3 John 1
1 The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth.
प्राचीन की ओर से, प्रिय गायॉस को, जिससे मुझे वास्तव में प्रेम है.
2 Beloved, I pray for thee to prosper concerning all things, and to be healthy, just as thy soul prospers.
प्रिय भाई बहनो, मेरी कामना है कि जिस प्रकार तुम अपनी आत्मा में उन्नत हो, ठीक वैसे ही अन्य क्षेत्रों में भी उन्नत होते जाओ और स्वस्थ रहो.
3 For I rejoiced exceedingly of brothers coming and testifying to the truth of thee, just as thou walk in truth.
मुझसे भेंट करने आए साथी विश्वासियों द्वारा सच्चाई में तुम्हारी स्थिरता का विवरण अर्थात् सत्य में तुम्हारे स्वभाव के विषय में सुनकर मुझे बहुत ही खुशी हुई.
4 I have no greater joy than these things that I hear my children walking in truth.
मेरे लिए इससे बढ़कर और कोई आनंद नहीं कि मैं यह सुनूं कि मेरे बालकों का स्वभाव सच्चाई के अनुसार है.
5 Beloved, thou do a faithful thing, whatever thou work for the brothers and for strangers,
प्रिय भाई बहनो, जो कुछ तुम साथी विश्वासियों, विशेष रूप से परदेशी साथी विश्वासियों की भलाई में कर रहे हो, तुम्हारी सच्चाई का सबूत है.
6 who testified about thy love in sight of the congregation, whom thou will do well having helped send on their way worthily of God.
वे कलीसिया के सामने तुम्हारे प्रेम के गवाह हैं. सही यह है कि तुम उन्हें इसी भाव में विदा करो, जो परमेश्वर को ग्रहण योग्य हो,
7 For they went forth on behalf of the Name, taking nothing from the Gentiles.
क्योंकि उन्होंने गैर-यहूदियों से बिना कोई सहायता स्वीकार किए प्रभु के लिए काम प्रारंभ किया था.
8 We therefore ought to welcome such men, so that we might become fellow workmen for the truth.
इसलिये सही है कि हम ऐसे व्यक्तियों का सत्कार करें कि हम उस सत्य के सहकर्मी हो जाएं.
9 I wrote to the congregation, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first of them, did not accept us.
मैंने कलीसिया को पत्र लिखा था परंतु दिओत्रिफ़ेस, जो उनमें हमेशा ही अगुआ बनना चाहता है, हमारी नहीं मानता.
10 Because of this, if I come, I will remember his works that he does, prating against us with evil words. And not being satisfied in these, he himself does not even accept the brothers, and he forbids those who would, and expels them out of the congregation.
इसी कारण जब मैं वहां आऊंगा तो तुम्हारे सामने उसके द्वारा किए गए सभी कामों को स्पष्ट कर दूंगा अर्थात् सारे बुरे-बुरे शब्दों का प्रयोग करते हुए हम पर लगाए गए आरोपों का. इतना ही नहीं, वह न तो स्वयं उपदेशकों को स्वीकार करता है और न ही कलीसिया के सदस्यों को ऐसा करने देता है, जो ऐसा करने के इच्छुक हैं. वस्तुतः उन्हें वह कलीसिया से बाहर कर देता है.
11 Beloved, do not imitate the evil, but the good. The man doing right is of God. The man doing wrong has not seen God.
प्रिय भाई बहनो, बुराई का नहीं परंतु भलाई का अनुसरण करो क्योंकि भला करनेवाला परमेश्वर का है; जो बुराई करनेवाला है उसने परमेश्वर को नहीं देखा.
12 Demetrius has been testified by all, and by the truth itself. But we also testify, and ye know that our testimony is true.
देमेत्रियॉस की सभी प्रशंसा करते हैं. स्वयं सच उसका गवाह है. हम भी उसके गवाह हैं और तुम यह जानते हो कि हमारी गवाही सच है.
13 I had many things to write, but I did not want to write to thee by pen and ink.
हालांकि लिखने योग्य अनेक विषय हैं किंतु मैं स्याही और लेखनी इस्तेमाल नहीं करना चाहता.
14 But I hope to see thee straightaway, and we will speak mouth to mouth. Peace to thee. The friends salute thee. Salute the friends by name.
मेरी आशा है कि मैं तुमसे बहुत जल्द भेंटकर आमने-सामने आपस में बातचीत करूंगा. तुम्हें शांति मिले. तुम्हें मित्रों का नमस्कार. व्यक्तिगत रूप से हर एक मित्र को नमस्कार करना.
