Amos 9
1 I saw the Lord standing beside the altar. And he said, Smite the capitals, that the thresholds may shake, and break them in pieces on the head of all of them, and I will kill the last of them with the sword. There shall not one of them flee away, and there shall not one of them escape.
J'ai vu le Seigneur debout sur l'autel, et Il a dit: Frappe sur le propitiatoire, et le temple sera ébranlé; frappe ensuite sur toutes les têtes. Et ceux qui resteront, Je les ferai périr par le glaive; nul n'échappera par la fuite, nul ne sera sauvé, ni ne trouvera de salut.
2 Though they dig into Sheol, from there my hand shall take them, and though they climb up to heaven, from there I will bring them down. (Sheol h7585)
Dussent-ils se cacher en enfer, Ma main les en arracherait; dussent-ils monter aux cieux, Je les en précipiterais. (Sheol h7585)
3 And though they hide themselves on the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out from there. And though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, from there I will command the serpent, and it shall bite them.
Dussent-ils s'enfermer dans les grottes du Carmel, je saurai les y trouver et les prendre; dussent-ils, hors de Ma vue, plonger dans les abîmes de la mer, Je donnerais Mes ordres au dragon, et il les suivrait.
4 And though they go into captivity before their enemies, from there I will command the sword, and it shall kill them. And I will set my eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.
Dussent-ils partir captifs devant leurs ennemis, là Je commanderais au glaive, et il les exterminerait tous. Et J'attacherai sur eux Mes regards pour leur malheur, et non pour leur bien.
5 For the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, is he who touches the land and it melts, and all who dwell therein shall mourn. And it shall rise up wholly like the River, and shall sink again like the River of Egypt.
Et le Seigneur Maître, Dieu tout-puissant, touche la terre, et elle est ébranlée; et tous ceux qui l'habitent seront dans la douleur; et la destruction montera comme le fleuve de l'Égypte, et descendra comme lui.
6 He who builds his chambers in the heavens, and has founded his vault upon the earth, he who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth, Jehovah is his name.
C'est Lui qui bâtit des degrés pour monter au ciel, et affermit Sa promesse sur les fondements de la terre; c'est Lui qui appelle les eaux de la mer, et les verse sur la face de la terre; le Seigneur tout-puissant est Son Nom.
7 Are ye not as the sons of the Ethiopians to me, O sons of Israel? says Jehovah. Have I not brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt, and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?
Fils d'Israël, n'êtes-vous point pour Moi comme les fils des Éthiopiens? dit le Seigneur. N'est-ce point Moi qui ai fait venir Israël de l'Égypte, comme les Philistins de la Cappadoce, et les Syriens de la mer?
8 Behold, the eyes of the lord Jehovah are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth, except that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, says Jehovah.
Voilà que le Seigneur Dieu a les yeux sur le royaume des pécheurs, et je l'effacerai de la terre. Mais Je n'enlèverai pas entièrement la maison de Jacob, dit le Seigneur.
9 For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all the nations, just as grain is sifted in a sieve, yet the least kernel shall not fall upon the earth.
Car c'est Moi qui commande, et je vannerai, parmi toutes les nations, la maison d'Israël, comme on vanne le blé au van, et pas un débris ne tombera par terre.
10 All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, who say, The evil shall not overtake nor meet us.
Tous les pécheurs de Mon peuple périront par le glaive, eux qui disent: Le malheur ne nous approchera pas, il ne viendra pas sur nous.
11 In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof. And I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old,
Et ce jour-là Je relèverai le tabernacle de David, qui était tombé; J'en réparerai les brèches, J'en réédifierai les ruines, et Je le restaurerai comme il était dans les anciens jours,
12 that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the nations that are called by my name, says Jehovah who does this.
afin que le reste des hommes et tous les gentils, par qui Mon Nom a été invoqué, Me cherchent, dit le Seigneur, qui fera toutes ces choses.
13 Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed, and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.
Voilà que les jours arrivent, dit le Seigneur, où la moisson atteindra la vendange, et où la grappe noircira pendant les semailles. Et les montagnes ruisselleront de douceur, et toutes les collines seront plantées.
14 And I will bring back the captivity of my people Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them, and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine of it. They shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
Et Je ramènerai Mon peuple Israël de la captivité, et ils réédifieront les villes détruites, et ils les habiteront; ils planteront des vignes, et ils en boiront le vin; ils cultiveront des jardins, et ils en mangeront les fruits.
15 And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be plucked up out of their land which I have given them, says Jehovah thy God.
Et Je les rétablirai dans leur héritage, et ils ne seront plus arrachés de la terre que Je leur ai donnée, dit le Seigneur Dieu tout-puissant.
