2 Corinthians 13
1 This third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two witnesses or three every saying will be confirmed.
C'est ici la troisième fois que je viens à vous: en la bouche de deux ou de trois témoins toute parole sera confirmée.
2 I have told you before, and I say in advance, as present the second time, and now absent, I write to those who have previously sinned, and to all the others, that if I come to it again, I will not spare,
Je l'ai déjà dit, et je le dis encore comme si j'étais présent pour la seconde fois, et maintenant étant absent, j'écris à ceux qui ont péché auparavant, et à tous les autres, que si je viens encore une fois, je n'épargnerai personne.
3 since ye seek proof of the Christ speaking in me, who is not weak toward you, but is mighty in you.
Puisque vous cherchez la preuve que Christ parle par moi, lequel n'est point faible envers vous, mais qui est puissant en vous.
4 For even if he was crucified from weakness, yet he lives from the power of God. For we in him are also weak, but we will live with him from the power of God toward you.
Car quoiqu'il ait été crucifié par infirmité, il est néanmoins vivant par la puissance de Dieu; et nous aussi nous souffrons [diverses] infirmités à cause de lui, mais nous vivrons avec lui par la puissance que Dieu a déployée envers vous.
5 Examine yourselves whether ye are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or know ye not yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? Unless ye are test-failing something.
Examinez-vous vous-mêmes [pour savoir] si vous êtes en la foi; éprouvez-vous vous-mêmes; ne reconnaissez-vous point vous-mêmes, [savoir] que Jésus-Christ est en vous? si ce n'est qu'en quelque sorte vous fussiez réprouvés.
6 But I hope that ye will know that we are not test-failing.
Mais j'espère que vous connaîtrez que pour nous, nous ne sommes point réprouvés.
7 Now I pray to God, to do you nothing harmful, not that we would appear test-passing, but that ye would do right, even like we might be test-failing.
Or je prie Dieu que vous ne fassiez aucun mal; non afin que nous soyons trouvés approuvés, mais afin que vous fassiez ce qui est bon, et que nous soyons comme réprouvés.
8 For we do not have any power against the truth, but for the truth.
Car nous ne pouvons rien contre la vérité, mais pour la vérité.
9 For we are glad when we are weak and ye are strong. And this also we pray for, your full qualification.
Or nous nous réjouissons si nous sommes faibles, et que vous soyez forts; et même nous souhaitons ceci, [c'est à savoir] votre entier accomplissement.
10 Because of this I write these things while absent, so that I may not act harshly when present, according to the authority that the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.
C'est pourquoi j'écris ces choses étant absent, afin que quand je serai présent, je n'use point de rigueur, selon la puissance que le Seigneur m'a donnée, pour l'édification, et non point pour la destruction.
11 Finally brothers, farewell. Be thoroughly prepared, be encouraged, think the same way, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.
Au reste, mes frères, réjouissez-vous, tendez à vous rendre parfaits, soyez consolés, soyez tous d'un consentement, vivez en paix, et le Dieu de charité et de paix sera avec vous.
12 Salute each other by a holy kiss.
Saluez-vous l'un l'autre par un saint baiser.
13 All the sanctified salute you.
Tous les Saints vous saluent.
14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, is with all of you. Truly.
Que la grâce du Seigneur Jésus-Christ, et la charité de Dieu, et la communication du Saint-Esprit soit avec vous tous; Amen!
