইবা কিছুমান ডেউকাযুক্ত জীৱই উৰি গৈ সকলোকে সেই কথা কৈ দিব পাৰে।
