Daniel 4

1 Nebuchadnezzar the king, to all the peoples, nations, and languages, who dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you.

۱ از نبوکدنصر پادشاه، به تمامی قومها و امت‌ها و زبانها که بر تمامی زمین ساکنندسلامتی شما افزون باد!

2 It has seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has wrought toward me.

۲ من مصلحت دانستم که آیات و عجایبی را که خدای تعالی به من نموده است بیان نمایم.

3 How great are his signs, and how mighty are his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

۳ آیات او چه قدر بزرگ وعجایب او چه قدر عظیم است. ملکوت اوملکوت جاودانی است و سلطنت او تا ابدالاباد.

4 I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at rest in my house, and flourishing in my palace.

۴ من که نبوکدنصر هستم در خانه خود مطمئن ودر قصر خویش خرم می‌بودم.

5 I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.

۵ خوابی دیدم که مرا ترسانید و فکرهایم در بسترم و رویاهای سرم مرا مضطرب ساخت.

6 Therefore I made a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream.

۶ پس فرمانی از من صادرگردید که جمیع حکیمان بابل را به حضورم بیاورند تا تعبیر خواب را برای من بیان نمایند.

7 Then the magicians, the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers came in, and I told the dream before them, but they did not make the interpretation of it known to me.

۷ آنگاه مجوسیان و جادوگران و کلدانیان ومنجمان حاضر شدند و من خواب را برای ایشان بازگفتم لیکن تعبیرش را برای من بیان نتوانستندنمود.

8 But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods. And I told the dream before him, saying,

۸ بالاخره دانیال که موافق اسم خدای من به بلطشصر مسمی است و روح خدایان قدوس دراو می‌باشد، درآمد و خواب را به او باز‌گفتم.

9 O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubles thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

۹ که «ای بلطشصر، رئیس مجوسیان، چون می‌دانم که روح خدایان قدوس در تو می‌باشد و هیچ سری برای تو مشکل نیست، پس خوابی که دیده‌ام وتعبیرش را به من بگو.

10 Thus were the visions of my head upon my bed: I saw, and, behold, a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height of it was great.

۱۰ رویاهای سرم در بسترم این بود که نظرکردم و اینک درختی در وسط زمین که ارتفاعش عظیم بود.

11 The tree grew, and was strong, and the height of it reached to heaven, and the sight of it to the end of all the earth.

۱۱ این درخت بزرگ و قوی گردید وبلندیش تا به آسمان رسید و منظرش تا اقصای تمامی زمین بود.

12 The leaves of it were fine, and the fruit of it much, and food was in it for all. The beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the birds of the heavens dwelt in the branches of it. And all flesh was fed from it.

۱۲ برگهایش جمیل و میوه‌اش بسیار و آذوقه برای همه در آن بود. حیوانات صحرا در زیر آن سایه گرفتند و مرغان هوا برشاخه هایش ماوا گزیدند و تمامی بشر از آن پرورش یافتند.

13 I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and a holy one came down from heaven.

۱۳ در رویاهای سرم در بسترم نظر کردم و اینک پاسبانی و مقدسی از آسمان نازل شد،

14 He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off its branches. Shake off its leaves, and scatter its fruit. Let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from its branches.

۱۴ که به آواز بلند ندا درداد و چنین گفت: درخت را ببرید و شاخه هایش را قطع نمایید و برگهایش را بیفشانید و میوه هایش راپراکنده سازید تا حیوانات از زیرش و مرغان ازشاخه هایش آواره گردند.

15 Nevertheless leave the stump of its roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field. And let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth.

۱۵ لیکن کنده ریشه هایش را با بند آهن و برنج در زمین در میان سبزه های صحرا واگذارید و از شبنم آسمان ترشود و نصیب او از علف زمین با حیوانات باشد.

16 Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given to him. And let seven times pass over him.

۱۶ دل او از انسانیت تبدیل شود و دل حیوان را به او بدهند و هفت زمان براو بگذرد.

17 The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones, to the intent that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will, and sets up over it the lowest of men.

۱۷ این امر ازفرمان پاسبانان شده و این حکم از کلام مقدسین گردیده است تا زندگان بدانند که حضرت متعال بر ممالک آدمیان حکمرانی می‌کند و آن را بهرکه می‌خواهد می‌دهد و پست‌ترین مردمان را بر آن نصب می‌نماید.

18 This dream I, king Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. And thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation, inasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation. But thou are able, for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.

۱۸ این خواب را من که نبوکدنصرپادشاه هستم دیدم و تو‌ای بلطشصر تعبیرش رابیان کن زیرا که تمامی حکیمان مملکتم نتوانستندمرا از تعبیرش اطلاع دهند، اما تو می‌توانی چونکه روح خدایان قدوس در تو می‌باشد.»

19 Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was stricken mute for a while, and his thoughts troubled him. The king answered and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, may the dream be to those who hate thee, and the interpretation of it to thine adversaries.

۱۹ آنگاه دانیال که به بلطشصر مسمی می‌باشد، ساعتی متحیر ماند و فکرهایش او رامضطرب ساخت. پس پادشاه متکلم شده، گفت: «ای بلطشصر خواب و تعبیرش تو را مضطرب نسازد.» بلطشصر در جواب گفت: «ای آقای من! خواب از برای دشمنانت و تعبیرش از برای خصمانت باشد.

20 The tree that thou saw, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached to heaven, and the sight of it to all the earth,

۲۰ درختی که دیدی که بزرگ وقوی گردید و ارتفاعش تا به آسمان رسید ومنظرش به تمامی زمین

21 whose leaves were fine, and the fruit of it much, and in it was food for all, under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the birds of the heavens had their habitation,

۲۱ و برگهایش جمیل و میوه‌اش بسیار و آذوقه برای همه در آن بود وحیوانات صحرا زیرش ساکن بودند و مرغان هوادر شاخه هایش ماوا گزیدند،

22 it is thou, O king, who have grown and become strong. For thy greatness has grown, and reaches to heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.

۲۲ ‌ای پادشاه آن درخت تو هستی زیرا که تو بزرگ و قوی گردیده‌ای و عظمت تو چنان افزوده شده است که به آسمان رسیده و سلطنت تو تا به اقصای زمین.

23 And whereas the king saw a watcher and a holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew down the tree, and destroy it. Nevertheless leave the stump of the roots of it in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field. And let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;

۲۳ و چونکه پادشاه پاسبانی و مقدسی را دید که ازآسمان نزول نموده، گفت: درخت را ببرید و آن راتلف سازید، لیکن کنده ریشه هایش را با بند آهن و برنج در زمین در میان سبزه های صحراواگذارید و از شبنم آسمان تر شود و نصیبش باحیوانات صحرا باشد تا هفت زمان بر آن بگذرد،

24 this is the interpretation, O king, and it is the decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king:

۲۴ ‌ای پادشاه تعبیر این است و فرمان حضرت متعال که بر آقایم پادشاه وارد شده است همین است،

25 That thou shall be driven from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. And thou shall be made to eat grass as oxen, and shall be wet with the dew of heaven. And seven times shall pass over thee till thou know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will.

۲۵ که تو را از میان مردمان خواهند راند ومسکن تو با حیوانات صحرا خواهد بود و تو رامثل گاوان علف خواهند خورانید و تو را از شبنم آسمان تر خواهند ساخت و هفت زمان بر توخواهد گذشت تا بدانی که حضرت متعال برممالک آدمیان حکمرانی می‌کند و آن را بهر‌که می‌خواهد عطا می‌فرماید.

26 And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the roots of the tree, thy kingdom shall be sure to thee, after thou shall have known that the heavens do rule.

۲۶ و چون گفتند که کنده ریشه های درخت را واگذارید، پس سلطنت تو برایت برقرار خواهد ماند بعد از آنکه دانسته باشی که آسمانها حکمرانی می‌کنند.

27 Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by showing mercy to the poor, if there may be a lengthening of thy tranquility.

۲۷ لهذا‌ای پادشاه نصیحت من تو را پسند آید و گناهان خودرا به عدالت و خطایای خویش را به احسان نمودن بر فقیران فدیه بده که شاید باعث طول اطمینان تو باشد.»

28 All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.

۲۸ این همه بر نبوکدنصرپادشاه واقع شد.

29 At the end of twelve months he was walking in the royal palace of Babylon.

۲۹ بعد از انقضای دوازده ماه او بالای قصرخسروی در بابل می‌خرامید.

30 The king spoke and said, Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling-place by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?

۳۰ و پادشاه متکلم شده، گفت: «آیا این بابل عظیم نیست که من آن را برای خانه سلطنت به توانایی قوت و حشمت جلال خود بنا نموده‌ام؟»

31 While the word was in the king's mouth, a voice from heaven fell, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken: The kingdom is departed from thee.

۳۱ این سخن هنوز برزبان پادشاه بود که آوازی از آسمان نازل شده، گفت: «ای پادشاه نبوکدنصر به تو گفته می‌شود که سلطنت از تو گذشته است.

32 And thou shall be driven from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. Thou shall be made to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will.

۳۲ و تو را از میان مردم خواهند راند و مسکن تو با حیوانات صحراخواهد بود و تو را مثل گاوان علف خواهندخورانید و هفت زمان بر تو خواهد گذشت تابدانی که حضرت متعال بر ممالک آدمیان حکمرانی می‌کند و آن را بهر‌که می‌خواهدمی دهد.»

33 The same hour the thing was fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar. And he was driven from men, and ate grass as oxen. And his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hair was grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.

۳۳ در همان ساعت این امر بر نبوکدنصر واقع شد و از میان مردمان رانده شده، مثل گاوان علف می‌خورد و بدنش از شبنم آسمان تر می‌شد تامویهایش مثل پرهای عقاب بلند شد وناخنهایش مثل چنگالهای مرغان گردید.

34 And at the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me. And I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honored him who lives forever. For his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom from generation to generation.

۳۴ و بعد از انقضای آن ایام من که نبوکدنصرهستم، چشمان خود را بسوی آسمان برافراشتم و عقل من به من برگشت و حضرت متعال رامتبارک خواندم و حی سرمدی را تسبیح و حمدگفتم زیرا که سلطنت او سلطنت جاودانی وملکوت او تا ابدالاباد است.

35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing, and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth. And none can stay his hand, or say to him, What are thou doing?

۳۵ و جمیع ساکنان جهان هیچ شمرده می‌شوند و با جنود آسمان وسکنه جهان بر وفق اراده خود عمل می‌نماید وکسی نیست که دست او را باز‌دارد یا او را بگویدکه چه می‌کنی.

36 At the same time my understanding returned to me, and for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and brightness returned to me, and my counselors and my lords sought to me. And I was established in my kingdom, and excellent greatness was added to me.

۳۶ در همان زمان عقل من به من برگشت و به جهت جلال سلطنت من حشمت وزینتم به من باز داده شد و مشیرانم و امرایم مراطلبیدند و بر سلطنت خود استوار گردیدم وعظمت عظیمی بر من افزوده شد.

37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are truth, and his ways justice. And he is able to abase those who walk in pride.

۳۷ الان من که نبوکدنصر هستم پادشاه آسمانها را تسبیح وتکبیر و حمد می‌گویم که تمام کارهای او حق و طریق های وی عدل است و کسانی که با تکبر راه می‌روند، او قادر است که ایشان را پست نماید.
