2 Samuel 8
1 And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them. And David took the bridle of the mother city out of the hand of the Philistines.
൧പിന്നീട് ദാവീദ് ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ ആക്രമിച്ച് കീഴ്പ്പെടുത്തി; ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്ന് മെഥെഗ് അമ്മാഹ് പിടിച്ചെടുത്തു.
2 And he smote Moab, and measured them with the line, making them to lie down on the ground. And he measured two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. And the Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.
൨അവൻ മോവാബ്യരെയും തോല്പിച്ചു; തടവുകാരെ മൂന്നായി വിഭാഗിച്ചു, മൂന്നിൽ രണ്ടു ഭാഗത്തെ കൊല്ലുവാനും മൂന്നിലൊരു ഭാഗത്തെ ജീവിക്കുവാനും അനുവദിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ മോവാബ്യർ ദാവീദിന് ദാസന്മാരായി കപ്പം കൊടുത്തു വന്നു.
3 David also smote Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his dominion at the River.
൩രെഹോബിന്റെ മകനായി സോബരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെർ യൂഫ്രട്ടീസ് നദീതീരത്തുള്ള തന്റെ ഭൂപ്രദേശം തിരിച്ചുപിടിക്കുവാൻ പോയപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് അവനെയും തോല്പിച്ചു.
4 And David took from him a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen. And David hocked all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for a hundred chariots.
൪അവന്റെ വക ആയിരം രഥങ്ങളും ആയിരത്തെഴുനൂറു കുതിരപ്പടയാളികളേയും ഇരുപതിനായിരം കാലാളുകളെയും ദാവീദ് പിടിച്ചെടുത്തു; രഥക്കുതിരകളിൽ നൂറു എണ്ണം മാത്രം സംരക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ശേഷം എല്ലാ കുതിരകളുടെയും കുതിഞരമ്പ് വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.
5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to aid Hadadezer king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians twenty-two thousand men.
൫സോബരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെരിനെ സഹായിക്കുവാൻ ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ അരാമ്യർ വന്നപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് അരാമ്യരിൽ ഇരുപത്തിരണ്ടായിരംപേരെ സംഹരിച്ചു.
6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. And Jehovah gave victory to David wherever he went.
൬പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ അരാമിൽ കാവൽസൈന്യത്തെ പാർപ്പിച്ചു; അരാമ്യരും ദാവീദിന് ദാസന്മാരായിത്തീർന്ന് കപ്പം കൊടുത്തുവന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് ചെന്നിടത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവ അവന് ജയം നല്കി.
7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
൭ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ കാര്യാധികാരികള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പൊൻപരിചകൾ ദാവീദ് എടുത്ത് യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
8 And from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceedingly much brass.
൮ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളായ ബേതഹിൽനിന്നും ബെരോതായിൽനിന്നും ദാവീദ് രാജാവ് അനവധി താമ്രവും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
9 And when Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the army of Hadadezer,
൯ദാവീദ് ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ സർവ്വസൈന്യത്തെയും തോല്പിച്ചു എന്ന് ഹമാത്ത്‌ രാജാവായ തോയി കേട്ടപ്പോൾ
10 then Toi sent Joram his son to king David to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and smitten him, for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass.
൧൦ദാവീദ് രാജാവിനെ വന്ദനം ചെയ്യുവാനും അവൻ ഹദദേസെരിനോട് യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു അവനെ തോല്പിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ അഭിനന്ദിക്കുവാനും തോയി തന്റെ മകൻ യോരാമിനെ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു (ഹദദേസെരിന്നു തോയിയോടു കൂടക്കൂടെ യുദ്ധമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു). യോരാം വെള്ളി, പൊന്നു, താമ്രം എന്നിവകൊണ്ടുള്ള സാധനങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
11 These also king David dedicated to Jehovah with the silver and gold that he dedicated of all the nations which he subdued:
൧൧ദാവീദ് രാജാവ് ഇവയെ അരാമ്യർ, മോവാബ്യർ, അമ്മോന്യർ, ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ, അമാലേക്യർ എന്നിങ്ങനെ താൻ കീഴടക്കിയ സകലജനതകളുടെയും പക്കൽനിന്നും
12 of Syria, and of Moab, and of the sons of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
൧൨രെഹോബിന്റെ മകനായി സോബരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ കൊള്ളയിൽനിന്നും എടുത്ത വെള്ളിയോടും പൊന്നിനോടുംകൂടി യഹോവയ്ക്ക് സമർപ്പിച്ചു.
13 And David got a name for him when he returned from smiting the Syrians in the Valley of Salt, even eighteen thousand men.
൧൩പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് ഉപ്പുതാഴ്വരയിൽവച്ച് പതിനെണ്ണായിരം അരാമ്യരെ സംഹരിച്ചു മടങ്ങിവന്നപ്പോൾ തനിക്ക് കീർത്തി സമ്പാദിച്ചു.
14 And he put garrisons in Edom. He put garrisons throughout all Edom, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And Jehovah gave victory to David wherever he went.
൧൪ദാവീദ് ഏദോമിലും സൈനീക പാളയത്തെ നിയമിച്ചു; ഏദോമിൽ എല്ലായിടത്തും അവൻ കാവൽസൈന്യത്തെ പാർപ്പിച്ചു; ഏദോമ്യരെല്ലാവരും ദാവീദിന് ദാസന്മാരായിത്തീർന്നു; ദാവീദ് ചെന്നിടത്തെല്ലാം യഹോവ അവന് ജയം നല്കി.
15 And David reigned over all Israel. And David executed justice and righteousness to all his people.
൧൫ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് എല്ലാ യിസ്രായേലിനെയും ഭരിച്ചു; ദാവീദ് തന്റെ സകലജനത്തിനും നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തിക്കൊടുത്തു.
16 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army, and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder,
൧൬സെരൂയയുടെ മകൻ യോവാബ് സേനാധിപതിയും അഹീലൂദിന്റെ മകൻ യെഹോശാഫാത് രാജകീയ ചരിത്രം എഴുതുന്നവനും ആയിരുന്നു.
17 and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests, and Seraiah was scribe,
൧൭അഹീതൂബിന്റെ മകൻ സാദോക്കും അബ്യാഥാരിന്റെ മകൻ അഹീമേലെക്കും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും സെരായാ പകർപ്പെഴുത്തുകാരനും ആയിരുന്നു.
18 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and David's sons were chief ministers.
൧൮യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകൻ ബെനായാവ് ക്രേത്യർക്കും പ്ലേത്യർക്കും അധിപതി ആയിരുന്നു; ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോ പുരോഹിതന്മാരുമായിരുന്നു.
