< 1 Samuel 12 >

1 And Samuel said to all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened to your voice in all that ye said to me, and have made a king over you.
Hoe t’i Samoele tam’ Israele iaby: Nihaoñeko o fiarañanaña’ areoo amo nisaontsia’ areo iabio, vaho nanoako mpanjaka.
2 And now, behold, the king walks before you. And I am old and gray headed, and, behold, my sons are with you. And I have walked before you from my youth to this day.
Inao arè te mañavelo aolo’ areo i mpanjakay henane zao, izaho fa bey naho fotivolo; ingo, mpiama’ areo o ana-dahikoo, vaho fa nanjotik’ aolo’ areo iraho boak’ an-katorako am-para’ te henaneo.
3 Here I am. Witness against me before Jehovah, and before his anointed: Whose ox have I taken? Or whose donkey have I taken? Or whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Or of whose hand have I taken a bribe to blind my eyes with it? And I will restore it to you.
Intoy iraho, miasìa ahy añatrefa’ Iehovà naho aolo’ i noriza’ey: vosi’ ia ty nalaeko? ndra borì’ ia ty rinambeko? ia ty nikatramoeko? ia ty finorekekeko? am-pità’ ia ty nitavanako vokàñe hampikipe o masokoo? le havahako ama’ areo.
4 And they said, Thou have not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither have thou taken anything of any man's hand.
Le hoe iereo: Tsy nikatramo anay irehe, tsy niforekeke’o, tsy rinambe’o ty am-pità’ ondaty.
5 And he said to them, Jehovah is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found anything in my hand. And they said, He is witness.
Le hoe re ama’e: Valolombeloñ’ ama’ areo t’Iehovà, valolombelon-ka i norizañ’ anianikey te tsy nahaonin-draha an-tañako nahareo. Le hoe iereo, Ie ty valolombeloñe.
6 And Samuel said to the people, It is Jehovah who appointed Moses and Aaron, and who brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.
Le hoe t’i Samoele am’ondatio: Iehovà ty nanendre i Mosè naho i Aharone, naho nañakatse an-droae’ areo an-tane Mitsraime añe.
7 Now therefore stand still that I may plead with you before Jehovah concerning all the righteous acts of Jehovah, which he did to you and to your fathers.
Aa le mihendrea, fa miveroke ama’ areo iaby añatrefa’ Iehovà o fitoloñañe vanta’ Iehovà nanoe’e ama’ areo naho aman-droae’ areoo.
8 When Jacob had come into Egypt, and your fathers cried to Jehovah, then Jehovah sent Moses and Aaron who brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and made them to dwell in this place.
Naho nivotrak’ e Mitsraime ao t’Iakobe, le nitoreo amy Iehovà o roae’ areoo, vaho nirahe’ Iehovà t’i Mosè naho i Aharone; ie ty nañavotse o roae’ areoo boak’ e Mitsraime añe, naho nampimoneña’e an-tane atoy.
9 But they forgot Jehovah their God, and he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the army of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them.
Fe nihaliño’ iereo t’Iehovà Andrianañahare’ iareo vaho natolo’e am-pità’ i Sisere, mpifehe ty valobohò’ i Katsore, naho am-pità’ o nte-Pilistio naho am-pità’ i mpanjaka’ i Moabey, le nialia’ iareo.
10 And they cried to Jehovah, and said, We have sinned because we have forsaken Jehovah, and have served the Baalim and the Ashtaroth, but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.
Aa le nikoiak’ am’ Iehovà iereo ami’ty hoe: Manan-tahin-jahay, fa naforintse’ay t’Iehovà, naho nitoroñe o Baaleo naho o Asteroteo; fe avotsoro am-pità’ o rafelahi’aio le hitoroña’ay.
11 And Jehovah sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side, and ye dwelt in safety.
Aa le nirahe’ Iehovà t’Ierobaale, naho i Bedane, naho Ieptà, naho i Samoele naho rinomba’ iereo am-pitàn-drafelahi’ areo mb’etia mb’eroa, vaho nimoneñe am-panintsiñañe nahareo.
12 And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the sons of Ammon came against you, ye said to me, No, but a king shall reign over us, when Jehovah your God was your king.
Aa ie nizoe’ areo te naname anahareo t’i Nakase mpanjaka’ o ana’ i Amoneo le nanao ty hoe amako: Aiy, fa mpanjaka ty hifehe anay, ie ni-Mpanjaka’ areo t’Iehovà Andrianañahare’ areo.
13 Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have asked for. And, behold, Jehovah has set a king over you.
Aa ie henanekeo isaho o mpanjaka jinobo’ areoo, i nihalalie’ areoy le oniño te nampijadoñe mpanjaka hamehe anahareo t’Iehovà.
14 If ye will fear Jehovah, and serve him, and hearken to his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of Jehovah, then both ye and also the king who reigns over you shall be followers of Jehovah your God.
Aa naho añeveña’ areo t’Iehovà, naho mitoroñe aze naho mañaoñe i fiarañanaña’ey naho tsy miola amo lili’ Iehovào, vaho songa mañorike Iehovà Andrianañahare’ areo naho i mpanjaka mifehe anahareoy—
15 But if ye will not hearken to the voice of Jehovah, but rebel against the commandment of Jehovah, then the hand of Jehovah will be against you as it was against your fathers.
aa hera tsy haoñe’ areo ty fiarañanaña’ Iehovà naho miola amo lili’ Iehovào le hatreatré’ ty fità’ Iehovà manahake ty niatrefa’e an-droae’ areo.
16 Now therefore stand still and see this great thing, which Jehovah will do before your eyes.
Ie amy zao, mijohaña eo vaho mahaisaha ty raha jabajaba hanoe’ Iehovà añatrefam-pihaino’ areo.
17 Is it not wheat harvest today? I will call to Jehovah that he may send thunder and rain, and ye shall know and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of Jehovah in asking a king for you.
Tsy anito hao ty fitataham-bare-bolè? Hikanjy Iehovà iraho, hañitrifa’e àmpiñe miharo orañe; hahafohina’ areo naho hahaisaha’ areo te ra’elahy ty haloloañe nanoe’ areo am-pivazohoa’ Iehovà amy nihalalia’ areo mpanjakay.
18 So Samuel called to Jehovah, and Jehovah sent thunder and rain that day. And all the people greatly feared Jehovah and Samuel.
Aa le kinanji’ i Samoele t’Iehovà; vaho nañiraha’ Iehovà hotroke naho orañe amy andro zay; le nirevendreveñe am’ Iehovà naho i Samoele ondatio,
19 And all the people said to Samuel, Pray for thy servants to Jehovah thy God that we not die, for we have added to all our sins this evil, to ask a king for us.
vaho hoe ondaty iabio amy Samoele: Mihalalia am’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’o ho a o mpitoro’oo, tsy hivetrake; fa nitovoña’ay amo hakeo’ay iabio ty hatsivokarañe toy, t’ie nipay mpanjaka.
20 And Samuel said to the people, Fear not. Ye have indeed done all this evil, yet turn not aside from following Jehovah, but serve Jehovah with all your heart.
Le hoe t’i Samoele am’ ondatio: Ko hembañe; Toe nanoe’ areo i haratiañe zay, fe ko mivìke tsy hañorike Iehovà vaho toroño an-kaliforan’ arofo t’Iehovà;
21 And turn ye not aside after vain things which cannot profit nor deliver, for they are vain.
le ko mitsile hitoha raha kafoake tsy mahasoa tsy maharombake, amy t’ie kòake.
22 For Jehovah will not forsake his people for his great name's sake, because it has pleased Jehovah to make you a people to himself.
Toe tsy haforintse’ Iehovà ondati’eo ty amy tahina’e ra’elahiy; amy te mahafale Iehovà t’ie hanoe’e ondati’e.
23 Moreover as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against Jehovah in ceasing to pray for you. But I will instruct you in the good and the right way.
Aa naho Izaho, ee te ho lavitse ahy ty hanao hakeo am’ Iehovà fa tsy hadòko ty hihalaly ho anahareo vaho mboe hañòhako ty sata-soa naho vantañe.
24 Only fear Jehovah, and serve him in truth with all your heart, for consider what great things he has done for you.
Ie amy zao mañeveña am’ Iehovà naho toroño an-katò naho an-kaliforañ’ arofo le tsakoreo o fitoloñañe jabajaba nanoa’e.
25 But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.
F’ie mbe hanao haloloañe le ho faohe’e añe reke-panjaka.
