1 Thessalonians 3
1 Therefore, no longer covering over it, we preferred to be left behind in Athens alone.
Pelo que, não podendo esperar mais, de boamente quizemos deixar-nos ficar sós em Atenas;
2 And we sent Timothy, our brother, and a helper of God, and our fellow workman in the good news of the Christ, in order to establish you and to encourage you about your faith,
E enviamos Timotheo nosso irmão, e ministro de Deus, e nosso cooperador no evangelho de Cristo, para vos confortar e vos exortar acerca da vossa fé
3 for no man to be disturbed by these afflictions. For ye yourselves know that we are set for this.
Para que ninguém se comova por estas tribulações; porque vós mesmos sabeis que para isto fomos ordenados.
4 For also when we were with you we foretold you that we were going to be oppressed, just as it also happened, and ye know.
Pois, estando ainda convosco, vos prediziamos que havíamos de ser afligidos, como também sucedeu, e vós o sabeis.
5 Because of this, I too, no longer covering over it, sent in order to know your faith, lest somehow he who tempts was tempting you, and our labor became in vain.
Portanto, não podendo eu também esperar mais, mandei-o saber da vossa fé, temendo que o tentador vos tentasse, e o nosso trabalho viesse a ser inútil.
6 But now of Timothy, having come to us from you, and having proclaimed good news to us of your faith and love, and that ye always have a good recollection of us, longing to see us, just as we also you,
Vindo, porém, agora Timotheo de vós para nós, e trazendo-nos boas novas acerca da vossa fé e caridade, e de como sempre tendes boa lembrança de nós, desejando muito ver-nos, como nós também a vós;
7 because of this, brothers, we were encouraged toward you in all our affliction and necessity through your faith.
Pelo que, irmãos, nós ficamos consolados acerca de vós em toda a nossa aflição e necessidade, pela vossa fé,
8 Because now we live, if ye stand firm in the Lord.
Porque agora vivemos, se estais firmes no Senhor.
9 For what thanks can we repay God about you, for all the joy in which we rejoiced because of you before our God,
Porque, que ação de graças poderemos dar a Deus por vós, por todo o gozo com que nos regozijamos por vossa causa diante do nosso Deus,
10 praying night and day above extraordinary in order to see your face and to mend the deficiencies of your faith?
Orando abundantemente dia e noite, para que possamos ver o vosso rosto, e supramos o que falta à vossa fé?
11 Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you.
Ora o mesmo nosso Deus e Pai, e nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, encaminhe a nossa viagem para vós.
12 And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love toward each other, and toward all men, just as also we toward you,
E o Senhor vos aumente, e faça abundar em caridade uns para com os outros, e para com todos, como também abundamos para convosco;
13 in order to establish your hearts unblameable in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his sanctified.
Para confortar os vossos corações, para que sejais irrepreensíveis em santificação diante de nosso Deus e Pai, na vinda de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo com todos os seus santos.
