< Deuteronomy 6 >

1 Now this is the commandment, the statutes and the ordinances, which Jehovah your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land where ye go over to possess it,

2 that thou might fear Jehovah thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life, and that thy days may be prolonged.
Ihe e ji nye iwu ndị a bụ ka unu na ụmụ unu, na ụmụ ụmụ unu, tụọ egwu Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke unu, site nʼidebe iwu ya, ogologo ndụ unu niile. Ọ bụrụ na unu emee ya, unu ga-enwe ndụ ogologo.
3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it, that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as Jehovah, the God of thy fathers, has promised to thee, in a land flowing with milk and honey.
Nụrụ Izrel ma lezie anya nʼirube isi, ka ihe gaara unu nke ọma, ka unu baa ụba nke ukwuu nʼala ahụ mmiri ara ehi na mmanụ aṅụ na-eru nʼime ya, ọ bụladị dịka Onyenwe anyị Chineke nna nna unu ha kwere unu na nkwa.
4 Hear, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah.
Nụrụ gị Izrel, Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke anyị, Onyenwe anyị bụ otu.
5 And thou shall love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Were obi gị niile, na mkpụrụobi gị niile, na uche gị na ike gị niile, hụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị nʼanya.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thy heart.
Iwu ndị a m na-enye gị taa ka ị ga-eme ka ọ dịrị gị nʼobi.
7 And thou shall teach them diligently to thy sons, and shall talk of them when thou sit in thy house, and when thou walk by the way, and when thou lie down, and when thou rise up.
Ị ga-akụziri ya ụmụ gị. Kwuo okwu banyere ha mgbe ị na-anọdụ ala nʼụlọ gị, mgbe ị na-aga nʼokporoụzọ, mgbe ị na-edina ala na mgbe i si nʼihe ndina bilie.
8 And thou shall bind them for a sign upon thy hand, and they shall be for frontlets between thine eyes.
Keenụ ha dịka ihe ịrịbama nʼelu aka unu, kekwasịkwa ha dịka ihe ncheta nʼegedege ihu unu.
9 And thou shall write them upon the door-posts of thy house, and upon thy gates.
Dee ha nʼelu ibo ọnụ ụzọ ụlọ gị na nke ọnụ ụzọ ama gị.
10 And it shall be, when Jehovah thy God shall bring thee into the land which he swore to thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee, great and goodly cities, which thou did not build,
Mgbe Onyenwe anyị Chineke ga-akpọbata unu nʼala ahụ ọ ṅụrụ iyi nye nna nna unu ha, bụ Ebraham, na Aịzik, na Jekọb, na inye unu, ala sara mbara nke jupụtara nʼobodo unu na-ewughị,
11 and houses full of all good things, which thou did not fill, and cisterns hewn out, which thou did not hew, vineyards and olive trees, which thou did not plant, and thou shall eat and be full,
na ụlọ ihe ọma dị iche iche jupụtara nʼime ya nke unu na-azụghị, na olulu mmiri unu na-egwughị nʼonwe unu, na ubi vaịnị na ọtụtụ osisi oliv unu na-amaghị ndị kụrụ ha, mgbe unu riri ihe rijuo afọ,
12 then beware lest thou forget Jehovah, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
leruonu anya, ka unu ghara ichefu Onyenwe anyị, onye mere ka unu site nʼala Ijipt pụta, bụ ala ebe unu bụ ohu.
13 Thou shall fear Jehovah thy God, and him thou shall serve, and shall swear by his name.
Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke gị, ka ị ga-atụ egwu, naanị ya ka ị ga-efe ofufe, ọ bụkwa aha ya ka ị ga-eji ṅụọ iyi.
14 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples that are round about you,
Unu agbasola chi ndị ọzọ, bụ chi ndị niile a gbara unu gburugburu na-efe.
15 for Jehovah thy God in the midst of thee is a jealous God, lest the anger of Jehovah thy God be kindled against thee, and he destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
Nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu, onye nọ nʼetiti unu, bụ Chineke ekworo. Ọ ga-eme ka iwe ya dị ọkụ megide unu, ọ ga-ekpochapụkwa unu site nʼelu ụwa.
16 Ye shall not challenge Jehovah your God, as ye challenged him in Massah.
Anwala Onyenwe anyị, bụ Chineke gị ọnwụnwa, dịka unu nwara ya na Masa.
17 Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of Jehovah your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he has commanded thee.
Lezienụ anya hụ na unu debere iwu niile na ụkpụrụ niile, na ihe ama niile Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu nyere unu.
18 And thou shall do that which is right and good in the sight of Jehovah, that it may be well with thee, and that thou may go in and possess the good land which Jehovah swore to thy fathers,
Meenụ ihe ziri ezi, na nke dị mma nʼanya Onyenwe anyị, ka ihe niile gaara unu nke ọma, ka unu nweekwa ike ịbanye, ma nweta ezi ala ahụ Onyenwe anyị ji ịṅụ iyi kwee nna nna unu ha na nkwa.
19 to thrust out all thine enemies from before thee, as Jehovah has spoken.
Ka unu chụpụkwa ndị iro unu niile site nʼala ahụ, dịka Onyenwe anyị nʼonwe ya kwuru.
20 When thy son asks thee in time to come, saying, What is the meaning of the testimonies, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which Jehovah our God has commanded you?
Nʼoge na-abịa, mgbe nwa nwoke gị ga-ajụ gị sị, “Gịnị bụ isi ihe ama ndị a, na ụkpụrụ ndị a, na iwu ndị a Onyenwe anyị Chineke anyị nyere unu?”
21 Then thou shall say to thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt, and Jehovah brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
Ị ga-aza ya sị, “Anyị bụrị ndị ohu Fero nʼala Ijipt, ma site nʼike ya dị ukwuu, Onyenwe anyị kpọpụtara anyị site nʼala Ijipt.
22 And Jehovah showed signs and wonders, great and grievous, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his house, before our eyes.
Nʼihu anyị, Onyenwe anyị zipụrụ ọtụtụ ihe ịrịbama dị iche iche na ihe ebube dị iche iche, dị ukwuu jọọkwa njọ nʼahụ Ijipt na eze Fero nakwa ndị ụlọ ya niile.
23 And he brought us out from there that he might bring us in to give us the land which he swore to our fathers.
Ma o mere ka anyị site nʼIjipt pụta, ịkpọbata na inye anyị ala ahụ o ji ịṅụ iyi kwee nna nna anyị ha na nkwa.
24 And Jehovah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Jehovah our God for our good always, that he might preserve us alive as at this day.
Nʼihi ya ka Onyenwe anyị ji nye anyị iwu ka anyị debe ụkpụrụ ndị a niile, na-atụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke anyị egwu, ka anyị bụrụ ndị ihe ga-agara nke ọma ụbọchị niile, ndị a na-edebe ndụ, dịka ọ dị taa.
25 And it shall be righteousness to us, if we observe to do all this commandment before Jehovah our God as he has commanded us.
Ọ bụrụ na anyị elezie anya debe iwu ndị a niile Onyenwe anyị Chineke anyị nyere anyị, dịka o nyere anyị nʼiwu, anyị ga-abụ ndị na-ejegharị nʼezi omume.”
