2 John 1
1 The elder to the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who know the truth,
Starešina izvoljeni gospe in njenim otrokom, ki jih ljubim v resnici; pa ne samo jaz, temveč tudi vsi tisti, ki so spoznali resnico;
zaradi resnice, ki prebiva v nas in bo za vedno z nami. (aiōn g165)
3 Grace, mercy, peace will be with us from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
Milost bodi z vami, usmiljenje in mir od Boga Očeta in od Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa, Očetovega Sina, v resnici in ljubezni.
4 I rejoice exceedingly that I have found of thy children walking in truth, just as we received commandment from the Father.
Silno sem se razveselil, da sem našel nekatere izmed tvojih otrok, ki hodijo v resnici, kakor smo prejeli zapoved od Očeta.
5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as writing a new commandment to thee, but what we had from the beginning, that we would love each other.
In sedaj te rotim, gospa, ne kakor da sem ti napisal novo zapoved, temveč to, ki smo jo imeli od začetka, da ljubimo drug drugega.
6 And this is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, just as ye heard from the beginning, that ye should walk in it.
In to je ljubezen, da živimo po njegovih zapovedih. To je zapoved: »Da kakor ste slišali od začetka, naj bi hodili v njej.«
7 Because many deceivers have gone forth into the world, those not acknowledging Jesus Christ coming in flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.
Kajti mnogo sleparjev je vstopilo na svet, ki ne priznavajo, da je Jezus Kristus prišel v mesu. Ta je slepar in antikrist.
8 Watch yourselves, so that we may not lose what we have wrought, but may receive a full reward.
Glejte nase, da ne izgubimo teh stvari, ki smo jih izvršili, temveč, da prejmemo popolno plačilo.
9 Every man transgressing, and not abiding in the doctrine of the Christ, does not have God. The man abiding in the doctrine of the Christ, this man has both the Father and the Son.
Kdorkoli greši in ne ostaja v Kristusovem nauku, nima Boga. Kdor ostaja v Kristusovem nauku, ima tako Očeta kakor Sina.
10 If any man comes to you, and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into a house, and do not speak to him to rejoice.
Če kdo pride k vam in vam ne prinese tega nauka, ga ne sprejmite v svojo hišo niti mu ne želite: »Bog te obvarji! Srečno!«
11 For he who speaks to him to rejoice, partakes of his evil works.
Kajti kdor mu želi: »Bog te obvarji! Srečno!« je soudeleženec njegovih zlih dejanj.
12 Having many things, I did not want to write to you by paper and ink, but I hope to come to you, and to speak mouth to mouth, so that our joy may be filled.
Ker vam imam napisati mnogo stvari, ne želim pisati s papirjem in črnilom, temveč zaupam, da pridem k vam in spregovorim iz obličja v obličje, da bo naše veselje lahko popolno.
13 The children of thy chosen sister salute thee. Truly.
