Deuteronomy 28
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shall hearken diligently to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that Jehovah thy God will set thee on high above all the nations of the earth,
Şi se va întâmpla, dacă vei da ascultare cu atenţie vocii DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău, luând seama să împlineşti toate poruncile lui, pe care ţi le poruncesc astăzi, că DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău te va înălţa mai presus de toate naţiunile pământului,
2 and all these blessings shall come upon thee, and overtake thee, if thou shall hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God:
Şi toate aceste binecuvântări vor veni peste tine şi te vor ajunge, dacă vei da ascultare vocii DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău.
3 Blessed shall thou be in the city, and blessed shall thou be in the field.
Binecuvântat vei fi în cetate şi binecuvântat vei fi în câmp.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy beasts, the increase of thy cattle, and the young of thy flock.
Binecuvântat va fi rodul trupului tău şi rodul pământului tău şi rodul vitelor tale, fătul vacilor tale şi turmele oilor tale.
5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy kneading-trough.
Binecuvântat va fi coşul tău şi covata ta.
6 Blessed shall thou be when thou come in, and blessed shall thou be when thou go out.
Binecuvântat vei fi când intri şi binecuvântat vei fi când ieşi.
7 Jehovah will cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thee. They shall come out against thee one way, and shall flee before thee seven ways.
DOMNUL va face pe duşmanii tăi, care se ridică împotriva ta, să fie bătuţi înaintea feţei tale; ei vor ieşi împotriva ta pe o cale şi vor fugi dinaintea ta pe şapte căi.
8 Jehovah will command the blessing upon thee in thy barns, and in all that thou put thy hand to. And he will bless thee in the land which Jehovah thy God gives thee.
DOMNUL va porunci binecuvântare asupra ta în depozitele tale şi pe tot ce îţi vei pune mâna; şi te va binecuvânta în ţara pe care ţi-o dă DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău.
9 Jehovah will establish thee for a holy people to himself, as he has sworn to thee, if thou shall keep the commandments of Jehovah thy God, and walk in his ways.
DOMNUL te va întemeia ca popor sfânt pentru el, precum ţi-a jurat, dacă vei păzi poruncile DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău şi vei umbla în căile lui.
10 And all the peoples of the earth shall see that thou are called by the name of Jehovah, and they shall be afraid of thee.
Şi toate popoarele pământului vor vedea că eşti numit după numele DOMNULUI şi se vor teme de tine.
11 And Jehovah will make thee plenteous for good, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which Jehovah swore to thy fathers to give thee.
Şi DOMNUL te va face abundent în bunătăţi, în rodul trupului tău şi în rodul vitelor tale şi în rodul pământului tău, în ţara pe care DOMNUL a jurat părinţilor tăi să ţi-o dea.
12 Jehovah will open to thee his good treasure the heavens, to give the rain of thy land in its season, and to bless all the work of thy hand. And thou shall lend to many nations, and thou shall not borrow.
DOMNUL îţi va deschide tezaurul său bun, cerul să dea ploaie ţării tale la timpul ei şi să binecuvânteze toată lucrarea mâinii tale, şi vei da cu împrumut multor naţiuni, dar tu nu vei lua cu împrumut.
13 And Jehovah will make thee the head, and not the tail. And thou shall only be above, and thou shall not be beneath, if thou shall hearken to the commandments of Jehovah thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do,
Şi DOMNUL te va face capul şi nu coada, şi vei fi numai deasupra şi nu vei fi dedesubt, dacă dai ascultare poruncilor DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău, pe care ţi le poruncesc astăzi să iei seama şi să le împlineşti,
14 and shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
Şi să nu te abaţi nici la dreapta nici la stânga, de la niciunul dintre cuvintele pe care ţi le poruncesc astăzi, ca să mergi după alţi dumnezei să le serveşti.
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou will not hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day, that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
Dar se va întâmpla, dacă nu vei da ascultare vocii DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău, ca să iei seama şi să împlineşti toate poruncile lui şi statutele lui, pe care ţi le poruncesc astăzi, că toate blestemele acestea vor veni peste tine şi te vor ajunge.
16 Cursed shall thou be in the city, and cursed shall thou be in the field.
Blestemat vei fi în cetate şi blestemat în câmp.
17 Cursed shall be thy basket and thy kneading-trough.
Blestemat va fi coşul tău şi blestemată covata ta.
18 Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, the increase of thy cattle, and the young of thy flock.
Blestemat va fi rodul trupului tău şi rodul ţării tale, fătul vacilor tale şi turmele oilor tale.
19 Cursed shall thou be when thou come in, and cursed shall thou be when thou go out.
Blestemat vei fi când intri şi blestemat când ieşi.
20 Jehovah will send upon thee cursing, discomfiture, and rebuke, in all that thou put thy hand to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly, because of the evil of thy doings, by which thou have forsaken me.
DOMNUL va trimite peste tine blestem, chinuire şi mustrare, peste orice îţi vei pune mâna să faci, până când vei fi nimicit şi până când vei pieri repede, din cauza stricăciunii faptelor tale, prin care m-ai părăsit.
21 Jehovah will make the pestilence cling to thee, until he has consumed thee from off the land, where thou go in to possess it.
DOMNUL va face ciuma să se lipească de tine, până când te va nimici din ţara în care intri să o stăpâneşti.
22 Jehovah will smite thee with consumption, and with fever, and with inflammation, and with fiery heat, and with the sword, and with blight, and with mildew. And they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
DOMNUL te va lovi cu mistuire şi cu febră şi cu inflamare şi cu arsură puternică şi cu sabie şi cu tăciune în grâu şi cu mană; şi ele te vor urmări până vei pieri.
23 And thy sky that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
Şi cerul tău care este deasupra capului tău va fi aramă, şi pământul care este sub tine, fier.
24 Jehovah will make the rain of thy land powder and dust. From the sky it shall come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
DOMNUL va face ploaia peste ţara ta, pulbere şi praf, ele vor coborî din cer asupra ta, până când vei fi nimicit.
25 Jehovah will cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies. Thou shall go out one way against them, and shall flee seven ways before them. And thou shall be tossed to and fro among all the kingdoms of the earth.
DOMNUL va face să fii bătut înaintea duşmanilor tăi, vei ieşi împotriva lor pe o cale şi vei fugi dinaintea lor pe şapte căi şi vei fi alungat în toate împărăţiile pământului.
26 And thy dead body shall be food to all birds of the sky, and to the beasts of the earth, and there shall be none to frighten them away.
Şi trupul tău mort va fi hrană pentru toate păsările cerului şi fiarele pământului şi nimeni nu le va speria.
27 Jehovah will smite thee with the boil of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scurvy, and with the itch, of which thou cannot be healed.
DOMNUL te va lovi cu ulcerele Egiptului şi cu tumori şi cu crustă şi cu pecingine, de care nu te poţi vindeca.
28 Jehovah will smite thee with madness, and with blindness, and with confusion of mind,
DOMNUL te va lovi cu nebunie şi cu orbire şi cu înmărmurire a inimii,
29 and thou shall grope at noonday, as the blind man gropes in darkness. And thou shall not prosper in thy ways. And thou shall only be oppressed and robbed always, and there shall be none to save thee.
Şi vei bâjbâi în miezul zilei, precum bâjbâie orbul în întuneric, şi nu vei prospera în căile tale şi vei fi mereu oprimat şi prădat în toate zilele, şi nimeni nu te va salva.
30 Thou shall betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her. Thou shall build a house, and thou shall not dwell in it. Thou shall plant a vineyard, and shall not use the fruit of it.
Te vei logodi cu o femeie şi un alt bărbat se va culca cu ea, vei zidi o casă şi nu vei locui în ea, vei sădi o vie şi nu vei aduna strugurii din ea.
31 Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shall not eat of it. Thy donkey shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee. Thy sheep shall be given to thine enemies, and thou shall have none to save thee.
Boul tău va fi înjunghiat înaintea ochilor tăi şi nu vei mânca din el, măgarul tău va fi luat dinaintea feţei tale cu violenţă şi nu îţi va fi înapoiat; oile tale vor fi date duşmanilor tăi şi nu vei avea pe nimeni ca să le salveze.
32 Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given to another people. And thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day, and there shall be nothing in the power of thy hand.
Fiii tăi şi fiicele tale vor fi daţi altui popor şi ochii tăi vor privi şi se vor topi de dor după ei toată ziua şi nu va fi nicio putere în mâna ta.
33 The fruit of thy ground, and all thy labors, shall a nation eat up which thou know not. And thou shall only be oppressed and crushed always,
O naţiune, pe care nu o cunoşti, va mânca rodul ţării tale şi toate muncile tale; şi vei fi doar oprimat şi zdrobit întotdeauna;
34 so that thou shall be mad because of the sight of thine eyes which thou shall see.
Astfel că vei înnebuni la priveliştea pe care ochii tăi o vor vedea.
35 Jehovah will smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore boil, of which thou cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot to the crown of thy head.
DOMNUL te va lovi la genunchi şi la picioare, de la talpa piciorului tău până în creştetul capului tău, cu un ulcer rău care nu poate fi vindecat.
36 Jehovah will bring thee, and thy king whom thou shall set over thee, to a nation that thou have not known, thou nor thy fathers. And there thou shall serve other gods, wood and stone.
DOMNUL te va duce pe tine şi pe împăratul tău, pe care îl vei pune peste tine, la o naţiune pe care nu ai cunoscut-o nici tu nici părinţii tăi şi acolo vei servi altor dumnezei, lemn şi piatră.
37 And thou shall become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all the peoples where Jehovah shall lead thee away.
Şi vei deveni o înmărmurire, un proverb şi o zicătoare, între toate naţiunile unde te va conduce DOMNUL.
38 Thou shall carry much seed out into the field, and shall gather little in, for the locust shall consume it.
Vei duce multă sămânţă la câmp şi vei strânge puţin, pentru că o va mistui lăcusta.
39 Thou shall plant vineyards and dress them, but thou shall neither drink of the wine, nor gather, for the worm shall eat them.
Vei sădi vii şi le vei lucra, dar nu vei bea nici din vin, nici nu vei strânge strugurii, pentru că viermii îi vor mânca.
40 Thou shall have olive trees throughout all thy borders, but thou shall not anoint thyself with the oil, for thine olive shall drop off.
Vei avea măslini în toate ţinuturile tale, dar nu te vei unge cu untdelemn, pentru că măslinul tău îşi va lepăda rodul său.
41 Thou shall beget sons and daughters, but they shall not be thine, for they shall go into captivity.
Vei naşte fii şi fiice, dar nu te vei bucura de ei, pentru că vor merge în captivitate.
42 All thy trees and the fruit of thy ground shall the locust possess.
Lăcusta va mistui toţi copacii tăi şi rodul ţării tale.
43 The sojourner who is in the midst of thee shall mount up above thee higher and higher, and thou shall come down lower and lower.
Străinul care este la tine se va înălţa peste tine foarte sus; şi tu vei coborî foarte jos.
44 He shall lend to thee, and thou shall not lend to him. He shall be the head, and thou shall be the tail.
El îţi va împrumuta şi tu nu îi vei împrumuta, el va fi capul, iar tu vei fi coada.
45 And all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed, because thou hearkened not to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee,
Mai mult, toate aceste blesteme vor veni peste tine şi te vor urmări şi te vor ajunge, până vei fi nimicit, pentru că nu ai dat ascultare vocii DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău, ca să păzeşti poruncile lui şi statutele lui, pe care ţi le-a poruncit.
46 and they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed forever.
Şi ele vor fi peste tine şi peste sămânţa ta pentru totdeauna, ca un semn şi ca o minune.
47 Because thou served not Jehovah thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, by reason of the abundance of all things,
Pentru că nu ai servit DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău cu bucurie şi cu veselie a inimii, pentru abundenţa în toate;
48 therefore thou shall serve thine enemies that Jehovah shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things. And he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he has destroyed thee.
De aceea vei servi pe duşmanii tăi, pe care îi va trimite DOMNUL împotriva ta, în foame şi în sete şi în goliciune şi în lipsă de toate, şi el va pune un jug de fier pe grumazul tău, până te va nimici.
49 Jehovah will bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as the eagle flies, a nation whose tongue thou shall not understand,
DOMNUL va aduce împotriva ta o naţiune de departe, de la marginea pământului, precum zboară acvila; o naţiune a cărei limbă nu o vei înţelege;
50 a nation of fierce countenance, that shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young,
O naţiune aspră la înfăţişare, care nu se uită la faţa bătrânilor, nici nu arată favoare tânărului,
51 and shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy ground, until thou be destroyed, that also shall not leave thee grain, new wine, or oil, the increase of thy cattle, or the young of thy flock, until they have caused thee to perish.
Şi va mânca rodul vitelor tale şi rodul ţării tale, până vei fi nimicit, care nu îţi va lăsa nici grâu, nici vin, nici untdelemn, nici fătul vacilor tale, nici turmele oilor tale, până te va nimici.
52 And they shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fortified walls come down, in which thou trusted, throughout all thy land. And they shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which Jehovah thy God has given thee.
Şi te va asedia în toate porţile tale în toată ţara ta, până se vor prăbuşi zidurile tale înalte şi întărite, în care te-ai încrezut; şi te va asedia în toate porţile tale în toată ţara ta, pe care ţi-a dat-o DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău.
53 And thou shall eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, whom Jehovah thy God has given thee, in the siege and in the distress with which thine enemies shall distress thee.
Şi, în asediul şi în strâmtorarea cu care te vor chinui duşmanii tăi, vei mânca rodul propriului tău trup, carnea fiilor tăi şi a fiicelor tale pe care ţi-i va da DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău,
54 The man who is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his sons whom he has remaining,
Astfel încât ochiul bărbatului plăpând şi foarte delicat printre voi, va fi rău faţă de fratele său şi faţă de soţia sânului său şi faţă de rămăşiţa copiilor săi, pe care îi va lăsa,
55 so that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his sons whom he shall eat, because he has nothing left to him, in the siege and in the distress with which thine enemy shall distress thee in all thy gates.
Astfel încât nu va da niciunuia dintre ei din carnea copiilor săi, pe care o va mânca el, pentru că nu i-a rămas nimic în asediul şi în strâmtorarea cu care te vor chinui duşmanii tăi, în toate porţile tale.
56 The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
Femeia plăpândă şi delicată dintre voi, care nu ar fi cutezat să pună talpa piciorului ei pe pământ, din delicateţe şi sensibilitate, ochiul ei va fi rău faţă de soţul sânului ei şi faţă de fiul ei şi faţă de fiica ei,
57 and toward her young one who comes out from between her feet, and toward her sons whom she shall bear, for she shall eat them secretly for want of all things, in the siege and in the distress with which thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
Şi faţă de fătul ei, care iese dintre picioarele ei, şi faţă de copiii ei, pe care îi va naşte, pentru că în lipsă de toate îi va mânca în ascuns, în asediul şi în strâmtorarea cu care te va chinui dușmanul tău în porţile tale.
58 If thou will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou may fear this glorious and fearful name, JEHOVAH THY GOD,
Dacă nu vei lua seama să împlineşti toate cuvintele acestei legi, care sunt scrise în această carte, ca să te temi de numele acesta glorios şi înspăimântător, DOMNUL DUMNEZEUL TĂU,
59 then Jehovah will make thy calamities extraordinary, and the calamities of thy seed, even great calamities and of long continuance, and severe sicknesses and of long continuance.
Atunci DOMNUL va face îngrozitoare plăgile tale şi plăgile seminţei tale, plăgi mari şi îndelungate, cu boli rele şi îndelungate.
60 And he will bring upon thee again all the diseases of Egypt, which thou were afraid of, and they shall cling to thee.
Mai mult, el va aduce asupra ta toate bolile Egiptului, de care te-ai temut; şi ele se vor lipi de tine.
61 Also every sickness, and every calamity, which is not written in the book of this law, them Jehovah will bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
De asemenea, fiecare boală şi fiecare plagă, care nu este scrisă în cartea acestei legi, pe ele DOMNUL le va aduce asupra ta, până vei fi nimicit.
62 And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude, because thou did not hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God.
Şi veţi fi lăsaţi puţini la număr, deşi eraţi mulţi ca stelele cerului, pentru că ai refuzat să asculţi de vocea DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău.
63 And it shall come to pass, that, as Jehovah rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you, so Jehovah will rejoice over you to cause you to perish, and to destroy you. And ye shall be plucked from off the land where thou go in to possess it.
Şi se va întâmpla, precum DOMNUL s-a bucurat de voi să vă facă bine şi să vă înmulţească, tot astfel DOMNUL se va bucura de voi să vă nimicească şi să vă facă de nimic; şi veţi fi smulşi din ţara în care intri ca să o stăpâneşti.
64 And Jehovah will scatter thee among all peoples, from the one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. And there thou shall serve other gods, which thou have not known, thou nor thy fathers, even wood and stone.
Şi DOMNUL te va împrăştia printre toate popoarele, de la o margine a pământului până la cealaltă; şi acolo vei servi altor dumnezei, pe care nu i-ai cunoscut, nici tu, nici părinţii tăi, lemn şi piatră.
65 And among these nations thou shall find no ease, and there shall be no rest for the sole of thy foot, but Jehovah will give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and pining of soul.
Şi printre aceste naţiuni nu vei avea linişte, nici talpa piciorului tău nu va avea odihnă, ci DOMNUL îţi va da acolo o inimă cutremurată şi ochi care se topesc şi tristeţe a minţii,
66 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee, and thou shall fear night and day, and shall have no assurance of thy life.
Şi viaţa ta va atârna în îndoială înaintea ta, şi te vei teme noaptea şi ziua şi nu vei avea siguranţă pentru viaţa ta,
67 In the morning thou shall say, Would it were evening! and at evening thou shall say, Would it were morning! for the fear of thy heart which thou shall fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shall see.
Dimineaţa vei spune: De ar fi seară! Şi seara vei spune: De ar voi Dumnezeu să fie dimineaţă! De teama inimii tale, de care te vei teme, şi de priveliştea, pe care ochii tăi o vor vedea.
68 And Jehovah will bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way of which I said to thee, Thou shall see it no more again. And there ye shall sell yourselves to your enemies for bondmen and for bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
Şi DOMNUL te va întoarce în Egipt cu corăbii, pe calea despre care ţi-am vorbit: Să nu o mai vezi; şi acolo veţi fi vânduţi duşmanilor voştri ca robi şi roabe şi nimeni nu vă va cumpăra.
