Deuteronomy 14

1 Ye are the sons of Jehovah your God. Ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.

Filhos sois do SENHOR vosso Deus: não vos cortareis, nem poreis calva sobre vossos olhos por morto;

2 For thou are a holy people to Jehovah thy God, and Jehovah has chosen thee to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.

Porque és povo santo ao SENHOR teu Deus, e o SENHOR te escolheu para que lhe sejas um povo singular dentre todos os povos que estão sobre a face da terra.

3 Thou shall not eat any abominable thing.

Nada abominável comerás.

4 These are the beasts which ye may eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,

Estes são os animais que comereis: o boi, a ovelha, e a cabra,

5 the hart, and the gazelle, and the roebuck, and the wild goat, and the ibex, and the antelope, and the chamois.

O cervo, o corço, e o búfalo, e o bode selvagem, e o antílope, e boi selvagem, e cabra selvagem.

6 And every beast that parts the hoof, and has the hoof cloven in two, and chews the cud, among the beasts, that may ye eat.

E todo animal de unhas, que tem brecha de duas unhas, e que ruminar entre os animais, esse comereis.

7 Nevertheless of those that chew the cud, or of those that have the hoof cloven, these ye shall not eat: the camel, and the hare, and the coney, because they chew the cud but do not part the hoof, they are unclean to you,

Porém estes não comereis dos que ruminam, ou têm unha fendida: camelo, e lebre, e coelho, porque ruminam, mas não têm unha fendida, vos serão impuros;

8 and the swine, because he parts the hoof but does not chew the cud, he is unclean to you. Of their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcasses ye shall not touch.

Nem porco: porque tem unha fendida, mas não rumina, vos será impuro. Da carne destes não comereis, nem tocareis seus corpos mortos.

9 These ye may eat of all that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales ye may eat.

Isto comereis de tudo o que está na água: todo o que tem barbatana e escama comereis;

10 And whatever does not have fins and scales ye shall not eat; it is unclean to you.

Mas todo o que não tiver barbatana e escama, não comereis: impuro vos será.

11 Of all clean birds ye may eat,

Toda ave limpa comereis.

12 but these are those of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the osprey,

E estas são das que não comereis: a água, e o quebra-ossos, e o esmerilhão,

13 and the glede, and the falcon, and the kite according to its kind,

E o milhafre, e o abutre, e o falcão segundo sua espécie,

14 and every raven after its kind,

E todo corvo segundo sua espécie,

15 and the ostrich, and the night-hawk, and the sea-gull, and the hawk according to its kind,

E o avestruz, e a coruja, e a gaivota, e o gavião segundo sua espécie,

16 the little owl, and the great owl, and the horned owl,

E o mocho, e o corujão, e a coruja-branca,

17 and the pelican, and the vulture, and the cormorant,

E o pelicano, e o gavião-pescador, e o corvo-marinho,

18 and the stork, and the heron according to its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.

E a cegonha, e a garça segundo sua espécie, e a poupa, e o morcego.

19 And all winged creeping things are unclean to you. They shall not be eaten.

E todo inseto de asas vos será impuro: não se comerá.

20 Of all clean birds ye may eat.

Toda ave limpa comereis.

21 Ye shall not eat of anything that dies of itself. Thou may give it to the sojourner who is within thy gates, that he may eat it, or thou may sell it to a foreigner, for thou are a holy people to Jehovah thy God. Thou shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

Nenhuma coisa morta comereis: ao estrangeiro que está em tuas povoações a darás, e ele a comerá: ou vende-a ao estrangeiro; porque tu és povo santo ao SENHOR teu Deus. Não cozerás o cabrito no leite de sua mãe.

22 Thou shall surely tithe all the increase of thy seed; that which comes forth from the field year by year.

Indispensavelmente dizimarás todo o produto de tua semente, que render o campo cada ano.

23 And thou shall eat before Jehovah thy God, in the place which he shall choose to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of thy grain, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herd and of thy flock, that thou may learn to fear Jehovah thy God always.

E comerás diante do SENHOR teu Deus no lugar que ele escolher para fazer habitar ali seu nome, o dízimo de teu grão, de teu vinho, e de teu azeite, e os primogênitos de tuas manadas, e de tuas gados, para que aprendas a temer ao SENHOR teu Deus todos os dias.

24 And if the way is too long for thee, so that thou are not able to carry it, because the place is too far from thee, which Jehovah thy God shall choose to set his name there when Jehovah thy God shall bless thee,

E se o caminho for tão longo que tu não possas levá-lo por ele, por estar longe de ti o lugar que o SENHOR teu Deus houver escolhido para pôr nele seu nome, quando o SENHOR teu Deus te abençoar,

25 then thou shall turn it into money, and bind up the money in thy hand, and shall go to the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose.

Então o venderás, e atarás o dinheiro em tua mão, e virás ao lugar que o SENHOR teu Deus escolher;

26 And thou shall bestow the money for whatever thy soul desires, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatever thy soul asks of thee. And thou shall eat there before Jehovah thy God, and thou shall rejoice, thou and thy household.

E darás o dinheiro por tudo o que desejar tua alma, por vacas, ou por ovelhas, ou por vinho, ou por bebida forte, ou por qualquer coisa que tua alma te pedir: e comerás ali diante do SENHOR teu Deus, e te alegrarás tu e tua família.

27 And the Levite who is within thy gates, thou shall not forsake him, for he has no portion nor inheritance with thee.

E não desampararás ao levita que habitar em tuas povoações; porque não tem parte nem herança contigo.

28 At the end of every three years thou shall bring forth all the tithe of thine increase in the same year, and shall lay it up within thy gates.

Ao fim de cada três anos tirarás todo o dízimo de teus produtos daquele ano, e o guardarás em tuas cidades:

29 And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with thee, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied, that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hand which thou do.

E virá o levita, que não tem parte nem herança contigo, e o estrangeiro, e o órfão, e a viúva, que houver em tuas povoações, e comerão e serão saciados; para que o SENHOR teu Deus te abençoe em toda obra de tuas mãos que fizeres.
