Daniel 10
1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar, and the thing was true, even a great warfare. And he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
W trzecim roku Cyrusa, króla Persji, zostało objawione słowo Danielowi, któremu nadano imię Belteszassar; [to] słowo było prawdziwe i zamierzony czas [był] długi. Zrozumiał [to] słowo, bo otrzymał zrozumienie w widzeniu.
2 In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three whole weeks.
W tych dniach ja, Daniel, byłem smutny przez trzy tygodnie.
3 I ate no pleasant bread. Neither flesh nor wine came into my mouth. Neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
Nie jadłem smacznego chleba, mięsa i wina nie brałem do ust, i nie namaszczałem się olejkiem, aż się wypełniły trzy tygodnie.
4 And in the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel,
A dwudziestego czwartego dnia pierwszego miesiąca byłem nad brzegiem wielkiej rzeki, to jest Chiddekel;
5 I lifted up my eyes, and looked. And, behold, a man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with pure gold of Uphaz.
I podniosłem swoje oczy, i spojrzałem, a oto [stał] pewien mąż ubrany w lnianą szatę, a jego biodra [były] przepasane czystym złotem z Ufas;
6 Also his body was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as flaming torches, and his arms and his feet like burnished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
Jego ciało było jak z berylu, jego oblicze z wyglądu jak błyskawica, jego oczy – jak pochodnie ogniste, jego ramiona i nogi – jak blask wypolerowanej miedzi, a dźwięk jego słów – jak głos tłumu.
7 And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who were with me did not see the vision, but a great quaking fell upon them, and they fled to hide themselves.
Tylko ja sam, Daniel, miałem to widzenie. Mężczyźni, którzy byli ze mną, nie mieli tego widzenia; ale wielki strach padł na nich i pouciekali, aby się ukryć.
8 So I was left alone, and saw this great vision. And there remained no strength in me, for my fitness was turned in me into debility, and I retained no strength.
A ja sam zostałem i miałem to wielkie widzenie, ale nie pozostało we mnie siły. Moja uroda zmieniła się i zepsuła, i nie miałem [żadnej] siły.
9 Yet I heard the voice of his words. And when I heard the voice of his words, then I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground.
Wtedy usłyszałem dźwięk jego słów; a gdy usłyszałem dźwięk jego słów, upadłem na twarz w głęboki sen, twarzą ku ziemi.
10 And, behold, a hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
I oto dotknęła mnie ręka, i podniosła mnie na moje kolana i na dłonie moich rąk.
11 And he said to me, O Daniel, thou man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to thee, and stand upright, for I am now sent to thee. And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood, trembling.
I powiedział do mnie: Danielu, mężu bardzo umiłowany, uważaj na moje słowa, które mówię do ciebie, i stań na nogi, bo jestem teraz posłany do ciebie. A gdy przemówił do mnie to słowo, stanąłem drżąc.
12 Then he said to me, Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that thou set thy heart to understand, and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words were heard. And I have come for thy words' sake.
Wtedy powiedział do mnie: Nie bój się, Danielu, bo od pierwszego dnia, gdy wziąłeś sobie do serca [to], aby zrozumieć i ukorzyć się przed swoim Bogiem, twoje słowa zostały wysłuchane, a ja przybyłem ze względu na twoje słowa.
13 But the ruler of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me. And I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Lecz książę królestwa Persji sprzeciwiał mi się przez dwadzieścia jeden dni, ale oto Michał, jeden z przedniejszych książąt, przyszedł mi z pomocą; a ja zostałem tam przy królach Persji.
14 I have come now to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days, for the vision is yet for many days.
Ale przybyłem, aby ci oznajmić, co spotka twój lud w dniach ostatecznych, bo to widzenie [będzie] jeszcze na te dni.
15 And when he had spoken to me according to these words, I set my face toward the ground, and was mute.
A gdy mówił do mnie tymi słowy, opuściłem twarz ku ziemi i zamilkłem.
16 And, behold, someone in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth, and spoke and said to him who stood before me, O my lord, because of the vision my pains have turned upon me, and I retain no strength.
A oto [ktoś] jakby podobny do synów ludzkich dotknął moich warg. Otworzyłem usta i mówiłem, powiedziałem do stojącego przede mną: Mój panie, z powodu tego widzenia dopadły mnie boleści i nie mam [żadnej] siły.
17 For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? For as for me, straightaway there remained no strength in me, nor was there breath left in me.
A jakże będzie mógł taki sługa mego pana rozmawiać w ten sposób z moim panem? Gdyż od tego czasu nie została we mnie siła i nie ma we mnie tchu.
18 Then someone like the appearance of a man touched me again, and he strengthened me.
Wtedy ponownie dotknął mnie [ten, który był] podobny do człowieka, i wzmocnił mnie;
19 And he said, O man greatly beloved, fear not. Peace be to thee. Be strong, yea, be strong. And when he spoke to me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak, for thou have strengthened me.
I powiedział: Nie bój się, mężu bardzo umiłowany, pokój tobie! Wzmocnij się, mówię, wzmocnij się. A gdy mówił do mnie, nabrałem siły i powiedziałem: Niech mój pan mówi, bo mnie wzmocniłeś.
20 Then he said, Do thou know why I have come to thee? And now I will return to fight with the ruler of Persia. And when I go forth, lo, the ruler of Greece shall come.
Powiedział: Czy wiesz, dlaczego przybyłem do ciebie? Teraz wrócę, aby walczyć z księciem Persji. A gdy odejdę [stamtąd], oto nadejdzie książę Grecji.
21 But I will tell thee that which is inscribed in the writing of truth. And there is none who holds with me against these, but Michael your prince.
Ale oznajmię ci to, co jest zapisane w piśmie prawdy. I nie ma nikogo, który by mężnie stał przy mnie w tych sprawach, oprócz Michała, waszego księcia.
