2 Samuel 9

1 And David said, Is there yet any who is left of the house of Saul that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?

Und David sprach: Ist auch noch jemand überblieben von dem Hause Sauls, daß ich Barmherzigkeit an ihm tue um Jonathans willen?

2 And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David. And the king said to him, Are thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he.

Es war aber ein Knecht vom Hause Sauls, der hieß Ziba, den riefen sie zu David. Und der König sprach zu ihm: Bist du Ziba? Er sprach: Ja, dein Knecht.

3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul that I may show the kindness of God to him? And Ziba said to the king, Jonathan has yet a son who is lame in his feet.

Der König sprach: Ist noch jemand vom Hause Sauls, daß ich Gottes Barmherzigkeit an ihm tue? Ziba sprach zum Könige: Es ist noch da ein Sohn Jonathans, lahm an Füßen.

4 And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar.

Der König sprach zu ihm: Wo ist er? Ziba sprach zum Könige: Siehe, er ist zu Lodabar, im Hause Machirs, des Sohns Ammiels.

5 Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.

Da sandte der König David hin und ließ ihn holen von Lodabar aus dem Hause Machirs, des Sohns Ammiels.

6 And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face, and did obeisance. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold, thy servant!

Da nun Mephiboseth, der Sohn Jonathans, des Sohns Sauls, zu David kam, fiel er auf sein Angesicht und betete an. David aber sprach: Mephiboseth! Er sprach: Hie bin ich, dein Knecht.

7 And David said to him, Fear not, for I will surely show thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore to thee all the land of Saul thy father, and thou shall eat bread at my table continually.

David sprach zu ihm: Fürchte dich nicht; denn ich will Barmherzigkeit an dir tun um Jonathans, deines Vaters, willen und will dir allen Acker deines Vaters Saul wiedergeben; du aber sollst täglich auf meinem Tisch das Brot essen.

8 And he did obeisance, and said, What is thy servant that thou should look upon such a dead dog as I am?

Er aber betete an und sprach: Wer bin ich, dein Knecht, daß du dich wendest zu einem toten Hunde, wie ich bin?

9 Then the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said to him, All that pertained to Saul and to all his house I have given to thy master's son.

Da rief der König Ziba, dem Knaben Sauls, und sprach zu ihm: Alles, was Sauls gewesen ist und seines ganzen Hauses, habe ich dem Sohn deines HERRN gegeben.

10 And thou shall till the land for him, thou, and thy sons, and thy servants. And thou shall bring in the fruits that thy master's son may have bread to eat, but Mephibosheth thy master's son shall always eat bread at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

So arbeite ihm nun seinen Acker, du und deine Kinder und Knechte, und bringe es ein, daß es deines HERRN Sohnes Brot sei, daß er sich nähre; aber Mephiboseth, deines HERRN Sohn, soll täglich das Brot essen auf meinem Tisch. Ziba aber hatte fünfzehn Söhne und zwanzig Knechte.

11 Then Ziba said to the king, According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, the king said, he shall eat at my table as one of the king's sons.

Und Ziba sprach zum Könige: Alles, wie mein HERR, der König, seinem Knechte geboten hat, so soll sein Knecht tun. Und Mephiboseth esse auf meinem Tisch, wie des Königs Kinder eins.

12 And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Mica. And all who dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants to Mephibosheth.

Und Mephiboseth hatte einen kleinen Sohn, der hieß Micha. Aber alles, was im Hause Zibas wohnete, das dienete Mephiboseth.

13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the king's table. And he was lame in both his feet.

Mephiboseth aber wohnete zu Jerusalem, denn er aß täglich auf des Königs Tisch; und hinkte mit seinen beiden Füßen.
