2 Chronicles 12
1 And it came to pass, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of Jehovah, and all Israel with him.
१रहबामाचे सामर्थ्य वाढले. त्याने आपले राज्य बळकट केले. पण त्याचबरोबर त्याने आणि इस्राएल लोकांनी परमेश्वराच्या नियमशास्त्राचे पालन करण्याचे थांबवले.
2 And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had trespassed against Jehovah,
२रहबामाच्या कारकिर्दीच्या पाचव्या वर्षी शिशकने यरूशलेमेवर हल्ला चढवला. शिशक हा मिसरचा राजा होता. रहबाम आणि यहूदाचे लोक यांनी परमेश्वराचा मार्ग सोडल्यामुळे असे झाले.
3 with twelve hundred chariots, and thirty thousand horsemen. And the people were without number who came with him out of Egypt: the Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the Ethiopians.
३शिशककडे बारा हजार रथ, साठ हजार घोडेस्वार आणि असंख्य पायदळ होते. त्याच्या सैन्यात लुबी, सुक्की, कुशी हे मिसरातून आलेले लोक होते.
4 And he took the fortified cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.
४यहूदातील भक्कम नगरांचा पाडाव केल्यावर शिशकने आपले सैन्य यरूशलेमेला आणले.
5 Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam, and to the rulers of Judah, who were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, Thus says Jehovah, Ye have forsaken me, therefore I have also left you in the hand of Shishak.
५तेव्हा शमाया हा संदेष्टा रहबाम आणि यहूदाच्या वडिलधाऱ्या मंडळीकडे आला. शिशकच्या धास्तीने ही सर्व वडीलधारी मंडळी यरूशलेमेला जमली होती. शमाया रहबामाला आणि या सर्वांना म्हणाला, “परमेश्वराचे म्हणणे असे आहे रहबाम, तू आणि यहूदाचे लोक यांनी माझा त्याग केला आहे. तुमचे आचरण माझ्या नियमांच्या विरुध्द आहे. तेव्हा मीही तुम्हास सोडून शिशकच्या हाती दिले आहे.”
6 Then the rulers of Israel and the king humbled themselves, and they said, Jehovah is righteous.
६तेव्हा इस्राएलाचे सरदार आणि राजे यांनी पश्चाताप करून ते विनम्र झाले. “परमेश्वर न्यायी आहे.” असे त्यांनी उदगार काढले.
7 And when Jehovah saw that they humbled themselves, the word of Jehovah came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.
७ते नम्र झाले आहेत हे परमेश्वराने पाहिले. तेव्हा पुन्हा शमायाला परमेश्वराचा संदेश आला. परमेश्वर त्यास म्हणाला, “राजा आणि ही मंडळी माझ्यापुढे नम्र झाल्यामुळे मी त्यांचा नाश करणार नाही. थोड्याफार प्रमाणात मी त्यांना मुक्त करीन. शिशक मार्फत यरूशलेमेला मी माझ्या कोपाचे लक्ष्य करणार नाही.
8 Nevertheless they shall be his servants, that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.
८पण यरूशलेमचे लोक शिशकचे चाकर होतील. माझी सेवा आणि इतर देशांतील राजाची सेवा यामधला भेद त्यांना कळावा म्हणून ते त्याचे अंकित होतील.”
9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king's house; he took all away. He also took away the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
९शिशकने यरूशलेमेवर स्वारी केली आणि परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरातील खजिना लुटून नेला. शिशक हा मिसरचा राजा होता. राजमहालातील खजिनाही त्याने लुटला. शलमोनाने केलेल्या सोन्याच्या ढाली त्याने हस्तगत केल्या.
10 And king Rehoboam made in their stead shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard that kept the door of the king's house.
१०त्या सोन्याच्या ढालीऐवजी रहबामाने पितळेच्या ढाली केल्या. त्या त्याने महालाचे संरक्षण करणाऱ्या द्वारपालांना दिल्या.
11 And it was so, that, as often as the king entered into the house of Jehovah, the guard came and bore them, and brought them back into the guard-chamber.
११राजा परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात जात असे तेव्हा ते ढाली घेऊन पुढे होत. नंतर त्या पहारेदारांच्या खोलीत ठेवून देत.
12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of Jehovah turned from him, so as not to destroy him altogether. And moreover in Judah there were good things.
१२रहबाम असा नम्र झाल्यामुळे परमेश्वराचा त्याच्यावरील राग कमी झाला. त्याचा परमेश्वराने पूर्ण नायनाट केला नाही. शिवाय यहूदात थोडा चांगुलपणाही शिल्लक होता.
13 So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned. For Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Jehovah had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his name there. And his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess.
१३रहबामाने यरूशलेमामध्ये आपले सामर्थ्य वाढवले व राज्य केले. तो राज्यावर आला तेव्हा एक्के चाळीस वर्षांचा होता. त्याने यरूशलेमामध्ये सतरा वर्षे राज्य केले, इस्राएलच्या सर्व वंशांमधून परमेश्वराने यरूशलेमची निवड केली होती. आपले नाव रहावे म्हणून त्याने यरूशलेम निवडले होते. रहबामाच्या आईचे नाव नामा; नामा अम्मोनीण नगरातली होती.
14 And he did that which was evil, because he did not set his heart to seek Jehovah.
१४रहबामाने वाईट गोष्टी केल्या कारण परमेश्वराच्या आज्ञांचे पालन करण्याविषयी त्याने मनात निश्चय केला नव्हता.
15 Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the histories of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer, after the manner of genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
१५शमाया हा संदेष्टा आणि इद्दो हा द्रष्टा यांच्या इतिहासात रहबामाने आपल्या कारकीर्दीत केलेल्या सर्व गोष्टींची पूर्ण हकिकत आहे. शमाया आणि इद्दो वंशाळींचा इतिहास लिहीत. रहबाम आणि यराबाम या दोघांमध्ये नित्य लढाया होत.
16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David. And Abijah his son reigned in his stead.
१६रहबामाने मृत्यूनंतर आपल्या पूर्वजांबरोबर विश्रांती घेतली. दावीद नगरात त्याचे दफन झाले. त्याचा पुत्र अबीया राजा झाला.
