Amos 2
1 Thus says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Moab, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment of it, because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime.
Waaqayyo akkana jedha: “Ani cubbuu Moʼaab sadiif, afuriifis dheekkamsa koo duubatti hin deebisu. Sababii inni lafee mootii Edoom gubee daaraa godheef,
2 But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth, and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.
ani ibidda daʼannoo Keriiyooti barbadeessu tokko Moʼaabitti nan erga. Moʼaab iyya waraanaatii fi sagalee malakataatiin duʼa.
3 And I will cut off the judge from the midst of it, and will kill all the rulers of it with him, says Jehovah.
Ani bulchaa ishee ajjeesee qondaaltota ishee hundas isa wajjinin fixa” jedha Waaqayyo.
4 Thus says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Judah, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment of it, because they have rejected the law of Jehovah, and have not kept his statutes, and their lies have caused them to err, according to which their fathers walked.
Waaqayyo akkana jedha: “Ani cubbuu Yihuudaa sadiif, afuriifis dheekkamsa koo duubatti hin deebisu. Sababii isaan seera Waaqayyoo didanii ajaja isaas hin eeginiif, sababii isaan waaqota sobaa, waaqota abbootiin isaanii duukaa buʼan sanaan karaa irraa jalʼataniif,
5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.
ani ibidda daʼannoo Yerusaalem barbadeessu tokko Yihuudaatti nan erga.”
6 Thus says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment of it, because they have sold a righteous man for silver, and a needy man for a pair of shoes-
Waaqayyo akkana jedha: “Ani cubbuu Israaʼel sadiif, afuriifis dheekkamsa koo duubatti hin deebisu. Isaan qajeeltota meetiitti, rakkattoota immoo kophee cimdii tokkotti gurguratan.
7 those who pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek. And a man and his father go to the same maiden, to profane my holy name.
Isaan akkuma biyyoo lafaatti mataa hiyyeeyyii irra ijaajjanii cunqurfamaas murtii qajeelaa dhowwatan. Abbaa fi ilmi durba tokkotti galanii akkasiin maqaa koo qulqulluu xureessan.
8 And they lay themselves down beside every altar upon clothes taken in pledge. And in the house of their God they drink the wine of such as have been fined.
Isaan uffata qabdiidhaan nama irraa fudhatan irra iddoo aarsaa hunda bira ciciisan. Isaan daadhii wayinii kan warra adabaman biraa dhufe, mana waaqa isaanii keessatti dhugu.
9 Yet I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks, yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.
“Inni akkuma birbirsaa dheeratee akka qilxuu jabaatu iyyuu, ani namicha Amoor sana fuula isaanii duratti galaafadheera. Ani gubbaadhaa ija isaa, jalaan immoo hidda isaa balleesseera.
10 Also I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.
“Ani biyya Amoorotaa isiniif kennuuf jedhee, biyya Gibxiitii isin baasee waggaa afurtama gammoojjii keessa isinan geggeesse.
11 And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazirites. Is it not even thus, O ye sons of Israel? says Jehovah.
“Akkasumas ani ilmaan keessan gidduudhaa raajota, dargaggoota keessan gidduudhaa immoo Naaziroota kaaseera. Yaa saba Israaʼel, wanni kun dhuguma mitii?” jedha Waaqayyo.
12 But ye gave the Nazirites wine to drink, and commanded the prophets, saying, Do not Prophesy.
“Isin garuu Naaziroota daadhii wayinii obaaftanii akka raajonnis raajii hin dubbanne ajajjan.
13 Behold, I will press you in your place, as a cart presses that is full of sheaves.
“Ani akkuma gaariin yommuu midhaaniin guutamu caccabu sana, amma isinan caccabsa.
14 And flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, nor shall the mighty deliver himself.
Saffisaan hin miliqu; namoonni jajjaboon humna isaanii hin jabeeffatan; loltuunis lubbuu isaa hin oolfatu.
15 Neither shall he stand who handles the bow. And he who is swift of foot shall not deliver himself, nor shall he who rides the horse deliver himself.
Abbaan xiyyaa jabaatee dhaabachuu hin dandaʼu; loltuun saffisaan fiigee jalaa hin baʼu; abbaan fardaas lubbuu isaa oolfachuu hin dandaʼu.
16 And he who is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, says Jehovah.
Loltoonni akka malee jajjaboon iyyuu gaafas qullaa isaanii baqatu” jedha Waaqayyo.
