Daniel 12
1 And at that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands for the sons of thy people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time. And at that time thy people shall be delivered, everyone who shall be found written in the book.
És abban az időben támad Mikháél, a nagy vezér, a ki mellettük áll a te néped fiainak és lészen szorongatás ideje, milyen még nem volt, a mióta nemzet létezik, egészen addig az időig; és abban az időben meg fog menekülni a te néped, mindenki, a ki fölírva találtatik a könyvben.
2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
És sokan a föld porában alvók közül föl fognak ébredni: ezek örök életre s amazok gyalázatra, örök undorodásra.
3 And those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.
De a belátók fényleni fognak, mint az égboltozat fénye, s azok, a kik sokakat igazságra visznek, mint a csillagok mind örökké.
4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Te pedig, Dániél, zárd el a szavakat s pecsételjed le a könyvet a vég idejéig: buzgólkodni fognak sokan és gyarapodik a tudás.
5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and, behold, another two stood, the one on the brink of the river on this side, and the other on the brink of the river on that side.
És láttam én, Dániél, s íme más ketten állnak, az egyik a folyó partján innen, a másik a folyó partján tulnan.
6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
És mondta a lenbe öltözött férfiúnak, a ki a folyó vizein fölül volt: Meddig a csodák vége?
7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by him who lives forever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half. And when they have made an end of breaking in pieces the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
És hallottam a lenbe öltözött férfiút, ki a folyó vizein fölül volt s fölemelte jobbját s balját az ég felé s esküdött az örökké élőre: egy időszak, két időszak s egy félnek multáig; s midőn végkép szétzúzzák a szent nép hatalmát, bevégződnek mindezek.
8 And I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, O my lord, what shall be the outcome of these things?
Én hallottam ugyan, de nem értettem meg; és mondtam: Uram, mi ezeknek utólja?
9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed till the time of the end.
Mondta: Menj, Dániél, mert bezárva, lepecsételve vannak a szavak a végnek idejéig.
10 Many shall purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.
Meg fognak válogattatni s fehérittetni s olvasztatni sokan és gonoszul cselekesznek; mind a gonoszok nem fognak érteni, de a belátók fognak érteni.
11 And from the time that the continual burnt offering shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be a thousand and two hundred and ninety days.
És attól az időtől kezdve, hogy elvitetik az állandó áldozat és hogy elhelyezik a pusztitó undokságot ezerkétszázkilenczven nap.
12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.
Boldog az, a ki vár s megéri az ezerháromszázharminczöt napot.
13 But go thou thy way till the end is. For thou shall rest, and shall stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
Te pedig menj a vég felé, s nyugodni fogsz és fel fogsz támadni sorsodra a napok végén!
