2 Peter 3

1 I write to you now this second letter, beloved, in which I arouse your sincere mind by a reminder,

அன்புக்குரியவர்களே, இது நான் உங்களுக்கு எழுதும் இரண்டாவது கடிதம். இந்த இரண்டு கடிதங்களையும் உங்களின் நற்சிந்தனைகளைத் தூண்டிவிடும் நினைப்பூட்டுதல்களாகவே எழுதியிருக்கிறேன்.

2 to remember the sayings that were earlier spoken by the holy prophets, and of the command of your apostles of the Lord and Savior.

பரிசுத்த இறைவாக்கினர்களால் கடந்த காலத்தில் பேசப்பட்ட வார்த்தைகளையும், நம்முடைய கர்த்தரும் இரட்சகரும் உங்களுடைய அப்போஸ்தலர்கள் மூலமாய் கொடுத்த கட்டளைகளையும் நீங்கள் நினைவில் வைத்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டுமென்றே நான் விரும்புகிறேன்.

3 Knowing this first, that there will come at the end of the days, scoffers, proceeding according to their own desires,

முதலாவதாக, கடைசி நாட்களில் ஏளனக்காரர்கள் வருவார்கள் என்பதை நீங்கள் விளங்கிக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். அவர்கள் ஏளனம் பண்ணுகிறவர்களாயும், தங்கள் தீய ஆசையின்படி நடக்கிறவர்களாயும் இருப்பார்கள்.

4 and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For, from since the fathers became asleep, all things continue this way from the beginning of creation.

“அவர் திரும்பிவருவதாக வாக்குத்தத்தம் செய்தாரே, அது எங்கே? நம்முடைய முற்பிதாக்கள் இறந்துபோன காலத்திலிருந்து, படைப்பின் ஆரம்பத்தில் இருந்ததுபோலவேதான் எல்லாம் நடைபெறுகிறது” என்று சொல்வார்கள்.

5 For this is willfully ignored by them, that long ago there were heavens, and an earth that came together out of water and by water by the word of God,

ஆனால் அவர்கள் வெகுகாலத்திற்கு முன்பு, இறைவனுடைய வார்த்தையாலே வானங்கள் உண்டாயின என்பதையும், தண்ணீரிலிருந்து தண்ணீரைப் பிரித்து பூமி உண்டாக்கப்பட்டது என்பதையும், அவர்கள் வேண்டுமென்றே மறந்துவிடுகிறார்கள்.

6 by which the world then perished, having been overflowed with water.

அக்காலத்து உலகமும் இந்தத் தண்ணீரினாலேயே மூழ்கடிக்கப்பட்டு அழிக்கப்பட்டது.

7 But now the heavens and the earth, which have been stored up by the same word, are being preserved for fire in a day of judgment and destruction of irreverent men.

அதே வார்த்தையினாலே தற்காலத்திலுள்ள வானங்களும் பூமியும் நெருப்பினால் எரிக்கப்படுவதற்காக நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன. நியாயத்தீர்ப்பின் நாள்வரைக்கும், அதாவது இறை பக்தியற்றவர்கள் அழிக்கப்படும்வரைக்கும் இவை இன்னும் வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன.

8 But beloved, let not this one thing be ignored by you, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

என் அன்புக்குரியவர்களே, கர்த்தருக்கு ஒரு நாள் ஆயிரம் வருடங்களைப்போலவும், ஆயிரம் வருடங்கள் ஒரு நாளைப் போலவும் இருக்கின்றன என்ற உண்மையை மறந்துவிடாதீர்கள்.

9 The Lord is not slack about his promise, as some regard slackness, but is patient toward us, not wanting any to perish, but all to go forward to repentance.

கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய வாக்குத்தத்தத்தை நிறைவேற்றுவதில் தாமதம் செய்கிறார் என்று சிலர் சொல்லிக்கொள்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்கள் விளங்கிக்கொள்கிறவிதத்தில் கர்த்தர் காலதாமதம் செய்யவில்லை. ஆனால் அவர், உங்களைக்குறித்து பொறுமையாய் இருக்கிறார். ஏனெனில், யாரும் அழிந்துபோவதை அவர் விரும்பவில்லை. எல்லோரும் மனந்திரும்புதலை அடையவேண்டும் என்பதையே விரும்புகிறார்.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, during which the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the elements, being intensely hot, will be disintegrated, and the earth and the works in it will be destroyed by fire.

ஆனால், கர்த்தருடைய நாள் ஒரு திருடனைப்போல் வரும். பேரிரைச்சலுடன் வானங்கள் மறைந்தொழிந்து போகும்; பஞ்ச பூதங்கள் எல்லாம் நெருப்பினால் எரிந்து அழிந்துபோகும். பூமியும் அதில் உள்ளவைகள் யாவும் தீக்கிரையாகும்.

11 Therefore, all these things being disintegrated, what kind ought ye to be in holy actions and pieties,

இவ்விதமாய் யாவும் அழிக்கப்படப் போவதினால், நீங்கள் எப்படிப்பட்டவர்களாய் இருக்கவேண்டும்? பரிசுத்தமும் இறை பக்தியுமுள்ள வாழ்க்கையை நீங்கள் வாழவேண்டுமே.

12 anticipating and hastening the coming of the day of God, by which the heavens, being made fiery hot, will be disintegrated, and the elements dissolve, being intensely hot?

இறைவனுடைய நாள் விரைவாய் வருவதை ஆவலாய் காத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், இப்படியே நீங்கள் வாழவேண்டும். அந்த நாளிலே வானங்கள் எரிந்து அழிந்துபோகும், உலகத்தின் பஞ்ச பூதங்கள் கொடிய வெப்பத்தினால் உருகிப்போகும்.

13 But we anticipate a new heavens and a new earth according to his promise, in which righteousness dwells.

ஆனால் நாமோ, இறைவனுடைய வாக்குத்தத்தத்தின்படி நீதி குடிகொண்டிருக்கும், புதிய வானங்களுக்காகவும் புதிய பூமிக்காகவும் காத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறோம்.

14 Therefore, beloved, anticipating these things, be diligent to be found by him in peace, without spot and blameless.

ஆகையால் என் அன்புக்குரியவர்களே, நீங்கள் இவைகளுக்காகக் காத்திருக்கிறபடியால், குற்றம் காணப்படாதவர்களும் மாசற்றவர்களுமாய் இறைவனுடன் சமாதானத்துடன் இருக்கும்படி, எல்லா முயற்சிகளையும் செய்யுங்கள்.

15 And consider the longsuffering of our Lord, salvation, just as also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given to him,

கர்த்தருடைய பொறுமை, இரட்சிப்புக்கான தருணம் என்பதை மனதில் வைத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள். அவ்விதமாகவே நம்முடைய அன்புக்குரிய சகோதரனான பவுலும் இறைவன் தனக்குக் கொடுத்த ஞானத்தின்படியே உங்களுக்கு எழுதியிருக்கிறான்.

16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them about these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist, as also the other scriptures, to their own destruction.

தன்னுடைய கடிதங்களில் எல்லாம் இந்த விஷயங்களைக் குறித்துச் சொல்லும்போது இதேவிதமாய் எழுதியிருக்கிறான். அவனுடைய கடிதங்களில் விளங்கிக்கொள்ள கஷ்டமான சில விஷயங்களும் அடங்கியிருக்கின்றன. அதனால் அவைகளுக்கு அறிவில்லாதவர்களும் உறுதியற்றவர்களும் பொய்யான விளக்கத்தைக் கொடுக்கிறார்கள். அப்படியே அவர்கள் மற்ற வேதவசனங்களுக்கும் தவறான விளக்கத்தையே கொடுக்கிறார்கள். இதனால் அவர்கள் தங்களுக்கே அழிவை ஏற்படுத்திக்கொள்கிறார்கள்.

17 Ye therefore, beloved, knowing in advance, keep watch, lest, having accommodated to the error of the lawless, ye fall from your own steadfastness.

ஆகையால் என் அன்புக்குரிய நண்பர்களே, இதை நீங்கள் ஏற்கெனவே அறிந்திருக்கிறபடியால், கவனமாயிருங்கள். அப்பொழுது சட்டத்தை மீறுகிறவர்களின் தவறுகளினால் வழிவிலகிப்போய், உங்கள் பாதுகாப்பான நிலைமையிலிருந்து விழுந்துபோகாதிருப்பீர்கள்.

18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him is the glory both now and into the day of the age. Truly. (aiōn g165)

ஆனால் நம்முடைய கர்த்தரும் இரட்சகருமாகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினுடைய கிருபையிலும் அவருடைய அறிவிலும் வளர்ச்சியடையுங்கள். அவருக்கே இப்பொழுதும் எப்பொழுதும் மகிமை உண்டாவதாக! ஆமென். (aiōn g165)
