Deuteronomy 7
1 When Jehovah thy God shall bring thee into the land where thou go to possess it, and shall cast out many nations before thee, the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than thou,
Gdy PAN, twój Bóg, wprowadzi cię do ziemi, do której wchodzisz, by ją posiąść, i [gdy] wypędzi przed tobą wiele narodów: Chetytów, Girgaszytów, Amorytów, Kananejczyków, Peryzzytów, Chiwwitów i Jebusytów – siedem narodów liczniejszych i potężniejszych niż ty;
2 and when Jehovah thy God shall deliver them up before thee, and thou shall smite them, then thou shall utterly destroy them. Thou shall make no covenant with them, nor show mercy to them.
[Gdy] więc PAN, twój Bóg, wyda je tobie, wytępisz je, doszczętnie je wyniszczysz, nie zawrzesz z nimi przymierza i nie zlitujesz się nad nimi;
3 Neither shall thou make marriages with them. Thy daughter thou shall not give to his son, nor his daughter shall thou take to thy son.
Nie będziesz z nimi zawierał małżeństw: swej córki nie dasz ich synowi i ich córki nie weźmiesz dla swego syna;
4 For he will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods, so the anger of Jehovah will be kindled against you, and he will destroy thee quickly.
Gdyż odwiodłaby twego syna od kroczenia za mną, by służyli innym bogom. Wtedy rozpaliłby się gniew PANA na was i prędko by was wytępił.
5 But thus shall ye deal with them: Ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and hew down their Asherim, and burn their graven images with fire.
Lecz tak z nimi postąpicie: Zburzycie ich ołtarze, pokruszycie ich pomniki, wytniecie ich gaje i spalicie ogniem ich rzeźbione posągi.
6 For thou are a holy people to Jehovah thy God. Jehovah thy God has chosen thee to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.
Ty bowiem jesteś świętym ludem dla PANA, swego Boga: PAN, twój Bóg, wybrał cię, abyś był dla niego szczególnym ludem spośród wszystkich narodów, które są na ziemi.
7 Jehovah did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people, for ye were the fewest of all peoples,
PAN umiłował was i wybrał was nie dlatego, że byliście liczniejsi od innych narodów, gdyż byliście najmniej liczni ze wszystkich narodów;
8 but because Jehovah loves you. And because he would keep the oath which he swore to your fathers, Jehovah has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
Lecz ponieważ PAN was umiłował i chciał dochować przysięgi, którą złożył waszym ojcom, PAN wyprowadził was potężną ręką i wykupił was z domu niewoli, z ręki faraona, króla Egiptu.
9 Know therefore that Jehovah thy God, he is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with those who love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations,
Uznaj więc, że PAN, twój Bóg, jest Bogiem, Bogiem wiernym, który zachowuje przymierze i miłosierdzie do tysiącznego pokolenia względem tych, którzy go miłują i przestrzegają jego przykazań;
10 and repays those who hate him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack to him who hates him. He will repay him to his face.

11 Thou shall therefore keep the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which I command thee this day, to do them.

12 And it shall come to pass, because ye hearken to these ordinances, and keep and do them, that Jehovah thy God will keep with thee the covenant and the loving kindness which he swore to thy fathers.
Jeśli będziecie słuchać tych praw, przestrzegać ich i wypełniać [je], wtedy PAN, twój Bóg, dochowa ci przymierza i miłosierdzia, które poprzysiągł twoim ojcom.
13 And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee. He will also bless the fruit of thy body and the fruit of thy ground, thy grain and thy new wine and thine oil, the increase of thy cattle and the young of thy flock, in the land which he swore to thy fathers to give thee.
I będzie cię miłował, błogosławił ci i rozmnoży cię. I pobłogosławi owoc twego łona i owoc twojej ziemi: twoje zboże, twoje wino i twoją oliwę, przyrost twoich krów i trzody twoich owiec na ziemi, którą poprzysiągł twoim ojcom dać tobie.
14 Thou shall be blessed above all peoples. There shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
Będziesz błogosławiony ponad wszystkie narody. Nie będzie niepłodnego i niepłodnej ani wśród ciebie, ani wśród twego bydła.
15 And Jehovah will take away from thee all sickness. And none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou know, will he put upon thee, but will lay them upon all those who hate thee.
PAN oddali też od ciebie każdą chorobę i nie ześle na ciebie żadnych dotkliwych chorób Egiptu, które poznałeś, lecz ześle je na wszystkich, którzy cię nienawidzą.
16 And thou shall consume all the peoples that Jehovah thy God shall deliver to thee. Thine eye shall not pity them. Neither shall thou serve their gods, for that will be a snare to thee.
I wytępisz wszystkie narody, które PAN, twój Bóg, tobie wyda; nie zlituje się nad nimi twoje oko. I nie będziesz służył ich bogom, bo byłoby to dla ciebie sidłem.
17 If thou shall say in thy heart, These nations are more than I. How can I dispossess them?
Jeśli powiesz w swym sercu: Te narody są liczniejsze ode mnie, jakże będę mógł je wypędzić?
18 Thou shall not be afraid of them. Thou shall remember well what Jehovah thy God did to Pharaoh, and to all Egypt:
Nie bój się ich, ale dobrze pamiętaj to, co PAN, twój Bóg, uczynił faraonowi i całemu Egiptowi;
19 the great trials which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm by which Jehovah thy God brought thee out. So shall Jehovah thy God do to all the peoples of whom thou are afraid.
Te wielkie doświadczenia, które twoje oczy widziały, te znaki, cuda, potężną rękę i wyciągnięte ramię, którymi PAN, twój Bóg, cię wyprowadził. Tak uczyni PAN, twój Bóg, wszystkim narodom, których się boisz.
20 Moreover Jehovah thy God will send the hornet among them until those who are left and hide themselves perish from before thee.
Ponadto PAN, twój Bóg, ześle na nich szerszenie, aż wyginą ci, którzy pozostali, i ci, którzy ukryli się przed tobą.
21 Thou shall not be frightened at them, for Jehovah thy God is in the midst of thee, a great God and awesome.
Nie drżyj przed nimi, gdyż PAN, twój Bóg, [jest] pośród ciebie, Bóg wielki i straszliwy.
22 And Jehovah thy God will cast out those nations before thee little by little. Thou may not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.
I PAN, twój Bóg, wypędzi przed tobą te narody z wolna i po trosze: Nie będziesz mógł wytępić ich szybko, aby nie rozmnożyły się przeciw tobie zwierzęta polne.
23 But Jehovah thy God will deliver them up before thee, and will discomfit them with a great confusion until they be destroyed.
Lecz PAN, twój Bóg, wyda je tobie i porazi je wielką klęską, aż będą wyniszczone.
24 And he will deliver their kings into thy hand, and thou shall make their name to perish from under heaven. There shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.
I wyda ich królów w twoje ręce i zgładzisz ich imię spod nieba. Nikt nie ostoi się przed tobą, aż ich wytępisz.
25 Ye shall burn the graven images of their gods with fire. Thou shall not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it to thee, lest thou be snared by it, for it is an abomination to Jehovah thy God.
Rzeźbione posągi ich bogów spalisz w ogniu. Nie będziesz pożądał srebra ani złota, [które jest] na nich, ani nie będziesz brał go dla siebie, byś nie został przez nie usidlony, ponieważ to budzi odrazę u PANA, twego Boga.
26 And thou shall not bring an abomination into thy house, and become a devoted thing like it. Thou shall utterly detest it, and thou shall utterly abhor it, for it is a cursed thing.
Nie wnoś [takiej] obrzydliwości do swego domu, abyś się nie stał przekleństwem tak jak i ona. Będziesz się nią bardzo brzydził i czuł do niej ogromny wstręt, gdyż to jest przekleństwo.
