1 Kings 5
1 And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father, for Hiram was ever a devotee of David.
| حیرام، پادشاه صور، که در زمان داوود پادشاه دوست او بود، وقتی شنید که سلیمان، پسر داوود، جانشین پدرش شده است چند سفیر به دربار او فرستاد. |
2 And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
| سلیمان نیز در مقابل قاصدانی با این پیام نزد حیرام فرستاد: |
3 Thou know how that David my father could not build a house for the name of Jehovah his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until Jehovah put them under the soles of his feet.
| «تو می‌دانی که پدرم داوود به خاطر جنگهای پی‌درپی نتوانست خانه‌ای برای عبادت خداوند، خدای خود بسازد، تا اینکه خداوند او را بر دشمنانش پیروز کرد. |
4 But now Jehovah my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary, nor evil occurrence.
| اما اینک خداوند، خدایم در اسرائیل صلح و امنیت برقرار کرده است و من دشمنی ندارم تا به من حمله کند. |
5 And, behold, I purpose to build a house for the name of Jehovah my God, as Jehovah spoke to David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy place, he shall build the house for my name.
| خداوند به پدرم داوود وعده فرمود:”پسرت که به جای تو بر تخت سلطنت می‌نشیند، برای من خانه‌ای خواهد ساخت.“حال در نظر دارم برای عبادت خداوند، خدایم خانه‌ای بسازم. |
6 Now therefore command thou that they cut for me cedar trees out of Lebanon. And my servants shall be with thy servants. And I will give thee wages for thy servants according to all that thou shall say, for thou know that there is not among us any that knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.
| آنچه از تو می‌خواهم این است که چوب‌بُران خود را به کوههای لبنان بفرستی تا از درختان سرو برایم الوار تهیه کنند. من هم افرادم را به آنجا روانه می‌کنم تا دوش به دوش آنها کار کنند. مزد کارگران تو را هم هر قدر تعیین کنی می‌پردازم. چون همان‌طور که می‌دانی در اسرائیل هیچ‌کس به خوبی صیدونی‌ها در بریدن درخت ماهر نیست!» |
7 And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be Jehovah this day, who has given to David a wise son over this great people.
| حیرام از این پیام سلیمان بسیار خوشحال شد و گفت: «سپاس بر خداوند که به داوود پسر حکیمی داده است تا بر مملکت بزرگ اسرائیل سلطنت کند.» |
8 And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have heard that which thou have sent to me. I will do all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.
| آنگاه این پیام را برای سلیمان فرستاد: «پیغامت را دریافت کردم و خواهش تو را دربارهٔ تهیهٔ الوار درخت سرو و صنوبر بجا می‌آورم. |
9 My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. And I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that thou shall appoint me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and thou shall receive them. And thou shall accomplish my desire in giving food for my household.
| افرادم الوار را از کوههای لبنان به ساحل دریا می‌آورند. سپس آنها را به هم می‌بندند و به آب می‌اندازند تا از کنار دریا به طور شناور حرکت کنند و به نقطه‌ای که می‌خواهی برسند. در آنجا افراد من چوبها را از هم باز می‌کنند و تحویل می‌دهند. تو نیز می‌توانی در عوض، برای خاندان سلطنتی من آذوقه بفرستی.» |
10 So Hiram gave Solomon timber of cedar and timber of fir according to all his desire.
| به این ترتیب، حیرام چوب سرو و صنوبر مورد نیاز سلیمان را فراهم کرد، |
11 And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil; thus Solomon gave to Hiram year by year.
| و به جای آن، سلیمان هر سال دو هزار تن گندم و چهارصد هزار لیتر روغن زیتون خالص برای حیرام می‌فرستاد. |
12 And Jehovah gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him. And there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two made a league together.
| بین حیرام و سلیمان صلح برقرار بود و آن دو با هم پیمان دوستی بستند. خداوند همان‌طور که فرموده بود به سلیمان حکمت زیادی بخشید. |
13 And king Solomon raised a conscription out of all Israel, and the conscription was thirty thousand men.
| آنگاه سلیمان سی هزار نفر را از سراسر اسرائیل به کار اجباری گرفت. |
14 And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses. They were in Lebanon a month, and at home two months. And Adoniram was over the men subject to task work.
| ادونیرام را نیز به سرپرستی آنها گماشت. او هر ماه به نوبت، ده هزار نفر از آنان را به لبنان می‌فرستاد. به این ترتیب، هر کس دو ماه در خانهٔ خود بود و یک ماه در لبنان. |
15 And Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens, and eighty thousand who were hewers in the mountains,
| سلیمان هفتاد هزار باربر و هشتاد هزار سنگتراش در کوهستان داشت |
16 besides Solomon's chief officers who were over the work: three thousand and three hundred who bore rule over the people that labored in the work.
| و سه هزار و سیصد سرکارگر بر آنها نظارت می‌کردند. |
17 And the king commanded, and they hewed out great stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with shaped stone.
| سنگتراشها به دستور پادشاه سنگهای مرغوب بزرگ برای بنای خانهٔ خدا می‌کندند و می‌تراشیدند. |
18 And Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders and the Gebalites fashioned them, and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.
| اهالی جِبال هم به چوب‌بران سلیمان و حیرام در بریدن چوب و تهیه الوار و تراشیدن سنگها برای خانهٔ خدا کمک می‌کردند. |
