1 Corinthians 6

1 Dare any of you, having a matter against the other, go to law before the unrighteous and not before the sanctified?

Ousa algum de vós, tendo algum negócio contra outro, ir a juízo perante os injustos, e não perante os santos?

2 Or know ye not that the sanctified will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are ye unworthy of very small legal disputes?

Não sabeis vós que os santos hão de julgar o mundo? Ora, se o mundo deve ser julgado por vós, sois porventura indignos de julgar as coisas mínimas?

3 Know ye not that we will judge agents? Then why not mundane things?

Não sabeis vós que havemos de julgar os anjos? Quanto mais as coisas pertencentes a esta vida?

4 Indeed therefore whenever ye have mundane legal disputes, men who are disdained by the church, these ye seat to judge.

Assim que, se tiverdes negócios em juízo, pertencentes a esta vida, ponde na cadeira aos que são de menos estima na igreja.

5 I speak shame about you. So there is not among you not even one wise man who will be able to arbitrate between his brother?

Para vos envergonhar o digo: Não há pois entre vós sábios, nem ainda um, que possa julgar entre seus irmãos?

6 But brother goes to law against brother, and this before unbelievers?

Mas o irmão vai a juízo com o irmão, e isto perante infieis.

7 Now therefore it is indeed altogether a defeat for you because ye have legal disputes against yourselves. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?

Assim que é já realmente uma falta entre vós, terdes demandas uns contra os outros. Porque não sofreis antes a injustiça? Porque não sofreis antes o dano

8 Instead ye do wrong, and defraud, and these things to brothers.

Mas vós mesmos fazeis a injustiça e fazeis o dano; e isto aos irmãos.

9 Or know ye not that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not led astray. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate men, nor homosexuals,

Não sabeis que os injustos não hão de herdar o reino de Deus?

10 nor greedy men, nor thieves, nor drunkards, nor the slanderous, nor the predatory will inherit the kingdom of God.

Não erreis: nem os fornicadores, nem os idólatras, nem os adúlteros, nem os efeminados, nem os sodomitas, nem os ladrões, nem os avarentos, nem os bêbedos, nem os maldizentes, nem os roubadores herdarão o reino de Deus.

11 And some of you were these things, but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were made righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

E é o que alguns tem sido, mas haveis sido lavados, mas haveis sido santificados, mas haveis sido justificados em nome do Senhor Jesus, e pelo espírito do nosso Deus.

12 All things are lawful for me, but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under control by anything.

Todas as coisas me são licitas, mas nem todas as coisas convém: todas as coisas me são licitas; porém eu não me deixarei dominar por nenhuma.

13 The foods are for the belly and the belly for foods, but God will abolish both this and these things. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

Os manjares são para o ventre e o ventre para os manjares; porém Deus aniquilará, tanto um como os outros. Porém o corpo não é para a fornicação, mas para o Senhor, e o Senhor para o corpo

14 And God both raised up the Lord and will raise us up through his power.

Ora Deus, que também resuscitou o Senhor, nos resuscitará a nós pelo seu poder.

15 Know ye not that your bodies are body-parts of Christ? Therefore, having taken the body-parts of the Christ, should I make them body-parts of a harlot? May it not happen!

Não sabeis vós que os vossos corpos são membros de Cristo? Tomarei pois os membros de Cristo, e fa-los-ei membros de uma meretriz? Não, por certo.

16 Or know ye not that he who is joined to a harlot is one body? For, The two, he says, will be in one flesh.

Ou não sabeis que o que se ajunta com a meretriz, faz-se um corpo? Porque serão, disse, dois numa só carne.

17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.

Mas o que se ajunta com o Senhor é um mesmo espírito.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin, whatever a man may do, is outside the body, but he who fornicates sins against his own body.

Fugi da fornicação. Todo o pecado que o homem comete é fora do corpo; mas o que fornica peca contra o seu próprio corpo.

19 Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, which ye have from God? And ye are not your own,

Ou não sabeis que o nosso corpo é o templo do Espírito Santo, que habita em vós, o qual tendes de Deus, e que não sois de vós mesmos?

20 for ye were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and your spirit, which is of God.

Porque fostes comprados por preço; glorificai pois a Deus no vosso corpo, e no vosso espírito, os quais pertencem a Deus.
