Deuteronomy 23
1 He who is wounded in the testicles, or has his private part cut off, shall not enter into the assembly of Jehovah.
El castrado por aplastamiento o corte no entrará en la asamblea de Yahvé.
2 A bastard shall not enter into the assembly of Jehovah, even to the tenth generation none of his shall enter into the assembly of Jehovah.
El nacido de una unión prohibida no entrará en la asamblea de Yahvé; hasta la décima generación nadie de él entrará en la asamblea de Yahvé.
3 An Ammonite or a Moabite shall not enter into the assembly of Jehovah, even to the tenth generation none belonging to them shall enter into the assembly of Jehovah forever,
El amonita o el moabita no entrarán en la asamblea de Yahvé; hasta la décima generación nadie de ellos entrará en la asamblea de Yahvé para siempre,
4 because they met you not with bread and with water on the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt, and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.
porque no te salieron al encuentro con pan y agua en el camino cuando saliste de Egipto, y porque contrataron contra ti a Balaam, hijo de Beor, de Pethor de Mesopotamia, para que te maldijera.
5 Nevertheless Jehovah thy God would not hearken to Balaam, but Jehovah thy God turned the curse into a blessing to thee, because Jehovah thy God loved thee.
Sin embargo, Yahvé vuestro Dios no quiso escuchar a Balaam, sino que Yahvé vuestro Dios convirtió la maldición en una bendición para ti, porque Yahvé vuestro Dios te amaba.
6 Thou shall not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days forever.
No buscarás su paz ni su prosperidad en todos tus días.
7 Thou shall not abhor an Edomite, for he is thy brother. Thou shall not abhor an Egyptian, because thou were a sojourner in his land.
No aborrecerás a un edomita, porque es tu hermano. No aborrecerás a un egipcio, porque viviste como extranjero en su tierra.
8 The sons of the third generation who are born to them shall enter into the assembly of Jehovah.
Los hijos de la tercera generación que nazcan de ellos podrán entrar en la asamblea de Yahvé.
9 When the army goes forth against thine enemies, then thou shall keep thee from every evil thing.
Cuando salgáis a acampar contra vuestros enemigos, os guardaréis de toda cosa mala.
10 If there be among you any man, who is not clean by reason of an accident by night, then he shall go abroad out of the camp. He shall not come inside the camp.
Si hay entre vosotros algún hombre que no esté limpio a causa de lo que le ocurra de noche, saldrá fuera del campamento. No entrará en el campamento;
11 But it shall be, when evening comes on, he shall bathe himself in water, and when the sun is down, he shall come inside the camp.
sino que, cuando llegue la noche, se bañará en agua. Cuando se ponga el sol, entrará en el campamento.
12 Thou shall have a place also outside the camp, where thou shall go forth abroad.
Tendrás también un lugar fuera del campamento donde harás tus necesidades.
13 And thou shall have a paddle among thy weapons, and it shall be, when thou sit down abroad, thou shall dig with it, and shall turn back and cover that which comes from thee.
Tendrás una paleta entre tus armas. Cuando hagas tus necesidades, cavarás con ella, y volverás a cubrir tus excrementos;
14 For Jehovah thy God walks in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee. Therefore thy camp shall be holy, that he may not see an unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.
porque el Señor, tu Dios, camina en medio de tu campamento, para librarte y entregar a tus enemigos delante de ti. Por eso tu campamento será santo, para que no vea en ti nada impuro y se aparte de ti.
15 Thou shall not deliver to his master a servant who is escaped from his master to thee.
No entregarás a su amo un siervo que se haya escapado de su amo hacia ti.
16 He shall dwell with thee, in the midst of thee, in the place which he shall choose within one of thy gates, where it pleases him best. Thou shall not oppress him.
Él habitará con vosotros, en medio de vosotros, en el lugar que elija dentro de una de vuestras puertas, donde mejor le parezca. No lo oprimirás.
17 There shall be no prostitute of the daughters of Israel, neither shall there be a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
No habrá prostituta de las hijas de Israel, ni habrá sodomita de los hijos de Israel.
18 Thou shall not bring the hire of a harlot, or the wages of a dog, into the house of Jehovah thy God for any vow, for even both these are an abomination to Jehovah thy God.
No traerás el alquiler de una prostituta, ni el salario de un prostituto, a la casa de Yahvé vuestro Dios por ningún voto; porque ambas cosas son una abominación para Yahvé vuestro Dios.
19 Thou shall not lend upon interest to thy brother: interest of money, interest of food, interest of anything that is lent upon interest.
No prestarás a tu hermano con intereses: intereses de dinero, intereses de alimentos, intereses de cualquier cosa que se preste con intereses.
20 To a foreigner thou may lend upon interest, but to thy brother thou shall not lend upon interest, that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all that thou put thy hand to, in the land where thou go in to possess it.
Podrás cobrarle intereses a un extranjero, pero no le cobrarás intereses a tu hermano, para que el Señor, tu Dios, te bendiga en todo lo que hagas en la tierra a la que entras a poseer.
21 When thou shall vow a vow to Jehovah thy God, thou shall not be slack to pay it. For Jehovah thy God will surely require it of thee, and it would be sin in thee.
Cuando hagas un voto a Yahvé, tu Dios, no te descuides en pagarlo, porque Yahvé, tu Dios, te lo exigirá con toda seguridad; y sería pecado en ti.
22 But if thou shall forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.
Pero si te abstienes de hacer un voto, no será pecado en ti.
23 That which has gone out of thy lips thou shall observe and do, according as thou have vowed to Jehovah thy God, a freewill offering, which thou have promised with thy mouth.
Deberás cumplir y hacer lo que ha salido de tus labios. Todo lo que hayas prometido a Yahvé vuestro Dios como ofrenda voluntaria, lo que hayas prometido con tu boca, debes hacerlo.
24 When thou come into thy neighbor's vineyard, then thou may eat thy fill of grapes at thine own pleasure, but thou shall not put any in thy vessel.
Cuando entres en la viña de tu prójimo, podrás comer tu ración de uvas a tu antojo; pero no pondrás ninguna en tu recipiente.
25 When thou come into thy neighbor's standing grain, then thou may pluck the ears with thy hand, but thou shall not move a sickle to thy neighbor's standing grain.
Cuando entres en el grano en pie de tu prójimo, podrás arrancar las espigas con tu mano; pero no usarás la hoz en el grano en pie de tu prójimo.
