Daniel 10
1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar, and the thing was true, even a great warfare. And he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
Ngomnyaka wesithathu kaKoresi inkosi yePerisiya ulutho lwembulelwa uDaniyeli, obizo lakhe labizwa ngokuthi nguBeliteshazari. Njalo lolulutho lwaluliqiniso mayelana lokulwisana okukhulu. Njalo waluqedisisa lolulutho, waba lokuqedisisa ngombono.
2 In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three whole weeks.
Ngalezonsuku, mina Daniyeli ngangilila okwamaviki amathathu agcweleyo.
3 I ate no pleasant bread. Neither flesh nor wine came into my mouth. Neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
Kangidlanga sinkwa esiloyisekayo, njalo kakuzanga nyama kumbe iwayini emlonyeni wami, futhi kangizigcobanga ngitsho, kwaze kwagcwaliseka amaviki amathathu ezinsuku.
4 And in the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel,
Kwathi ngosuku lwamatshumi amabili lane lwenyanga yokuqala, mina ngiseceleni komfula omkhulu, oyiHidekeli;
5 I lifted up my eyes, and looked. And, behold, a man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with pure gold of Uphaz.
ngasengiphakamisa amehlo ami, ngabona, khangela-ke umuntu othile egqoke ilembu elicolekileyo, okhalo lwakhe lwalubhincwe ngegolide elicwengekileyo leUfazi.
6 Also his body was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as flaming torches, and his arms and his feet like burnished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
Lomzimba wakhe wawunjengebherule, lobuso bakhe babunjengesimo sombane, lamehlo akhe njengezibane zomlilo, lengalo zakhe lenyawo zakhe njengombala wethusi elikhazimulayo, lelizwi lamazwi akhe njengomsindo wexuku.
7 And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who were with me did not see the vision, but a great quaking fell upon them, and they fled to hide themselves.
Yimi ngedwa uDaniyeli engabona lowombono, ngoba abantu ababelami kabawubonanga umbono. Kodwa ukuqhuqha okukhulu kwabehlela, baze babaleka ukuze bacatshe.
8 So I was left alone, and saw this great vision. And there remained no strength in me, for my fitness was turned in me into debility, and I retained no strength.
Ngakho mina ngasala ngedwa, ngabona lumbono omkhulu, futhi kakusalanga mandla kimi, lobuhle bami baguquka kimi baba yikonakala, kangisalelwanga ngamandla.
9 Yet I heard the voice of his words. And when I heard the voice of his words, then I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground.
Ngasengisizwa ilizwi lamazwi akhe; njalo lapho ngisizwa ilizwi lamazwi akhe, mina ngehlelwa yibuthongo obukhulu ebusweni bami, lobuso bami bungasemhlabathini.
10 And, behold, a hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
Khangela-ke, isandla sangithinta, sangimisa ngithuthumela ngamadolo ami lempama zezandla zami.
11 And he said to me, O Daniel, thou man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to thee, and stand upright, for I am now sent to thee. And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood, trembling.
Wasesithi kimi: Daniyeli, umuntu othandwe kakhulu, zwisisa amazwi engiwakhuluma kuwe, ume ngokuma kwakho, ngoba khathesi ngithunywe kuwe. Esekhulume lelilizwi kimi, ngema ngithuthumela.
12 Then he said to me, Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that thou set thy heart to understand, and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words were heard. And I have come for thy words' sake.
Wasesithi kimi: Ungesabi, Daniyeli, ngoba kusukela osukwini lokuqala owabeka ngalo inhliziyo yakho ukuqedisisa lokuzithoba phambi kukaNkulunkulu wakho, amazwi akho ezwakala, ngizile-ke mina ngenxa yamazwi akho.
13 But the ruler of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me. And I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Kodwa isiphathamandla sombuso wamaPerisiya samelana lami okwensuku ezingamatshumi amabili lanye; kodwa khangela, uMikayeli omunye weziphathamandla zakuqala weza ukuzangisiza; mina ngasengisala khona ngasemakhosini ePerisiya.
14 I have come now to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days, for the vision is yet for many days.
Khathesi ngizile ukuthi ngikwenze uqedisise okuzakwehlela abantu bakho ekucineni kwezinsuku, ngoba umbono usengowezinsuku ezinengi.
15 And when he had spoken to me according to these words, I set my face toward the ground, and was mute.
Esekhulumile amazwi anje kimi, ngakhangelisa ubuso bami emhlabathini, ngaba yisimungulu.
16 And, behold, someone in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth, and spoke and said to him who stood before me, O my lord, because of the vision my pains have turned upon me, and I retain no strength.
Khangela-ke, omunye ofanana lomfanekiso wamadodana abantu wathinta indebe zami; ngasengivula umlomo wami, ngakhuluma, ngathi kulowo owayemi phambi kwami: Nkosi yami, ngenxa yombono izinsizi zami seziphendukele phezu kwami, kangaba lamandla.
17 For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? For as for me, straightaway there remained no strength in me, nor was there breath left in me.
Ngoba inceku yale inkosi yami ingaba lakho ukukhuluma njani lale inkosi yami? Mayelana lami, kusukela ngalesosikhathi kakusalanga mandla kimi, lokuphefumula kwakungasekho kimi.
18 Then someone like the appearance of a man touched me again, and he strengthened me.
Wasebuya wangithinta onjengomfanekiso womuntu, wangiqinisa.
19 And he said, O man greatly beloved, fear not. Peace be to thee. Be strong, yea, be strong. And when he spoke to me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak, for thou have strengthened me.
Wasesithi: Ungesabi, muntu othandiweyo kakhulu; ukuthula kakube kuwe, qina, yebo, qina. Kwathi esekhulume lami, ngaqiniswa, ngathi: Kayikhulume inkosi yami, ngoba ungiqinisile.
20 Then he said, Do thou know why I have come to thee? And now I will return to fight with the ruler of Persia. And when I go forth, lo, the ruler of Greece shall come.
Wasesithi: Uyazi yini ukuthi ngizeleni kuwe? Khathesi-ke ngizabuyela ukuzakulwa lesiphathamandla sePerisiya; lalapho sengiphumile, khangela-ke, isiphathamandla seGirisi sizafika.
21 But I will tell thee that which is inscribed in the writing of truth. And there is none who holds with me against these, but Michael your prince.
Kodwa ngizakutshela lokho okubhaliweyo embhalweni weqiniso; njalo kakho loyedwa obambisana lami kulezizinto, ngaphandle kukaMikayeli isiphathamandla senu.
